Good day gurus in the house! pls I have a question that needs urgent answer because am confused right now.

I am a fresh graduate who just completed NYSC last year December and currently have no job yet.

My uncle says he wants me to come to United States this year and he wants to use his best friend's wedding coming up in june as a medium to bring me over. Again, he told me that he would be getting his citizenship by december this year and he said when he finally gets it, he can use the medium and file for me next year only if I can wait till then.

My problem now is that I really want to try that of his best friend's wedding coming up in June since am not even sure he might get the citizenship by this year as proposed and the wedding will still pass me by.

Meanwhile, I have no major traveling experience, I have only been to South Africa and Ghana all my life and again I have no major means of income and no job yet.

Pls help me in this situation, do I stand any chance with that wedding invitation or should I just relax and wait for my uncle to acquire his citizenship first and which one of the two means do I stand a good chance?
Again, the plan is that I will stay back in United States and my visiting visa status changed.

I am really confused and it's affecting me day by day because I don't want to make any mistake.

Broderly, Morning sir. How's the LENT going? trust you are good You see there is really no need talking outside here thats cos if all the GURUS here were private chatting someone like me wit NO TRAVEL HISTORY and SINGLE wouldn't have gotten the VISA. I am sorry i said you sounded jobless but you were derailing the THREAD. Please accept my apology.
Lets talk here and share ideas together so as to have others learn too. I tell you what, i was a silent reader here for a long time and it helped me a lot, i mean a whole lot, I only created a profile here last month cos my passport was with the Embassy going through ADMIN PROCESS for a while and i was worried and just days after i talked about it, i got it.
We disagree in a couple of subjects cos you say things that are totally not correct and when one points it out you become COCKY or RUDE dont know which. Anyways make we talk here ok, so others go learn. thanks

Read the thread, you don't even need to go far, start from 480 and you will find what you seek. Let us try and cultivate a reading culture instead of expecting information to be handed to us on a platter

You don't get it,...

I have agreed with what you said , i Just want to know you personally, Most of the time we don't know the people we commune with behind a programming, you may help me out in the nearest future and i will appreciate that's why i deemed it fit to ask for your private chat.

The way you use words, i sight some kind of confidence in you, some boldness that is very rare.
I love people with courage and i must confess am in love with you already.

Away from here, i did love to know you, am done contributing, i cannot help anyone here as i am derailing, all i desire is to meet you bro and i am crazy about it.

Travel History and Not married is only a clause not a barrier, i thought, because everyone i know who got their Visas on this note aren't on Naiaraland, maybe they could have been of help to my argument right now, ....

I still love you.

Since joining this thread for almost a decade with different Usernames, i can finally share a transcript today.
I had my interview this morning at US consulate in Lagos for 6:45am appointment.
After the normal check-ins and all, i was the first person to be interviewed by the guy in cubicle 3.
First thing i noticed on his table was a heap of blue sheet - no single white paper at sight, my confidence flew away and i was saying to myself "shey this guy no plan to give anybody visa today?"
Trancript below

Vo - Pass me your passport (the guy appear like person wey no won work, e no even greet me)
Me - I passed it to him
Vo - Why are you going to the US?
Me - To attend an international conference on digital health
Vo - What is digital health?
Me - I told him(upon all my preparation i no prepare for this question, so i stuttered at the start but later gathered momentum)
Vo- What do you plan to gain from this conference?
Me - I told him (but i spoke more on my poster...mentioned the importance to me as an Epidemiologist )
Vo - But i thought you are a Veterinarian (he saw that on my Ds160 i suppose)
Me - Yes am a Veterinary Epidemiologist
Vo - How long have you been working?
Me- I answered
Vo - Are you married?
Me - Yes
Vo - You have kids?
Me- Yes, 2
Vo - Who is sponsoring this trip?
Me - Myself
Vo- Do you have your Account statement there?
Me - sighed, i do not have it with me here (i no carry my statement cuz of some things i read here that it is so impt...infact, the only document i took along with me aside appointment and Ds160 confirmation was the Invitation Letter for the conference, Marriage and my Kid's birth certificate)

Na so he put hand for up on the shelf, and brought a white paper, wrote my name on it, circled an address and wrote Bank statement on the 5 o'clock corner of the paper.
He handed out the paper to me and told me to send my Bank statement to the circled address, and my passport.

To my questions:
1. For people that have had experiences close to mine...i stay outside lagos, can i courier the statement of account and passport to the GSS Document collection Center address circled...or i must take it there myself physically?

2. Do i need to attach any cover-letter while dispatching the docs.

3. How do i know when my Visa has been approved and affixed to my passport?

Hello house justwise seyewest and all the gurus in the house please my husband has his interview scheduled for 11th of April, we want to take our children for this coming Xmas vacation.

We all have visa except for hubby.

The issue now is that he applied alone last year to spend his leave and was denied, on his new Ds form we filled now has a mistake,

The part were he was ask if he has any experience in using firearm was not ticked, it was an oversight . His job entails using firearm becos he is with the force

My question is what do we do as we ticked yes in the previous form when he was denied. And we forgot to tick yes on this new form

Kindly help
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by vibrant99(m): 3:30pm On Mar 08, 2019
Nobody is a Guru anything , everybody is using another person's experience.

Retrieve ur hubby's form, then fill another DS-160 form.

Then you will see wht you filled earlier, correct it and print it out, though the confirmation Code will be different, then update your application for Interview , update the DS-160 confirmation number.

N.B even me no be GURU, all na lie.

He can either fill a new form with the correct details and update his profile with the new form's number or just go for the interview like that but call the VO's attention to the mistake as the interview begins and have him help correct same (no big deal doing this actually).

This may sound like splitting hairs, but lets make an important distinction. Converting a B1/B2 visa to something else like a permanent residency while in the US is not illegal in itself. What is frowned upon is immigration intent at the time of obtaining the B1/B2. You should not obtain a visiting visa when your intent is to immigrate or with the express intent to convert to a permanant residency when you get to the U.S. If you tell the VO, as you rightly should, that you plan to stay and convert when you arrive in the U.S., you will most likely be denied and advised to apply for the appropriate visa category (whatever that is, and good luck with that).

However, if you obtain a visiting visa with the original intent of visiting and returning at the appropriate time, but circumstances change while you are visiting... for example, by chance, you meet and fall in love with the "love of your life" and get legally married.... in this case, you are perfectly within the law to change your visa through the AOS process. It all depends on original intent which almost always resides in the applicants head and leads to subjective means to determine. Kudos to the OP for coming clean with his intent and making the VO's job easy. He is either an honest gentleman, or extremely naive grin

Yes, this is one of the weak US immigration loop-holes that most non-immigrant visa holders migrating to the US uses to legalize their stay permanently in the US.

I am sure that the US visa officers all know this weak loop-holes and that might be one of the reasons why getting the non-immigrant visas approved is very, very hard to convince the visa officers.
