Nihilist, on the face value, that statement from Mourinho seem to portray a coach that's on a mission to make his striker defensive, but that's not the truth. What Mourinho was praising was Ukaku's attitude. The way he tracked back to win a ball he lost and helped ensured that we didn't concede by the final whistle.

Brighton were the ones that parked the bus and hit us on the counter which worked for them, but during the closing period of that match, Brighton tried to push forward to equalise and Ukaku helped defend our lead. I don't think what Mourinho said is wrong. I hate defensive game so much, but at the ending stage of a match, I don't mind a team defending to protect a lead.

It is not by dribble and shoot all the time like Andros Townsend. All Depay moves seem to end with him being dispossessed while dribbling or shooting over the bar. He needs to learn interplay with his teammates.

At this point Courtois has a gun to our head over his contract expiring in 18 months. We should just give him the £200k he's demanding before he switch it to £350k like Ozil and Sanchez. To buy the Butland they are talking of will prolly cost £40m which is about what we can get for Courtois at this stage anyway.

Traore is not doing badly, he has 3 goals but seems to be a more flexible player upfront for Lyon. I hope Chelsea have some sort of buy back clause on Traore. The few times I have watched him in Ligue 1 and the Europa I was very impressed because he controls the direction of the attack and is difficult to hold back because of his pace and size. He has 3 goals for Lyon this season, however, he is integral to the build up of most of the goals.

I hope you know I am Gunner though..

I hardly watch Ligue 1 games and I am yet to see any Lyon domestic game this season, but based on the europa games I have seen.....ibims post perfectly describes depay for me. He will need to do way better if he wishes to join any of the pl top teams in the future.
