if engine smokes when you rev engine to 4000-7000 rpm and you see smoke , your rings are toast.

I drive a 2005 KIA SORENTO suv which i bought from a friend. I noticed that wen i want to start de car most times, it does as if de battery is low and de lights on de dashboard will be so faint but it eventually starts. Although it doesn't occur everytime. I thought it was de battery so i changed de battery to de one on my other car but it still occurs. i called a battery technician who checked and said dat de battery is OK and de alternator is charging well also. What do u think might be de issue.

Or if i get a gud engineer like u, will i stil enjoy d engine wen ringed?
2. Im planning 2 buy a car for transportation next week, should i allow d thermostat removed cos d engineer we went to inspect it said car for transportation doesnt need a thermostat, to avoid overheating. Thank u 4 ur time. It wld hv been better, if i can hv ur contact. Instead of me bombarding u wt questions here, i wld just put a call tru &discuss it once.

goodday sir. I have Opel astra (zabira), ecotech engine, 1.8. the car started this funny sign of when gets hot, a light in the dashboard (car sign with spinner across) starts blinking. the battery had to be remove for minutes say 15-20 minutes before the car could start. mechanics, electricians and computer programmers have diagnosed but to no avail. this is really embarrassing, pls sir what is the actual issue.

If you bought the car as tokunbo and your kazeem Removed the thermostat then m no wahala but if you bought it naija used, with thermostat removed and fans running direct.. Their COULD be a WHY

nw i undestand ur point. I also believe dere cld be issue. Though, i bought it frm someone bt in d paper, it ws less than 6 month d car was cleared. D neatness &cleaness confirmed dat. If dere ws a problem initially, i think i should hav knwn by now. I travelled to ladipo yesterday &2 maryland 2day, all journey from abeokuta &dere ws no issue at all. Or wht do u tink. Thanks.

You fan is still connected directly.. So issue might not show yet..
I also bought a naija used car, reinstalled the thermostat & reverted cooling fans back to factory setting without any issues.. So you might be lucky like me

iv reverted d cooling fan 2dy &everytin was fine. I was in lagos traffic 2dy and no issue at all. Though a little bit scared &my eyez are always on d temperature guage bt it never 4 once leave d middle.

Please if its a must you get a space bus I will advise you look for Toyota Sienna... Nissan is complicated especially Nigerian Used that you don't know much about the Maintenance history... It is not a rugged vehicle, put to consideration the availability of parts and Technician

My 02 Avalon with 1mz vvti engine had oil pump issue . affected the crankshaft so i changed the crankshaft metals and main bearing plus the oil pump .the engine was put back . the problem now is the engine runs for lets say 30 secs and drops . if u on it again it will run so same period and drop am thinking is it mechanical or electrical maybe if the mechanic didn't plug something well because there's no security in the car . Help

Engine of not more than 150k is what you're stressing yourself over?
If your engine is damaged and your technician can't rebuild it why not junk that old engine and get another?

If I were you I will buy the Golf 4 and have peace of mind. Ford can give you heart attack with part and all these Kazeems we have as Mechanics
