Nigeria is the proudest country, IRONICALLY.
Even countries wen get better leagues than us no proud. Fix your country then you can become proud of something.

charlesemeka85:
And who told u they re not interested anymore in the youngster?
I saw online few weeks ago that Renard intend visiting him in London for more discussion. Do you know how many times ziyech turned down morroco before he had a change of hrt? Make we no dey form pride wey we no get so I see no reason if we approach them a thousand times and if it works out fine and if we fail they re lots of them to still approach

even if he should calls...
he should be ignored for a while...
to see if he has interest playing for us...
those waiting time should be a test...
sometimes we don't value what comes so cheap...moreover in country football you need commitment to get the best from players...even with skills and technique... commitment keep players in national teams.

you all know the frustrations players like mikel, etebo and even Troost went through in the last Olympic... only a player with hunger and commitment will not retire country football after such.

we all are talking of Moses...someone like ighalo can never ply such route even if 3 agents give him such advise.

You just nailed it Sir.
With the setup in our national team, only the committed and determined players will "endure to the end"

Oga player selection in the national team should be on merit not by mere sentiment so it's not a must every youth international must make it to the senior team. The apex team of the nation is meant for the very best that country can boast of and if all are fb so be it. So many African teams are taking the same route, the likes of civ.senegal, morroco etc are trying all they could to lure their lost sons abroad home so I see nothing bad if we do the same.

you make me laugh with your mention of Morocco.
even with all the knee begging and absorbing of foreign born players in their team...they could barely get a draw against Iran in the last world cup....

you seems to have forgotten how mahrez treated the Algeria team...he left camp
in the mid of their world cup qualifying trauma to go sign dotted lines in England which later failed.

I doubt if a fully home groomed Algerian player will do that.
you remember Mohammed abdultrika of Egypt.
these are commitments you don't get easily from foreign born players

Eeyah Bros

Was so surprised you skipped the instruction

Those days, we were always told to read instructions first before answering the questions during exams

The instruction there is to do the "matching and correlation" yourself

Now which of those items on the left side best suit your submissions on this thread?

Balogun is no Tiago silva nor Ramos. He is a perennial bench warmer at the ripe age of 30 let alone when he is 34. Maybe then he will be in the thai league then
He's talking about style of play. Balogun relies more on positioning and reading of the game than his physical qualities. Defenders like him last longer.
He needs to leave Brighton sha

there should be a get together camping sometimes in the UK to hear this players out...most of the British groomed players considering their conservative nature will not Voice out or declare like that... such camping will give them the opportunity to meet with the coach to tell their interest.

Sentiment from the highest order. I remember how we walloped the same Iran in 2014 world cup. In current fifa rating which team is rated the better Team BTW Nigeria n morroco? Mahrez issue was a personal one so do not generalize. Prior to our 1st or 2nd match in 2004 afcon babayaro n one other player left the teams hotel for a night out in one of the clubs in the city they were based, I guess they re fb also since breaking camp rules is synanymous with fb players alone

That's one of the thongs wrong with the black man... We see everything white as being better...Did you miss the part where I said we should only approach the ones we really need? Why waste time chasing foreign born players when we can spend more time and resources on grooming our own local players? People always complain about our league and youth team getting little financial assistance but they don't wonder if the money being spent to chase foreign born players could be channeled into helping the home grown players and the league? Look at the super eagles past and present, how many foreign born players have actually helped us achieve success on the continent and world level before ? Iheanacho, Ndidi,Musa,Success,Uzoho,Chukwueze, Osimhen... Those are products of our youth system and local league... Are they not good enough?
All the African countries that have been getting foreign born players to play for them what have they achieved with them? Morocco went to the world cup with a squad filled with foreign born players... why didn't they win it?

See ehn,I'm not in any way against the calling of foreign born players to the national team.. But let's call up only those we need... The ones that can actually improve the team....
if they aren't ready to play for us let's forget them and move on.. No be by force..

Why was it a must that the French team to the last world cup were 90% black?

There's no point in using the French team to justify the need to call up foreign born players at all... Its a totally different matter... Majority of the players in the French team may have African parentage but they were born in France.. They started their football career in France....As far as football is concerned they are 100% French made... Africa only contributed to the parentage part...nothing more...

Maybe if France had called up players from Guinea, ivory coast,Mali, Togo and Niger we for agree....

Which one is everything white again? Bros dem no dey hide talent and quality ooo! So because akpoguma and uduokahi re halfcast they re not better than awaziem? The same petty sentiment that will led us no where in all ramifications as a nation. If an European country like the French can accomadate alot of black players just to be victorious and build one of the best national teams of our time i see nothing wrong with having players who atleast have Nigerian gene running through their veins

you seems not to get my point...
the keyword is "commitment"

you don't get this cheap...not even from home groomed players.

it is however more pronounced with foreign born players.
that's my point.
these guys are coming from a nearly perfect systems...to a country where the basic things and supports are not even there it brings culture shock and tempt their patience.

you remember during the first 2 yrs of iwobi stay in the national team the long epistles you read on how football goes in Nigeria, the fans etc.... they're completely different from what obtainable in Europe.

I never said we should call up vardy, hummels nor de Jong. I am only saying that the inclusion of some of this kids who have shown that they re good enough for our team will be a welcomed development. Moreover they have Nigerian ties so they equally have the same fundamental rights like u and i

You are missing the point again

France called up players that are ready to spill blood for their national team be they black or white.

Now, are those Chaps you mentioned ready to represent us presently?.

Atleast they have shown a bit of commitment by not shutting the door on us totally. If their rescind their decision to rep us tomorrow it will be a win win situation for the team and Nigeria in general. Since they re yet to be capped on the international stage by their country of birth and still leaves the door open for a possible switch then we stand a chance. The only player I have given up on is torunarigha who with his good form stands the chance to be a German international very soon but the likes of uduokahi and akpoguma who re not anywhere near the German first team we stand a chance still

You guys should not get me wrong. My position is Rohr to have enough quality at his disposal be it homegrown or fb. I never said the whole team should be flooded with fb players all through but if we can get good ones who can fill in the gap where the team is lacking I see nothing wrong with that.

The issue of disrespecting or disregarding us by turning us down at the first approach is a no brainer to me. If we can lure players like akpoguma and uduokhai who re merely 23 and 20 yrs old its a sort of guareentee that the teams defence line is a bit secured for the future. These re players who will represent us for another decade if possible and will as well bring in quality with stiff competition for places. The English fa are trying as much as they could to tie down westham's youngster rice not because he will be slotted immediately to the team but for future purpose. same goes to Tammy, solanke, lookman and co. They put the future into consideration and re trying as much as they could to prepare themselves ahead of time.

I still.maintain boss humility017 stands abt invitation on FB invitation (ie,go for those willing to play for us)

However u kinda paint a pic of us not having a future team of super eagles once dis phase of generation begins to retire, nope chief,we still get d U23-U15(future stars),and many unknown future home grown players we re yet to discover, d fact is many fb players will still decline our offer,no matter aw we make it attractive to dem,so d earlier we discover and nurture talents here,d better for us.my opinion though cool
