Modric had a great world cup, if that was one of the criteria, which we don't think it is.

I dont think World cup should be use as a criteria in this UEFA case.. Is a pure rubbing. I like the way both the Juve director and CR7 agent speak out ahead of Baron d'or coming soon.

while i agree with this. how much influence does UEFA has over who wins if the system is open to 100% voting by coaches and team captains?
if that is the case, as a real madrid fan myself, i think people just have issues with his attitude, which i have too, not his performance. he's attitude of playing god and very low team spirit. sometimes, no mater what you achieve, some people get irritated by your attitude.

This has nothing to do with world cup.

Ronaldo may be the angel of soccer, but Modric is the Wizard of OZ. However in a world cup year the performance of players in the world cup are also considered not only champions league . Remember Italy winning world cup and fabio cannovaro who was the captain getting the UEFA title. Modric was spectacular in the world cup, Ronaldo was a flop in the world cup. Modric deserves it.. Case closed.

Uefa award is strictly on the Champions league performance that's why clubs that don't participate won't be recognized even if they win their local leagues

Says who? Have you forgotten how Ballon d'Or voting was extended after Ronaldo's stellar performance against Sweden which saw him win. Journalists and coaches who participate in the voting system take certain factors into cognizance.

Luka deserves it too in my opinion. Time to quit making the overall best a sole concentrate of strikers/goal scores. A team usually consists of goal keepers, defenders, midfielders and attackers.

Where a weak link exists in any of this makeup, scoring or winning as a team would usually be a mirage.

As a registered real Madrid fan ,that watched every single madrid game last season,Luka modric ,100% deserved the award ,he was everywhere on the pitch last season.
