JeromeBlack: Bro, when I tell people that if there's ever a second coming, I still want to be black, but don't ever want to be born anywhere near Africa especially Nigeria, the emboldened is exactly why I do say it. The emboldened questions left me laughing because once again you're blaming the whites only and ignoring our dumb leaders. Read the link below, it exposes how useless, pathetic, backward and myopic our leaders are. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/03/history-ends-nigeria/ While the whites embraces the past and try to learn from it where necessary, in our case, our fellow blacks REMOVED History from our curriculum. The whites had absolutely nothing to do with why we don't learn or write History in our institutions. Your fellow blacks caused it. But here you go again blaming them. How did the whites stop us from learning or teaching History? Was a white man our president when we banned History subject in Nigeria? Our leaders scared of the atrocities and destruction of their past activities banned History so the next generations will not learn the truth. This is the 20th century and we're independent, what's stopping us from teaching slave topics in our school even though they are foreign curriculum? The excuse that we're using foreign curriculum doesn't hold water. We are just too foolish to realize histories are meant to be retold, preserved and passed down from generation to generation. Oyibos tell their stories, maybe hide the devilish ones, but we destroy ours and promulgate laws to remove any vestige of our past. Just like the slave masters wouldn't let go of their slaves without a fight, the whites may never tell the full stories, but it's up to the slaves to fight for their freedom, it's up to us the Africans to make it mandatory that our stories are published and brought to the screens for generations to learn of the atrocities of the whites. It's up to us to make it a part of History curriculum. The whites won't do that for u. The whites are pioneers of slavery, but they have tried at least to some good extent to tell the stories of our sufferings in over 20 movies. What have we done as Africans to show the evil the slave trade wrecked on us? By producing IQ-depeleting movies Like Blackberry Babes part 1 to 6. The whites owes us nothing when it comes to telling our stories, if we're too unperturbed to tell it, then let's shut the hell up and continue living in stupidity. I 1 Like |

JeromeBlack: LOL. Our ratings will differ, you will never agree that it's a better movie than Infinity War, but I can assure you that you won't rate the movie anything less than 8. |

Beorn: Bro, you post a 2014 article from the Vanguard about removing history from the curriculum. That is a house Nigger move mennn. How can you blame our leaders for a problem that white people started? Our leaders only made it worse. 1) History was never properly taught from the beginning of Nigerian education in the 19th century. 2) History was already dead in the schools, as noted by your vanguard article. 3) The vanguard article is poorly referenced and poorly written, it doesnt quote any source from the ministry of education 4) Oga, I am not a small boy, I finished secondary school long before 2014 In summary, you desperately went in search of stuff to defend your white slave master. Stop that. Jokes aside, there is another reason why slave trading history is not known or accepted in Nigeria. Religion. A christian will never accept that the Europeans that came to pack slaves were God-fearing christians. The bible supports slavery as well. The whites brainwashed our forefathers with christianity. Then there is islam. The muslim Arabs were the original slave traders of blacks. Slavery is supported in islam. Which muslim is ready to accept this truth. Oga, the white man carries most of the blame today for us not knowing our history. You cannot argue against this fact. I am not surprised that many Nigerian movie producers cannot make slavery films. The worst is that our producers even paint the white missionaries as good people. Cognitive dissonance does not allow them to see meaning in Chinua Achebe's "Things Fall Apart". *drops mic* |

JeromeBlack: We both agreed that whites pioneered slave trade and caused extreme pains on us with it. I'm not arguing that. I'm not also arguing that the whites haven't done enough on the FULL details of our harrowing experience in that era. But what are we doing about it as Africans? What's stopping us from saying our side of the story? If the whites won't tell the full gory stories, why are we mum about it? These are the important questions to ask. Why weren't the FG trying to involve scholars and historians to interview people that survived the slave trades, the various families affected who lost their loved ones? The FG are busy looting our wealth to care about these things. Those bastards are more interested in taking our money abroad to bother. We're not helping matters. The whites will never tell the full story and the dumb Africans are too docile to act. Hotel Rwanda was a Hollywood production telling an African story about the Rwanda genocide. How many African-produced films have talked more on the genocide? Therein lies the problem. In Rwanda, the Tutsis genocide by the Hutus are being taught in schools despite the painful experience behind it, but here in Naija, History which has been massively edited by the whites was removed entirely. Why are we this useless? The whites are to be blamed but the blacks are aiding them cover up their atrocities. 1 Like |

Wedding party 2...2/10 Genre: Comedy My question is, how do you even begin to refer to something as dry & awful as this as comedy??.The first one was definitely better than this crap. Not withstanding its inability to live up to its genre, I have to applaud the movies showcase of the rich splendor of the African Nigeria customs & traditions( Traditional marriage rites), our various Nigerian delicacies, our awesome fashion sense, etc, many of these elements invoked a nostalgic feeling in me. Though some of these elements were not properly represented/ misrepresented in a bid to achieve humour, but they failed woefully. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Beorn: Okay. So now that we are on the same page. I am a film producer myself. I just need funding. I need to raise 5 million Naira for my documentary on neo- colonialism. I am also an African prince. My account no is 4196666419. GTB bank. Please donate. Jokes apart, it is easy to blame Nigerian producers for not taking on educational projects but would you invest in their projects when they want to do such? |

JeromeBlack: I blame them and the FG because they're the biggest culprits. Who brought the Holocaust movies to our screen if not for Hollywood? So what excuses do we have? Are our movies even intelligent? The average Nigerian movie (except for the new ones) takes few weeks or even a month to produce, while scripting alone in Hollywood takes several months. In Dangal, the director read about the story, interviewed the family to get insight of the movie he's about to produce, then went on a diet for months to assume the role of the man whose family were being talked about. Spielberg took several months gathering information about the Holocaust story, reading the book, interviewing the man that told the story, getting the right script about the movie. He famously sent back one of the script writers when he found her script to be too short to infuse all the details he needed. He extended the "ghetto liquidation scene" because he had read the book and wanted that scene to convey the message of pain. This shows a man that's interested in story. How many of our directors can be this bothered about any story on slavery? Do they even read books on slave trades? Are there even books on slave trades from a Nigerian POV about what happened over here? The excuse of sponsorship is not strong enough. Genevieve Nnaji's latest Braveheart movie was not produced with her own money alone, she got other sponsors who invested in the movie. A top director like Kunle Afoloyan with connections to influential men in power can get sponsors if he's interested in such movies. Or maybe, just maybe, if they can write a good script worthy of adaptation and pitch it to these Hollywood companies, one of them may sponsor them. They don't need my meager cash to produce good movies. That's not an excuse. |

TheKingIsHere:The autopsy of Jane Doe 7/10 Rather than frightening, I find it very educative. It Gave me insights on the way autopsy is carried out. Also contains many repulsive and nauseating scenes. I wouldn't call it a typical horror movie though Wolf creek 2 6/10 Lol...I will resist all the urge to call it a senseless movie. The only "horror thingy" about it is the splattering of blood all through the movie. Been busy. I'll watch it follows and evil dead later today. Also, I just downloaded "the first purge" . Should I go ahead and watch it or is it a total waste of time? 1 Like |
