I strongly disagree with the bolded. In fact, mentioning it will rather bring out the positives and negatives of the stock from members in the house for you to know whether you are in the right place or not. )

Think you are right. Mentioning it sometimes might assist in having varied opinion about the particular stock, which may in turn help to make a better decision about it.

The set of people that may be excluded are the technical guys who knows their onions. Ironically, some of them do mention it sometimes.

However, anyone can follow whatever paddle his/her own canoe.

So true. The speech was doctored. IGP that did not assume the role just yesterday. This our politicians are something else.

Modified: Search google for some of his past speeches.

IGP Saga

As a filmmaker, who also heads a film Company, with professionals working under me. I examined the video in detail, not only that, I directed my Head of Productions to also examine it and give me his professional view. The following is our considered view on it.

1. There are jump cuts (about 6) of both on the video and audio.
2. When you concentrate on the fence and canopy behind you will notice flip clips
3. The editor of this video clip used “add-and cross dissolve” on both audio and video.
4. The audio was generously repeated, more than 25% repeated. (The editor repeated the audio cut clip, then join it with another audio clip, then join it to a dissolved video clip, and so on).
5. If you enlarge the video greatly, you will see that it is not totally in sync in places, which supports the clip fault lines. It is clearer if played in slow motion. But you may not see it on an ordinary device especially as the video is not very clear enough.
6. In fact if you import this video on Avid (editing software) time line, it will show each clip layer very clearly.
7. Then the Transmission was repeated several times (3 times).
8. There is no superimposition of the image of the IGP to a different background, namely the fence/canopy, which can be done using Green Screen to achieve created geography, that is, you can be filmed on a sound stage in front of the Green Screen, while a different location (e.g. the canopy background) image is projected live as you are been filmed, or in the editing room. This is such that you can be filmed walking on a sound stage in Abuja in front of the Green Screen, and be seen in a video clip on the street of Lagos or New York.

9. Finally, my verdict: the video was professionally done to discredit the IGP, simple.

I’ve gone to this length to warn us to stop posting or reposting stuffs that you cannot verify. I’ve said it before, it can make you look stupid at best when the truth comes out, or get you and probably the platform in trouble. Verify and confirm before posting, please.

Well done for the professional work. But with due respect, no one here is competing for the IG's job, so what is the bone of contention on the bolded. Who is the IG that one cannot just laugh on, even people make a joke on Trump's (acclaimed No 1 citizen in the world) speech and life still goes on. Have you forgotten the "Diaris God" (Dame Jonathan) issue, "Oga at the top" matter and others. In Nigeria, we are always fund of viewing every topic from the political/sentimental point of view. That is why we are still where we are today. (Loyalty to individuals rather than to the nation)

Conclusion: I posted it here for members to just take a laugh and for once forget about the bearish market and not as you posited. There is absolutely no need to warn anybody here please. Even the so called police hierarchy that is concerned has so far not released the un-doctored/edited IG Speech/version. So, what is the warning about.

For the records, I really do not give a single gram of care if you hold anything against me or not. Your post indirectly spoke to me and I had to reply you. There was nothing (absolute nothing) to learn (for me though) from that incident.

Regards,

To the part in bold, its now clear that the purported post didn't refer to u but 'spoke' to u. ...so pls continue to 'speak' back to it and stay off my track !!

U clearly smack off the impression of one who's been desperately seeking some cheap attention by directly and indirectly mimicking my views and post from the past.
...but u should however be smart enough to perceive that I do not wish to give u any such attention.

I am here to broaden my financial/investment knowledge, ascend on my networth and possibly genuinely guide as many that I can in that regard. ...and I do not like distractions, especially over extraneous affairs.
So pls, for the last time, kindly concentrate on why u are here and focus on it. ...but if u however prefer to ride on trivial matters, then never bring me up on it.

You nailed it. Don't mind the mofo (probably he has been paid to help redeem the battered image of the clueless IGP)

@soloniger, if the video was doctored what about the show of shame by your principal at the armed forces remeberance laying of wreath. Please google it and tell us if that was doctored has well....shior.

For me, I don't care what plays out between him and saraki- na their wahala be that. The point is, the IGP committed blunders which was preventable. Having known his deficiency, he should have stylishly avoided the speech presentation or not show up at all at the event.

My take.

My dear, this is a copy and paste post simply to justify that the video was meant to ridicle the IGP and if I'm not mistaking, it was directed at the media house and not to anyone here in particular.

Also, that parade video was altered as far as Im concerned.

Anyway, it seems the moneybags here doesn't want us to transmit the confusion of the IG transmission saga with Saraki here, therefore I move the motion that we stop transmitting it in this thread.......but the video is so entertaining and funny. grin

Thank you ladies and gentlemen.

In my personal development journey, I learned these lessons from a great mentor about The Seasons of Life. Hopefully it might inspire someone out here. Excuse the lengthy post

Life and business are like the changing seasons. That’s one of the best ways to illustrate life: it’s like the seasons that change. The second phrase is that You cannot change the seasons, but you can change yourself. Now with those two key phrases in mind, let’s turn to what I consider to be the four major lessons in life to learn. To also bring this home: Consider the ‘Winter Season’ as Bear Season and the ‘Spring Season’ as Bull Season.

1. The first lesson is this: learn how to handle the winters. They come regularly, right after autumn. Some are long, some are short, some are difficult, some are easy, but they always come right after autumn. That is never going to change.
There are all kinds of winters–the “winter” when you can’t figure it out, the “winter” when everything seems to go haywire. One writer called it “the winter of discontent.” There are economic winters, social winters, personal winters when your heart is smashed into a thousand pieces. Wintertime brings disappointment, and disappointment is common to all of us. So learn how to handle the winters.
You must learn how to handle the nights; they come right after days. You must learn how to handle difficulty; it always comes after opportunity. You must learn to handle recessions; they come right after expansions. You must learn how to handle bears; they come right after the bulls. That isn’t going to change.
The big question is, what do you do about winters? You can’t get rid of January simply by tearing it off the calendar. But here is what you can do: you can get stronger; you can get wiser; and you can get better. Let winter find you planning for the arrival of spring, not contemplating the errors of commission and omission of last year. Let winter find you with a joyful countenance and a happy heart... with a good word for all those around you; with confidence in the future, not apprehension; with appreciation of the past, not regret; and finally, with gratitude for your achievements, adversities, and uncertainties of life. The physically inactive season of winter is a time for adding to our storehouse of knowledge through continued education, which in truth does not mean learning things that we do not know, but in learning to behave as we do not now behave. Someone once said — “Don’t pray for things to be easier, rather, pray for more obstacles and more challenges, for it is out of these that man’s character and will to succeed are formed.” Nearly every success story that I am aware of began when the person first lay flat on his mental and financial back. In this condition, people usually become sufficiently disgusted to reach deep down inside and pull out talents, abilities, desire, and determination—the basic essentials required of anyone wishing for things to get better. It is in the face of adversity that things begin to change, and the “things” always change as a result of the personal change that takes place.

2. Here is the second major lesson in life: learn how to take advantage of the spring. Spring is opportunity. And spring always follows winter. Spring in stock market investment represents the 'Bull' season
What a great place for spring–right after winter. If you were going to put it somewhere, that would be the place to put it. God is a genius.
Days follow nights. Opportunity follows difficulty. Expansion follows recession. Bulls follow Bears. And this all happens with regularity. You can count on it.
However, the mere arrival of spring is no sign that things are going to look good in the fall. You must do something with the spring. In fact, everyone has to get good at one of two things: planting in the spring or begging in the fall. So take advantage of the day, take advantage of the opportunity, and read every book you can get your hands on to learn how to take advantage of the spring.
Get busy quickly on your springs, your opportunities. There are just a handful of springs that have been handed to each of us. Life is brief, even at its longest. Whatever you are going to do with your life, get at it. Don’t just let the seasons pass by...to be continued

Thanks for this

I just did an expository analysis and found out that the banks are in for some huge earnings return this year. ...especially the 1st tier banks. Earnings will be sustained YoY and quite frankly, it will pay to align with these folks. (...some of them already have good enough smart managers who will most likely be playing out my findings).
The trio of ZENITH, GTB and UBA readily comes to mind.
No wonder there have been several cross deals of huge volumes particularly from amongst 2 of them recently. ...even when the market was down, they resisted the 'urge' to go down in price.

A lot of opportunity for arbitrage loading... wink cheesy grin

Alright Sir, but unfortunately ACCESS and FIRSTBANK are currently 'residing in the intensive care unit of the NSE room'. ...and that's speaking from a fundermental perspective (...their result ain't that good for now).
From among the 3 of GTB, ZENITH and UBA, GT has the least of upside strength.
Better to allign with the 1st tiers with an appreciable upside potential in the short to mid term. ...and best time is now. Though I always advise folks to buy in trenches.
...I particularly love the duo of ZENITH and UBA.
From what I forsea these 2 will likely be best performers from among the FUGAZ 5 this year. ...they are very well placed and with the right stead fundamentally.

Enough said.

...Just my 2 cents.

Crude Oil Lifting Contracts: Winning the Lottery

Champagne week for all the politically connected and trading companies’ agents who circle around the NNPC headquarters as the crude oil lifting contracts list was finally released to the public. Making this list is one of the highlights of the Nigerian oil and gas elite. If you are not on that list, who are you? 50 companies made the list this time, rising from 39 in the last batch. This is the highest ever, but curiously, the term contract was for 2 years as against the typical 1 year tenure. This implies that even if an opposition party succeeds in winning the elections in 2019, they are already burdened by a contract with this set of lottery winners.

On the list are familiar foreign companies — trading companies, refineries, national governments, but the Nigerian companies’ list is a cocktail of traditional crude oil lifters, a construction company, and those pivoting from downstream/oil services to oil lifting — a well-trod route for connected Nigerian companies.

AA Rano (Alhaji Rano, Downstream player); Aipec (Mike Awogboro); AMG (Murtala Muhammad family); Arkleen (Oil Chemicals Company); Barbedos (Downstream); Bono Energy (Oil Trading & Services); Casiva (Shaidu Baiyee/No significant footprint); Cretus (Abiodun Olujimi/Services); Emadeb (Downstream); Eterna (Downstream); Gladius Commodities (Trading); Hinstock; Leighton (Bola Jayeoso); Levene (Banwo & Ighodalo/Ado Bayero); Masters Energy (Uche Ogah/Downstream); Matrix (Abdulkadir Aliu/LPG Trading); MRS (Dantata/Downstream);

Others are, North West (Mrs Akpani/Downstream); Oando (Wale Tinubu/Dahiru Mangal); Sahara Group (Tonye Cole); Ocean Bed (Another Sahara trading subsidiary); Propetrol(Harry Ebohon/Downstream); Prudent (Abdul Sowami/Downstream); Setana (Edward Edozien/Oil Trading); Setraco (Late Abu Imoru family/Construction); Shoreline (Ladi Bada/Qatar Heritage); Ultimate Gas(Alhaji Awalu Ilu/LPG Trading); Voyage (Hajia Bola Shagaya); West African gas (Sahara/NNPC); Zitts and Lords (Samuel Okojie/Oil services); Obat Oil & Gas (Fred Akinrutan/Downstream); Duke Oil (NNPC subsidiary).

Notably, some companies in the 2017-18 list were omitted in this new list —Hyde Energy, Brittania-U, Optima Energy, Emo Oil. They probably lost out. Or maybe not. There are talks that the list released by the newspapers is not exhaustive and the number of contractors could still rise to over 60. May the best-connected win.

101 PLACES TO BORROW MONEY IN NIGERIA

One of the challenges of business men and
women, traders or investors is
FINANCE or CAPITAL.
No matter how little the capital you need to
start up may look at, if you dont have it or
cant get it, certainly you can not start
the business.
There are so many Ways a smart investor
can use to raise capital or finance
for their businesses, they are
1. Personal savings
2. Family and friends
3. Cooperative
4. Micro finance
5. Angel investors
6. Loan

1. Personal savings: This is usually the first
step, as an investor or a trader or an entreprenuer
you should have something in your account or a token
to start with, majority of business men and women
will need XYZ amount for their businesses and want
to raise all from loans or other sources, you need
#1m for your business and you want to raise all from
micro finance bank, commercial bank or finance houses
that is the beginning of failure, even micro finance
banks will surely request for equity contribution
which they see as your commitment to the process,
safe certain percentage of your income or salary.

2. Family and friends: this is another smart way
an investor can use to raise caiptal for his or
her business. The truth of the matter is that
"No one trust you better than or knows you
better than your friends". But sourcing capital
or finance for your business from family and
friends requires a lot of INTEGRITY.
You must good INTEGRITY or GOODWILL or REPUTATION
before them.
Also, in using this window or option, please note
Dont meet one person, spread your options. eg
If you need #500,000 capital, #50k from ten (10)
family and friends will give you #500k, dont focus
on one person because it may be too huge or big for
one person to give you #500k.

I will continue from next time.
