These are the words of Paul the apostle. Was he speaking to or referring to unbelievers? No. He was speaking to the elders of the Ephesian church (See verse 17). So this was Paul talking about visiting and teaching his fellow Christians in their houses. And that, people, is the sum total of scriptural authority relied upon for going house to house with unbelievers by Human Hair and her JW brethren.

Oh, there are other scriptures? Ok, let’s see.

Acts 5:42. Here, Luke the physician reports that the disciples went house to house. This could easily have amounted to visiting their brethren at their homes like St Paul did. I mean, we can easily explain this verse by Acts 20. This verse is not sufficient for us to conclude that the disciples did preach house to house because other instances demonstrate that they were in the habit of speaking to gatherings.

Say again. I’m twisting scripture? Ok. Let’s say Acts 5:42 does support your position and some disciples actually preached house to house. What about “Jesus himself”?

Matthew 10:11-14. First read the whole chapter and not merely lift those that suit your agenda.

The contents of Matthew 10 are also found in Luke 10. In this chapter, Jesus sends out the 70 disciples to… drive out evil spirits and heal the sick. Yes, that’s verse one of Matt 10 – nothing about proselytising. In verse 7 he asks them to declare the good news but adds that they heal the sick and chase out demons. This was the commission.

House visit is mentioned in verse 11 but this is not house to house. He says when you find a welcoming person, stay here. The way this happened in the old days was you camp at someone’s house and other villagers came to listen to you there. This was Jesus’ model of preaching - he would visit a house or a place camp there: Mary and Martha’s house; Zaccheus’ house; Olive, etc. All the records we have of him in the Bible are of crowds listening to him; there is no single record of him going house to house. But maybe you have one – afterall you know Bible. The Jesus model is what the churches try to re-enact today when they hold a crusade and crowds come to listen – just like the sermon on the mount. And this has proved far more effective for “soul-winning” than the unbiblical house to house to method. (I can prove that.)

But Jesus was not silent about house to house preaching – so nobody can really claim ignorance. He spoke about house to house. Clearly. Matthew omits it from his record of 70-disciple mission but Luke does not. So in Luke 10:5-7, we read: 5 “When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ 6 If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. 7 Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. (NIV)
New World Translation (7): “So stay in that house, eating and drinking the things they provide, for the worker is worthy of his wages. Do not keep transferring from house to house.”

Here is “Jesus himself” expressly forbidding house to house preaching to unbelievers in the same mission you referenced by quoting Matt 10.

You see how easy it is to con you when you let someone else read and emphasise the verses he likes to you while you don’t question his interpretation?

2. You did not answer what you’d do if there’s a conflict. I know what you’d do – you won’t pray for understanding. You’d do “research” – not from encyclopedia or other religious books (which you’re forbidden from reading), but from your church’s books. (Yes, you have the “truth” but you’re not allowed to interrogate it by reading outside your religion. Sounds like being “the most open-minded”, doesn’t it?) That is, when in doubt of your church’s teachings or facing a conflict, you would go read more of the same materials that poisoned your mind in the first place, not to find any objective truth but to reaffirm that you’ve been thought (“the truth”) is the truth. Brilliant, isn’t it?

3. You have no idea. Actually, you people have claimed to be prophets. Yes, you “do claim so”.

The Watchtower. April 1, 1972. pp. 197–200. - states that God had raised Jehovah's Witnesses as a prophet "to warn (people) of dangers and declare things to come".

The Watchtower. May 1, 1997. p. 8.- identifies the Witnesses as God’s "true messengers ... by making the messages he delivers through them come true", in contrast to "false messengers", whose predictions fail.

Commissioned to Speak in the Divine Name. Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. 1971. pp. 70, 292.which describes Witnesses as the modern Ezekiel class, "a genuine prophet within our generation".

So are you prophets or not? You look confused.

You ask if there’s anything you teach that is not in the Bible? Plenty. Do you have the whole day? Anyway, I already showed you some – like house to house. But as soon as you read all this, you’d go do “research”. You won’t think critically. Or read Matthew Henry’s Commentary on the New Testament. Or go find an encyclopedia. Or pray for the Holy Spirit. Or read materials written by renowned by Bible scholars. You’d just “do research”. Your puppet masters are so good at it that they’ve managed to convince you that not allowing you to read some classes of books (e.g. those written by pastors or folks from any religion) is good for you. Because you don’t understand how mind control works, you’re happy.

That’s why someone would throw away his military career to chase a Brooklyn bridge thinking it’s a bridge to God. As if he’d fold his hands and do “harmless dove” if his wife and kids are attacked by club-wielding robbers. Or Boko Haram. Well, maybe he would - "God's arrangement" says so. But what do I know? In my original contribution, I pointed out that this organisation can criticize even Paul and Peter and even Jesus for self defense and telling people they are the only group serving God correctly. This myopic view has done humanity much evil than good. Hitler was talking about superior race; Muhammad, superior faith; JW, superior practice. So, Jesus was wrong for preaching by seaside or other convenient places? Philip in Samaria held a crusade and that is wrong by JW standard. What is important in preaching or teaching than correct soul winning not evil indoctrination of JW.

144,000 is mentioned twice in the book of Revelation and it's the topic of this thread, please why can't the OP enlighten his followers on the significance of the figure?
Jehovah's Witnesses have presented their own understanding of the scriptures, correlating it with other texts in the scriptures, it's meaningless directing everyone to the presentation of another group when you're asserting that such presentation is wrong yet you're not making any effort to help your audience know the correct interpretation of that text! cheesy

Jesus actually condemned false teachings but he won't do so WITHOUT presenting the correct interpretation of the scriptures for the benefit of all! This is not about just arguing for nothing sake, it's about helping your audience to KNOW THE TRUTH! wink

The figure 144,000 appeared twice in the same book of Revelation. Their pastors will continue to hammer on 'Lake of fire' to scare them so that they can donate all their life savings to those greedy predators.
But 144,000 that has appeared in the same book is what JWs has solved the riddle behind it, now they're all wagging their tongues simply because their so called Daddy and Mummy GOs, Daddy SP haven't taught them anything relating to the mentioned figure! cheesy
