This is very correct. Coaches are avoiding the job because the team is actually unsettled and no coach will be given leeway to do and undo like Zizou was. I doubt the players will even respond to any coach as much as they did to Zidane and even that came in spurts.

I think RM are actually getting poised to have a bad season in the next one. But I am not making a dooms day prophecy. I think how they handle CR7, The striking position, the independence of the manager and the roster will say a lot.

Zidane could not motivate the players to give him their all in the league or cups. He caught a break in the UCL but it would have been the tallest task to go for number 4 and any Semi final finish that did not go in tandem with a league title would have been a scandal. I guess zizou saw the cul de sac and scrammed.

Going forward, they need to look in-house to get a replacement. Sadly, I don’t think whoever it is will achieve much as I don’t know who CR7 respects as such plus we know Pérez will not pay him that money he is asking for at 34.

It was a good run though. One we had never seen before with the 3UCL titles and 4 of the last 5. The drought is coming. The end is near.

Zidane was not given the leeway to do and undo, he took it. Zidane was stubborn and i like him for that. Just look at the Navas saga, even when Perez was trying to bring Kapa to Real Madrid Zidane was adamant that Navas is his number 1 and he doesn't need any new goalkeeper.

Furthermore, look at the Real Madrid squad under Zidane. Perez didn't make any big signings why because Zidane told him that he is comfortable with the squad he has and any big signing might distort the chemistry of the squad.

Kane that just signed a new 5 year contract.

I cant imagine us signing Conté or whatever his name is.

Presently, our football philosophy is "You can score us it wont matter because we will out score you anyway". a very progressive football.

Now if we sign Conté our philosophy will become "Don't score us because we have no interest in scoring you. But if we manage to score you, even our fans will help us defend the goal." a very retrogressive football.
