Hello everyone.
Still waiting for ITA oh. Anyways, has anyone ever accessed with ACWA?
My brother has a bsc in sociology from Adekunle Ajasin Uni ondo state.
I'm assuming that would be equivalent to an Aqf diploma. He also has experience working with an Ngo.
Is he eligible for assessment with ACwA as a social worker or he needs a masters which would be equivalent to a Bsc?
Pls help.

ACWA is not the body assessing social worker. I am not sure what ACWA will assess his degree to be equivalent to, I would have asked he assess as a welfare centre manager. However, he can assess as a community worker, it is a level 2 occupation sponsored on 489 by SA and both 190/489 by NT.

They have been of great support to me in my PR paroles.
I lodger my application to EA on the 11th of April this year, and the outcome came in early today 21st April 2016 I did the fast track one.I applied as a professional Engineer, but in the outcome letter, they said my qualification is equivalent to Engineering Technologist. And that my degree is equivalent to Australia Qualification Framework as bachelors degree. I want to know if this qualifies me to v the 15points.

I wrote IELTS last year, I had above the 6.0 band score but my score didn't fetch me points.however I did PTE jst last month on the 16th of match, result came out early the following day,17th march.
Listening 81
Reading 90
Speaking 84
Writing 80
As it is now, my total points accumulated
English test -20 points
Age-32----- 25 or 30 points,by end of November I wld b a year older, I really don't know which point to pick 25 or 30
Bachelors degree(elect/ elect engineering with telecommunications option--------- 15
Total points= 60 or 65 depending on age point
I want the dons in the house to clarify on the engineering technologist thing.
Thanks house..

Hello Bellong and the Gurus,

I am new to this group, although i have been an on/off visitor to nairaland.

i appreciate the work you are doing here and only God can repay you guys.

I need support.

I have been battling with the PR process for a while but not with full focus.

I need all the help i can get to get the 189 PR for 263111 (Computer Network and Systems Engineer)

My story.

I did assessment with ACS 2014, it was positive but Bachelors compared to Associate Degree - Sent several mails to them and all but not no change so i was discouraged. I also did IELTS L8R7.5S7W6.

Fast forward to 2017

I got course outline from my school (University Of Ilorin), updated my references, did another assessment.

Result below

Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 263111 (Computer Network andSystems Engineer) of the ANZSCO Code.

Your qualification has been assessed as follows:

Your Bachelor of Computer Science from University of Ilorin completed May 2008 has been
assessed as comparable to an AQF Associate Degree with a major in computing.

The following employment after May 2012 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled

I have about 11 years work experience ( 2 years before degree and others after), so the above only leaves me with 5 years experience.

I did IELTS again few months back, L8R9S7W7

So far i have 60 points ( Age-30, qual- 10, exp-10, Eng-10)

Where i need help and your support based on experience of the group.

- Is there a workaround towards getting my degree assessed as Bachelors? This will give me five more points for qualification and five for experience ( deduction from my employment history will be reduced)

- Should i do another IELTS or focus on PTE ( moreover, i have a bad handwriting and good in typing)?

- i am open to all, please help.

@Teejah80,

NT is not bad Na... Infact, there is more money in NT than Queensland.. cheesy

Your degree has been assessed as equivalent to Australian Associate Degree, which other assessment are you talking about? If you have a higher qualification, you can then do a separate assessment of your degree with Vetassess, otherwise, your only option is to focus on your English to boost your points or get your spouse to do assessment also.

Happy new month.

Please, can I assess qualification with say IELTS Academic and submit EOI with PTE or IELTS General?

Thanks

It depends on your assessing body requirement. You need to find out what the requirement is.

@Tuteso,

Your degree was assessed as equivalent to an associate degree because UNILORIN is a tier 2 University according to the AQF standard.

I think you got a good result considering that ACS accept experience in lieu of qualification compared to our brother VETASSES....

What is your spouse's qualification?

I am of the opinion that you can net a 20point in IELTS going by your previous result. It is my opinion and may not be relevant to you.

Your degree is what it is as compared to Australia AQF. You can't change that.
What year is on your certificate?
If you are married, you may want to consider partner points..(5)
You can equally give English another go for additional 10pts and as bellong mentioned, you results are quite close..so am little more effort can nail the desired band.

Based on current trend you need at least 65pt for 263111 ITA.

Eureka! Eureka! Eureka! [/color](I've found the golden email).
All glory be to God for he has done great things.
In the early hours of today, I got 4 grant emails for me and my family members.
This has been a very long journey, my first post on this thread is March 17, 2015.
I want to say special thank you to some old Members most importantly Sir Bellong for accomodating all my whatsapp messages and calls, BossladyMo, fermadimako to mention but a few.
As hard as it is for a camel to pass through the hole of needle, so it is for me to get my Aussie dream to this level.
I'm one of those IT guys that couldn't make high points to get an ITA.
ACS assessment positive since April 2016, TRA assessment negative for wife and finally vetassess positive for me. Four PTE academic exam with 10 as the highest point.
Miraculously NSW stream 2 pathway opened the ITA door for me after two years of waiting.
I want to say a special thank you to those members who stood by me while packaging my visa application; Mr Jamson, Mctowel and Bellong.
I want to say all of you are wonderful and God bless you real good.
To my vigil mate(ivie), I pray your grant comes quick too. To my naira land bestie kikiade, thanks for all the support and advise, I hope to see you in Australia pretty soon.
Finally, I want to say thank you to all members for sharing your experiences on here and I want to encourage you all to read and research well, there is always a way out for you.
