Moses won't be class by your definition, if not for Conte. That's an answer to whether Ebuehi or Shehu will make that first team. So yes, I can't truly say for sure. But like I said earlier. It can still go either way when he makes his full debut for SE. So I reiterate, it's still premature to say he is the RB solution.

For me, both Aina and Nuru are my fantasy LB and RB solution -- until proven.

Moses was one of the key players in the 2013 nations cup win. We Nigerians already know his potential, it was up to him to start showing it consistently.

sure No doubt about his class. But these boys need gradual introduction/integration into the first team.

I prefer them starting in friendlies or coming in as sub. They can get overwhelmed if rushed which can mar their international career and don't forget it is WCQ against Cameroon not some Seychelles in 'Africa'...

So what? Okocha made his debut against then African Champions, Ivory Coast in Abidjan in a world cup qualifier.

His second game was another competitive game against Algeria in another world cup qualifier in Lagos.

If a player is good enough, he is good enough.

Not everyone knows class when they see one. We are just the ones setting impediments in the form of yardstick of e.g play first team first, play first tier first, play more games etc. I can tell you today that Musa Yahaya -- without any sentiments -- is class, and I don't care if he has played in the first tier. I just know it. I have seen him and I know he can compete at the highest level. I can say the same about a handful of our players regardless of where they are playing or whether they are being utilized well in their clubs. I will know class when I see it. Nura Abdullahi is class. I have seen it. Whether they should start for SE right now, that's another matter. But there is no golden rule to it. Some players get the chance in SE even when not fully established in Europe and never look back. Other disappoint. For me, their stats bring my attention. Video clips is proof.

If I were the coach, many of you won't like me, because I will go with my guts when I see a special player that you think does not deserve a call up.

I hope the 3 lions keep looking away so that dey go "Dominic Lorfa" very soon.

I don't fancy our chances with these Anglo Nigerians. Most, if not all prefer serving the Queen-so no dedication to us even if we later cap them and they most time drag the green white green in muddy waters before accepting our offers after it's down on them that they don't have future/chance with the 3 Lions.

So I say we give call to the interested ones-but let them show it first!

Ok, we've already had many rounds of that argument. Pinnick and co will do what they please.

... No doubt this is TheGoodJoe's school of thought.

Jay Jay was a local boy.

Iwobi who has been doing fine in Arsenal colours is still finding it hard to replicate same for us. Despite some share numbers of cap under his belt. You now want us to start one boy for WCQ cos he is a starter for one club for england. Ebuehi who started in a friendly sef commited error and we conceded a penalty and that alone has affected his chances of staking claim in the first team-despite playing week in week out for his club.

That's why I said in the absence of no better lethal striker iheanacho it is.

We still have other players that can play behind the main striker. But Iheanacho stands out amongst the strikers.

We need to maximise our strength in the various positions.
No we don't. See how we struggled vs. SA....
Mikel is good, but Iheanacho is better than him in that role. Mikel should be played a little deeper as a CM, and be Nigeria's midfield maestro.

I was initially an advocate for Kelechi to lead the line, but have changed my mind.
He has no goals from the run of play for Nigeria when played as a CF.

I was saying the same about Aina, although he is starting to make a case.

Nuru really need to start playing football...
my fear for him and sadiq is just the nature of Italian football...it seems to suit retired legs more....
I wish they both can get loaned to the French league...

please....sir let's analyse these scientifically.
the problem wit iwobi perfomance in the colors of SE...is because of him being deployed a winger....the dude has no strength for that....he will play better if played a midfielder(10)
and for ebuehi......I just believe his time will come...the penalty he caused wasn't intentional...the ball mistakenly touched his hand....so don't think...that mistakes..happened to be limiting his chances playing for the SE

JUPILER LEAGUE UPDATE:

Peter Olayinka started and lasted 86 minutes as he helped Waregem record a 2-0 home win over St. Truiden.

Waregem remain top of the log with the highest goals deferential of 7. They are yet to concede a goal after 2 rounds of matches without Kingsley Madu.

yes you are right.
But have also seen so many players who grew up in ranks in the best football system in Europe through worldclass academies, trained by worldclass experts with worldclass facilities and are still finding it hard to stamp their foot in africa football.

Every continents has it's unique football culture. In africa it's all about stating on the street. Any player who miss these developmental stage 'may' find it hard on the biggest continental stage and same goes for South Americans etc.

Final note, I am not the coach. The coach has the final say on his team and he alone will bare most of the consequences. But for me I won't thread that path.

Ebuehi committed no error. If you watched the game, you'd know that it was a terrible call, not even close to a hand-ball.

Iwobi has had decent games for Nigeria, he has been off color of late but the same can be said of some of the 'local boys'.

I do not get the concept of 'local boy' o!! Some of the Nigerians who were born abroad are as local as they come. Their circle of friends are Nigerians and they visit home regularly.

Leon Balogun was immense for Nigeria in the games, he played. Carl Ikeme has also been great for Nigeria.. Are they 'local boys'?

A player that is good enough is good enough. It is not as if we are overflowing with quality right backs. Aina is the best, we have now.

I can count the numbers of time Iwobi has been played out of position in SEs. He is amazing whenever he plays... But there is still this african football that is missing in his game. Don't you wonder why he is easily dispossesed? The culture is missing.

On Ebuehi, why hasn't rohr handed him an official debut?

Finally I see these (foreign guys) 'atohunrinwa' to be more useful against non african opponents.

Thank you!

The thing is, Iheanacho is more lethal behind a CF.
I'll also love to see Mikel play the CMF role. We need him there more than up front. He can tread those passes too from there while bringing stability to the mid-field..

Honestly @tbaba1234 I've not watched Aina enough. Please feel free to share some vids. I know that we Nigerians can be very sentimental so when I hear the word class I don't fall for that. But if I see class, I will NEVER ever deny it. I'm already watching an Aina highlight on youtube. Please share more vids here if you can. I am watching with that expectation that I will see class.

Just the other day somebody typed here and gave Oliseh etc titles, but I refused not to respond. But just as I cannot deny that some of our players in the past where the best in their playing position/roles in the world for a considerable short time, that person made it seem they were the best in their positions/roles for at least a large spell of their adult playing career.

Modified: The video I just watched.... grin

Ideye or Ighalo (preferably Ideye since he's quicker and sets up teammates better than Ighalo) until we can find a permanent striker (Tammy Abraham, Osimhen...).

Setting up team mate is more of the job of a supporting striker.

A striker that does not strike but would rather set up a team mate na striker? Besides this "setting up team mate" you guys have been posting is not from that Zambia game? The other match he set up a player was against Burkina Faso way back 2013 AFCON.

We had to manage Ideye even at his peak not to talk of now.

Iheanacho is still our best striker for now.

Has history not proven to us DAT African teams and their physical way of playing is only good wen playing other African opponents?... Weneva African teams go against d tactically clever European, or south american teams they quickly realise DAT football is all abt brain, skill and just a little physicality... Let's look towards building a team DAT can play good football and not just a pack of muscle heads Dats only know how to out muscle opponents....unless world dominance is not in our plans for our team...

hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we should discard this group of players(check my last statement).

When Africans square up against each other the rules and ball games are different. Even the man in the middle(ref) knows this. It's a paradigm!
