You've said it all my bro. Iheanacho can't dribble, can't outrun defenders, can't even control the ball. He is just a good shooter/finisher. He may thrive in a team with a good midfield where he will be fed plenty of chances. With the current state of our team, Ighalo remains the best striker for us......at least for now.
It's the point I've been trying to make. If you don't want to invite Ighalo fine - but don't say Nacho should replace him. It isn't going to work.

But you are the one who has been pushing a lame defence because even with SE form, Ighalo has been poor.
Besides, you never pointed it out in your original post. And saying you meant SE performances ONLY still does not validate Ighalo because he too have been poor in recent games in front of goal (including WC games) and then, extending it, throughout his Super Eagles stay, he has been piss poor unlike Nacho whose Overall goals record in GWG colors is great.

edi287:

After I explained to you that I meant SE performances yet you kept pushing it. I've told you what I meant. Let's end this talk

Thanks so much Marvellous Basco. Same thing I have been saying for ages. I said and analysed during those debates that Mbappe will develop along the line of a true physical monster. He is the ultimate teen athlete right now. Physically strong, super fast, and got skills to go with it all. It is no wonder his idol from age 14 or so till now is Cristiano Ronaldo.

For the Physical aspects, I rate Mbappe far ahead of Nacho. Their development won't be the same. Mbappe is developing into a physically imposing, super fast, super skillful Lethal forward... He is brawn and brains... But Nacho is taking the path of the more brains than brawn. His Vision, Finishing and ability to exploit space as a true raumdeuter make him another lethal weapon in development.

Two players, different paths but yes all-round, I will say Mbappe is better... but breaking it down to aspects of plays and individual qualities.. we all will see unbiasedly that both soar in certain attributes over the other with Mbappe having a little more over Nacho and Nacho having some over Mbappe.

This is why I maintain the gap in quality between both youngsters is not large as many want us to believe.

Isaac Success is more closer to Mbappe in the physical regard.

I insist that it is worldwide, go on Twitter or any other forum and fetch 5 comments stating Iheanacho is better than Mbappe, I will refer you to 500 contradicting this, isn't that unanimous enough?

I'm sorry, fella, but this comparison is too ridiculous for me to counter.

Looks like a solid guy defensively. He enjoys overlapping and not overly speedy, could have problems against speedy wingers.

He is however a very good interceptor of the ball. Could make a good defensive midfielder in the long run.

While he was poor, Ighalo had a better performance than Nacho. This isn't up for debate.
I went further in my initial post because if you ask who replaces Ighalo, most of you will say Nacho.
We all know Rohr is going back to his 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 formation. Nacho isn't a better option than Ighalo to lead the line - this is a fact that has been proven over and over again.
If we play 4-4-2 or 3-5-2, fine you can replace Nacho with Ighalo. But as a target man, it is pointless. There's no point in being a great finisher if you can't lead the line. Podolski was the best finisher for the German national team when he was at his peak yet he barely started as a LW or a CF...this is Germany we're talking about oo...not a SE without our most creative player.
That's why I've gone further.

Had a better performance? Lol... Without goals? Look at how we promote failure for the team... Lol

So Nacho have not had fine performances too in all his time for Nigeria upfront? This is soooooooo presposterous in its thinking. Hahahaha

Even against Iceland, Nacho had a very decent game. He even started the move for our first goal. Funny. Lol...

Look, the huge difference between Nacho and Iggy is that Nacho is far more clinical even as a makeshift no.9. As a forward, he is the all round better option too for Nigeria in almost any set-up. Even in a 4-2-3-1, Nacho is showing fine improvememts... All his preseason goals came as a top 9. He has also scored as a top 9 three times for us in addition to struggling as a top 9 against SA.

But after all is said and done, Nacho is the more lethal and better clinical forward compared to Iggy. Period.

Ighalo was better vs Argentina despite the missed chances. Ighalo had a better cameo against Iceland. He certainly held the ball up better and won fouls.
Rohr did not invite Ighalo back and immediately put him back in the starting 11 over Nacho in a 4-2-3-1 because he hates Nacho.
When last has Rohr played Nacho as a 9 since then?

Lol... Nacho Cameo vs Croatia nko? Didn't it Trump Iggy's poor showing?

Against Iceland, no one can say Nacho was poor. He was very decent. Fact. Ighalo came in and also did good.

Against Argentina... Nacho played with a knock picked up from the Iceland game and was still trusted upfront in a risky move by Rohr in a do-or-die game. Why? because even Rohr knows that Nacho is more of a threat goals-wise than Ighalo. But sadly ,. It backfired and Nacho got smashed with a boot to the face and had to be taken off at halftime.

Ighalo came on and started so brightly.... He pressed.. dazzled and shone. This was the Iggy we all wanted to see and more... And when the time came for him to give us that more... What happened? He flunked! That one moment spoilt all his good work. The bottomoime remains that Ighalo's abysmal SE goals record persists. He has to put a stop to the poor run.

Iggy is a natural and will get the nod in a lone striker set-up but if we want goals, sadly his record shows he has been so abysmal unlike Nacho.

Who Is Paderborn Jamilu Collins ? The Lowdown On Super Eagles New Left Back- Nigerian With Croatian Passport

Jamilu Collins of German second division side Paderborn has been called up to the senior national team of Nigeria, so who is Jamilu Collins?

Early and personal life

He was born in Kaduna State Nigeria on the 5th of August 1994 and named Jamilu even though his father is from the Niger Delta area of Nigeria . The name was given to him by his mother, who hails from the northern part of Nigeria.

Club career:

Collins was spotted on the streets of Kaduna State by Football Academy Abuja, an affiliate of Croatian side HNK Rijeka and in 2013 moved to Croatia alongside other players of the Abuja based Academy.

In Croatia, he was loaned out by Rijeka to then third division side Pomorac to help him adjust to life in Europe, he still found games hard to come by ‎upon his return to Rijeka and he was subsequently loaned out to Slovenian side NK Krka.

Another loan spell at top division Croatian side HNK Sibenik was next on the card for him but injury saw him miss most of the season although that didn’t stop Rijeka from offering him a two year contract extension.

Despite signing an extension, the club decided to yet again send him on another loan spell, this time around he was sent back to HNK Sibenik‎ and after his loan spell his contract was terminated as the club lost patience in his development as a player.

Swift Rise

Collin got married to the mother of his kid and was granted Croatian citizenship and it helped him seal a move to then German third division side Paderborn ‎as none European Union players are not permitted to play in the third division in Germany.

At Paderborn he was a regular as they secure promotion to the second division as champions and after playing in their three games this season, he has been rewarded with a spot in the senior national team of Nigeria.

International Career.

Not many are aware of the fact that he represented Nigeria at the Toulon Youth Tournament in 2013 for the Nigerian U20 team under the guidance of coach John Obuh but he missed out on selection for the main U-20 World Youth tournament after playing in just one game during the preparatory tournament.

Style of play

A left full back but he originally started out as a winger and that has helped him develop into a left wing back like most modern day full backs are called.

He is very comfortable with the ball at his feet and can also whip in crosses with precision. His marking abilities which were the main draw back in his game has been polished in Germany alongside his tactical awareness and movements.

Our SE players are too comfortable. It’s not helping them in SE colors. We need fierce competition in the National team at all times to promote excellence. If Joel Obi had been dropped before, trust me he will put in a better fight when he is given another chance. These crop of players are not far ahead of others putting in decent shifts in Europe. Hence, they shouldn’t be sitting tight regardless of how they perform in SE colors.

TheLoneCitizen:

What do you mean "predictable with his midfield", do you want him to be erratic? The right word here, brother, is 'consistent' .

It’s gonna be hard for us to come up with a standard of measure if going by our arguments for so many pages is anything to go by. One man says we should rate players based on the league they play. Has Etebo suddenly become a poor player Warming the bench in the Championship? There are many factors to look into. Opportunity is the keyword. You never know who is better than who though there’re are indicators which are rather suggestive than conclusive.

daveP:
Seems we can create some kind of report card with categories so we can list players in different levels of club levels and those we can class in the red flag zone.

we will take their playing stats and their club relevance and identity and use it to model a general scoreboard for most of our players playing in different leagues. their moves from club to club and trophies etc. what dyu think?

Firstly I will say I am not surprised at the list.

On Kelechi Nwakali, I think he grabbed the only opportunity he was given against Athletico Madrid. I think he did enough in that game to earn this recall, especially as Mikel has not been invited.

On Ighalo, well, Rohr knows best. I for one would not have wished Rohr to called him back. Well, but it is the game against Seychelles. May be another opportunity to redeem his image.

Okay I did some quick digging and the strangest name on that list is actually named "Jamilu" not Jamiu according to Transfermarkt... He is a left back in Bundesliga 2.

He's played 180 mins of Bundesliga 2 football and 90 mins in the DFB Pokal (German FA Cup). With him in the team, they have recorded two wins (one in league and one in cup) and a loss (in the league).

Here is his profile...

With this kind of player making the list, it simply means contrary to what many think here the SE scouts are working.

On the list....I was hoping for some fresh faces since it is Seychelles [not underrating them].....on the other hand...i thought....perhaps he does not want to EXPERIMENT...he is WAITING FOR FRIENDLIES to invite most players we expect and some dual nationality players. We must understand that we have a very CONSERVATIVE coach given to mild tinkering...this was ONE OF THE REASONS they sacked him in Burkina Faso though he lead them well

Kalu and Jamilu[not Jamiu] are really the new faces..bar injury Onyekuru had been part of the team....and I THINK HE IS GOING TO BE NEW POSTER BOY.

So if that's the highest they can get, it's a very nice highest.
