Mujtahida: I see Cameroon coming at us with full force. I still do not know what Broos thought when he pressed us high. That was a disaster approach. Even more surprising that Rohr expected it. May be the South African loss created an illusion that we were weak. I expect Cameroon to come all out again and agree we should adopt the same approach. We should exploit gaps created when the press and send daggers to their hearts with accurate counters. 2 Likes |

OMANBALA1:Nah,I don't think Etebo has slipped down the pecking order.I think Rohr wanted a clean sheet that was why a defensive minded player in Mikel Agu came on ahead of Etebo who is attack minded.I really would like to see him play some part in tommorow's match. |

TheSuperNerd: Nice to see you dissect the team in such a fine details. Indeed as talented and valued as Etebor is he seem sadly down the pecking order. Which says only one thing that Super Eagles is loaded with immense talents....BUT ARENT YOU FORGETTING SOMEBODY....JOEL L OBI ? |

Firstly, we need a level playing field. The more the f-monikers the merrier. So much hunters, but where are the commensurate birds? Oya all the ghost f-monikers, step in. Trudy12 (was it?) etc Secondly, do4luv14 Na my main bro . We know how we roll TheSuperNerd: |

TheSuperNerd:Yo bro, have you watched any of JT's game?I've only watched his youtube videos and i can deduce from those videos that dude is a baller.I think the NFF should approach him to pledge allegiance to the SE before Gemany give him a 2 minute debut.LOL |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 6:21pm On Sep 03, 2017 |
Well.... I have not forgotten honestly... when talking about our midfield options in CM and DM and AM... I only listed those that have always been invited under Rohr... but for the wings I had to mention a few uncapped yet.... But if I treat midfield the same say... then I will also include Anderson Esiti who has been invited before yes... But have since also shown some subtle improvements in his game. But on Joel Obi.... my goodness... we have a player reborn... hopefully no more injuries for him and we may just see his return to the Super Eagles and he will compete in the CM and AM roles.... Joel Obi is a CAM (Central/Attacking Midfielder). Joel Obi is certainly on my radar... and I think Rohr is watching him too. OMANBALA1: |

safarigirl:ok, but I can surmise that the Uniben thread made history as the first thread on nairaland to hit up to 2000 pages, which is noteworthy as it was created 2nd of January 2015, while Big brother Africa thread was created on January of this year. It grew to that extent as a result of many followers and participants. Nothing special |

I think the nff really have much to do....getting the best ones play for us and at the same time groom youngsters here in Nigeria |

Hey ladies and Gentlemen.... and Guests... Yes you! yooooouuu the guests... those number of guests who view this thread too.... we appreciate you.... Muuaaahhh.... Plsss read this interview which I find finny because of Balogun's answer.... even now he doesn't wanna hurt anyone.... .............................................................................................. Leon Balogun – It Would Have Been Hard To Opt For Nigeria If Germany Had Called Me Up Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun said he has no regret and he feels proud playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria even though he would have love to play for Germany. Balogun made this assertion in an interview with OmaSports monitored by Owngoalnigeria.com when he was asked if he would have still opt for Nigeria if Germany has called him up same time as Nigeria. Born in Germany to Nigerian parents, the Mainz 05 man who revealed he has always love the idea of playing for Nigeria since he was a kid, admitted that he would have probably quit international football if both nations have called him up almost the same time. Popular Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba who conducted the interview quizzed the Germany defender on if he would have still played for Nigeria, if Germany had called him up and his response showed his love for both nations. ” I can’t really tell because I’m very proud of both sides and for me while I was young and I was playing those video games, I always prefer to play with Nigeria”, Balogun told Omasports TV “Because when you remember your first question how it was for me to grow up in Germany, you feel the difference sometimes, that’s what I said, and I think that is the point that connects me to Nigeria more because even though I’m German and Nigerian , that’s why you always have this strong connection to the other side. ” So this is very been difficult (to choose between both nations , if they had called him up same time) because as a footballer you want to be successful, and we don’t have to lie about it, Germany always have the assurance they’re going to go far. “But this is a very good question because as I said in video games I always prefer Nigeria, I also had dreams of playing for the Super Eagles one day, of course with the successes in Nigeria, in Germany you see better opportunities. ” I can’t really tell you because I would have been proud to have the opportunity to play for both but if I had the choice to say Germany or Nigeria, I probably would have said I don’t want to hurt nobody. I’m staying out of both teams”. **Osas Mahawi Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/09/03/leon-balogun-it-would-have-been-hard-to-opt-for-nigeria-if-germany-had-called-me-up/ 2 Likes |
