Matured Igbo Man! Unlike the cone-headed omoluabeasts that will spit fire and brimstone. But she will later regret her decision.

Btw, why do these yamayama people come to NL to abuse Igbos but still masturbate at the sight of our women?

who we not want to associate with Yoruba men? they don't need to spend much to convince ladies because they give maximum time and romance to their woman and their love for other tribes is second to none, so I'm not surprise

we can only be fighting here but in real life we are one, never have I see Yoruba and Igbo clash somewhat of hurting theirselves but the rate Igbo girls they fall for Yoruba men ehn!

1: Why is this news?
2: Why is this on front page?
Because the Yoruba/Igbo squabbling on Nairaland is so rampant that it’s easy to forget how well they get on in the real world (outside the realm of politics).

Speaking personally, having grown up with as many close Igbo friends as Yoruba ones, people I would have trusted even with my life, I would never have imagined that so many Igbos held so much hatred and resentment of Yorubas as I have seen revealed online, not just on this website but anywhere Nigerians are allowed to make public comments. Things have come to a point over the last few years where I’ve gradually been brought to wonder if the same virulently anti-Yoruba sentiments I see online aren’t shared to at least some degree by even the Igbos I thought I knew so well growing up in Lagos, because the ones espousing hate always seem to heavily outnumber the more sensible and open-minded ones. Stories like this one help to show that the “Afonja” blaming lunatics don’t necessarily speak for every Igbo person.

Young man you are not being realistic. I have seen and heard majority of Igbos from Anambra and some parts of Imo say trash about Mbaise people. I have met Mbaise people of very good character so please you people should talk to your self to stop your deep rooted resentment against Mbaise.

You Yorubas have a knack for blowing Igbo matters out of proportion.

Stereotypes are common occurrences all over the world. Some of them are superficial cultural nuances reflective of human foibles and idiosyncrasies.

Stop making it look as if it is exclusively peculiar to the Igbos.

It worked in the past: creating fissures among the Igbos.
Right now we are inseparably together/united as a people so please stop being more Catholic than the Pope.

Who wouldn't he be?

An igbo woman is an upgrade to whatever they are used to in their part of Nigeria.

It is like a Nigerian married to a Latino. It is an upgrade.

what is this one saying?

nwanne, you na bad guy.

well sha, i think the reason the man accepted the daughter's choice is simply because he is a man and men normally have very powerful and trustworthy understanding most especially in matters like this.

let's first wait and hear what her probably igbo mama will say... tongue
As far as father don agree, the mother don agree even before the meeting. lol. Mothers have no issue with who their daughter is getting on with as far as the guy is capable.Mothers are only concerned about who their son is bringing in. Maka their own allowee/ economy.

It is normal.

I don't think Yoruba women are among the most desired women in the south.

So I can understand his happiness . He is hoping to hit the igbo lottery.

Igbo women are like the Latino and Russians of Nigeria.
Most men want a taste of them.

His stupidity though is in saying that she did not find an igbo man worthy.

He does not realize that if that girl sees a good igbo man in the states, Her own father will tell her to reconsider.

I agree, besides it takes more to impress and attract for keeps a young eligible up-wardly mobile Igboman than Yoruba man..

.I as an Igbo lady know that and i like them for that..Not the ones that will want to sleep with and marry for keeps every Jennifer,Kate,Stephanie they come across ...at the same time!!!

As I said earlier, that shouldn’t be your major concern. Your major concern should be that most of the Igbo girls will keep bearing a Yoruba name. According to the Yoruba tradition, baba omo lo lomo (the father is the owner of the child). By projection, if this trend continues, the Igbos might go extinct one day coz most of them would have lost their identities to the Yorubas. So Okoro that should be your concern.
