Super Eagles Final Training Pre-Atlético Madrid : Kelechi Nwakali, Ikouwem Shine

The Super Eagles had their final training session on Monday evening before a glamour friendly with Europa League winners Atlético de Madrid at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Apart from Roma striker Sadiq Umar who has stayed away from camp, and the reason given is that he is nursing an injury he picked up at NAC Breda, all the invited foreign-based players named to the roster took part in the workout.

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr did not attend the session; Salisu Yusuf and goalkeeper coaches Pionetti Enrico and Alloy Agu put the players through their paces.

After the usual warm-up and stretching exercises, Yusuf split the squad into two groups for a training game which ended goalless.
Enugu Rangers goalkeeper Femi Thomas, Musa Mohammed, Tosin Omoyele, Usman Mohammed, Chidiebere Nwakali, Stanley Okorom, Dayo Ojo and Adeleye Olamilekan were members of the team wearing orange bibs.

Akwa United goalie Olorunleke Ojo, who was later replaced by Femi Kayode in the second period of the practice game, Kelechi Nwakali,
Austria Vienna's Alhassan Ibrahim, Emem Eduok, Ikouwem Utin and Raphael Ayagwa were among the players that did not wear bibs.
Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali and Ikouwem, who played on the flank, performed well in the practice game.
Ayagwa would have won the game for the team without bibs but missed a spot kick, the training session lasted for about one and a half hours.

I think 8 defenders will be too surplus. 7 should be OK.

Well, I may just so too. But Rohr has the final say.

It is just like when something is thrown at u suddenly, it is either you act to dogge or catch.

This is Messi's style.

That's a good one.

I guess it is no longer news that Osimhen's Wolfsburg survived the relegation playoffs. They won the second leg 1-0 against Holstein and maintains their status in the bundesliga in 2018/2019..
agg score win was 4-1.
So they've escaped relegation back to back.

Spain’s roster also shows that they patronize their own league. After all, it is arguably the best in the world (do not quote on this point).

wishere was playing for arsenal, his not injured till the end of the season, he was playing the europa games, but the coach already took his decision after there last friendly.

Bros you can read na, stop arguing

Oga! 'Southgate was unimpressed with Wishere's fitness.....' That was the quote from your source.

Abi you no sabi fitness with injury record?

Eventhough, he played all Arsenal matches it doesn't mean he was 100% fit. That was what Southgate noticed not injury record.

Injury record in the sense that because he is prone to injury in the past, he should be dropped. Na lie be that.

Therefore, if Joel Obi is 100% fit, he should not be dropped because of his injury record. Aha! Shikena! Aha!

i believe his better keepee than Akpeyi and Ezenwa. not too sure about akpeyi but his definitely better than Ezenwa.

I think Ezenwa need to be checked very well, his not been playing for enyimba of late.

It depends on necessities and strength of the team.Chile took 5 defenders to the last WC.

Odion Ighalo is the only natural CF in that team. We may just need another in Simi. We know Iheanacho does not measure up well in 4-5-1. We tried Musa there against Serbia and he was almost missing for 90mins. What if Ighalo get suspended or injured and we have to play a 4-5-1. We may just need another CF in Simi.

If you carry 8 defenders to the WC you may likely not use more than 6 all through the tournament.

Rohr has the final say and may likely go with 8 defenders and drop Simi but I am just looking at it from another angle.

No sir, sampioli chile team played 3'5-2 and the right wing backs and left wing back were listed as midfielder. players like isla played in the right wing back but was listed in midfield position.

is just like excluding moses and Alonso from Chelsea defenders.

Iheanacho could lead the line, he did it against Argentina and goal rained, simy could be added to the team and taking off one midfielder.

All top team listed 8 defenders in there team

Odion Ighalo Arrives In Lagos, Joins Super Eagles Uyo Training Camp Today

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Watford star Odion Ighalo landed in Lagos from London on Tuesday morning and has given his word that he will link up with his international teammates in Uyo later today.
The Super Eagles are expected to train this morning as the friendly with La Liga outfit Atlético de Madrid will take place at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium this evening, starting from 1800 hours.
Ighalo is guaranteed a seat on the plane to Russia in what would be his first World Cup and will be hoping to impress the coaching staff led by Gernot Rohr during the training camp so as to cement his spot in the starting line-up.

Speaking on the upcoming friendly against England, Ighalo said : ''England have a very good and fantastic team, we are not going to underrate them.
''We have a good team too, but at the end of that day it will be eleven players against eleven players on the pitch.
''I am looking forward to that game because I have played in the Premier League before and I'll like to see some familiar players on the pitch again.''

The penalty box predator is enjoying one of his most prolific seasons to date, with six goals in his last five games for Chinese club Changchun Yatai before his trip to Africa.

So they've escaped relegation back to back.

That's not q sign of progression it actually makes it very hard for young players to break through.

It would be better for Osimhen if they were relegated have limited money and obviously loose some players. In this circumstance they are then forced to look in-house and give opportunity to academy players.

I talked about this ages ago when I had dealings with them.

It's like saying because it's not made public that there is no racism in football. We have only 2 or 3 Black managers in the entire professional leagues in England. That tells you something.

Why do you think Grey left Burnley.

Finally until they buy him Simon it's all speculative.

Don't think that's an option he simply is not a center forward see bold.

We most definitely need another CF and although Simy is not exceptional under the circumstances he is one of our better options as it stands.
