Babachir Lawal: It’s Not Compulsory North Must Cede Power To South In 2023 by chimjoshjuan: 6:12am On Apr 06, 2019 |
Babachir Lawal, Nigeria's ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has stated that it is not compulsory the north must cede power to south In 2023. The ex-SGF who also claimed that the Governor of Adamawa State, Jibrilla Bindow, betrayed President Muhammadu Buhari, added that it led to the poor performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state during the presidential and governorship elections. Babachir Lawal who told Aid-Oghie Paulinus that it is not compulsory the north must cede power to south in 2023, added that every part of the country was qualified to produce a president for the country. On insinuations that the North may not cede power to the South in 2023, he said; I don’t attend any meeting in which a so called north takes decisions. If there is such an organization that takes those decisions, they don’t invite me. For obvious reasons, I am a democrat and I believe every part of Nigeria has qualified candidates for the presidential. Every part of Nigeria! Indeed, I don’t see why the… even if it is in the north, if we say the Northwest has produced a presidential candidate, the Southwest had produced one, I don’t see why the North Central can- not produce or the Northeast cannot produce just as South-South, Southeast, Southwest and even Northwest can still produce. The constitution doesn’t say it is prohibited. And as I said, I believe every zone, every state, has capable people that can run this country effectively. On if deputies should always succeed their principals like Osinbajo succeeding Buhari in 2023, he said; It is not in the constitution, so it is not a principle. Principle of what? It is not in APC constitution, it is not in the national constitution, it is not in the Bible, I don’t know whether it is in the Koran; I don’t know. So, I don’t see how it became a principle. https://unclesuru.com/2019/04/06/its-not-compulsory-north-must-cede-power-to-south-in-2023-babachir-lawal/ 10 Likes

Obainoneandonly: Gentleman agreement can only come in when u have one major party acting like a one party state but right now with 2 major parties both will be looking at how to be at the driving seat and sadly the north have the numbers... So it changes the dynamics 88 Likes 6 Shares |

Obainoneandonly: that is likely not going to happen because to PDP a Southerner has ruled for 6years so its naturally going back northward and secondly PDP is desperately in need to take power so will field a northerner where they can get more vote. 66 Likes 3 Shares |

If they retain power in the North in 2023, I'm sure the next census will reflect a South with almost the population of the North because we will count our goats and chickens too, the way they count cows and rago in the North. Then elections will become serious rigging war since we also have the population to match the North. Eight-yr-oolds will also be eligible to vote here and we'll import Togolese and the rest, the way they rent the Chadians up North...no region has monopoly of leadership by manipulation! 36 Likes 2 Shares |

The only issue why the north can say this is because the south west are interested in running ,so they know the south is divided .... So tinubu don't have any igbo person or south south person he can trust ? Sad Obj ,ibb , atiku and the rest have someone they can trusts in each local government ....thats what made them great 93 Likes 11 Shares |

genesishouse: You know the Igbo man succeeds in business through foresight. We saw this on the run on to 2015 elections but Tinubu and southwesterners called us wailers. Buhari that would have remained a serial contestant until age catches up with him, was handed the presidency on a platter to perpetrate his ethnic and religious agenda. Believe when I tell you that Tinubu will regret working for Buhari. Kwankwaso Atiku Saraki Amaechi Have tested their own pill. Karma can be sexy 127 Likes 12 Shares |

If they want to tear pdp apart they should chose their presidential candidate from north. Both south east and south south should support apc since the party agreed to chose their presidential candidate from southwest . 5 Likes 1 Share |

If not for Tinubu's greed the South would have the North how to Play Politics. BTW How can we be talking about 2023 when the next tenure have not started, all we know about in this country is politics, politics no iota of innovation or ideas to better the lives of people in their empty skull. tsmat:then its up to the southerners there to demand dat d slot should be given to a person from the south ,because if PDP should field a Northerner,APC too would be tempted to do d same.......if they don't they might loose, that's d obvious truth which they can't gamble with 4 Likes 1 Share |

mrvitalis:Unfortunately, the North will likely not vote for South East due to their Biafra agenda. For now, they can't afford to let go of oil as the South South may go with Biafra. But if the South brings out a South West candidate (who is likely to be a Muslim), the gentleman agreement may stand. 1 Like 1 Share |
