All these problems that hamper patronage of eastern ports by vessels are mainly created by the FG just to under develop the eastern part of the country. The north and the south west work hand in hand cos, the north are afraid that if the south east develop they may secede, the south west fell that is eastern ports are working, it would patronage of south west ports as majority of the people that do business through the ports are from the East. It's just pure conspiracy Check out my signature for quality and durable furniture for your homes and offices 8 Likes 1 Share |

meccuno:oga stop this isn't about Igbos because no Igbo land have ports, that's the facts. Even though I don't support APC and buhari but the fact that good luck ebele was from Niger delta and has all the power to do all these things but he didn't, even the ogoni cleanup he didn't even touch there, now a Fulani man from kastina is already cleaning up ogoni land, he has opened port Harcourt airport, the substandard airport an Igbo lady did during Jonathan period, he's already fixing it, warri port is now officially opened and 200 ships is now there. I know you people are full of hate but use sense, we pray another Niger delta man with a core value for the Niger deltans becomes president so that we'll see good infrastructure in the region. 12 Likes 1 Share |

meccuno:Kip kwayet abeg, which Igbo group do we have along the coast to start with? Do we now have Igbo militants now at sea that you have to accuse me of hating Igbos? Are you saying that the Nigerian Navy does not patrol the coastal areas so as to cut down on the excesses of the Ijaw militants that had made the Gulf of Guinea one of the most dangerous places in the world? You blame the FG for not doing enough but whenever the militants starts their madness of destroying oil pipelines and kidnapping of expatriates, you support them 3 Likes |

Edenx: You obviously did not read the content for the facts therein. You think ship owners, naval captains and engineers , insurance companies and other stakeholders care about your feelings when they decide not to risk several million dollars in vessel and cargo and refuse to dock in the east. It's a decision based on reality, ships are still being boarded and individuals taken hostage around that part of the country, the access roads are not adequate, the volume is not enough for the economy of scale and the channels are not deep enough. Which of these did it u fail to comprehend 2 Likes |

meccuno:in my ethnic group, we are told to say the truth as it is, we don't bend things to fit into our conspiracies and we are also taught to good kudos when it's due. Good luck Jonathan is a failure to Niger deltans and most our leaders in Niger deltans are failures, a Fulani man in buhari has done more things good to us than our own son. 3 Likes |

RZArecta2: You do know neither of the two new ports in Lagos are federal government initiatives. Both are PPP between Lagos and other stakeholders. Keep waiting for government in Abuja. When potential investors are seated around a table and are deciding where their next investment is going it's important they know it's safe. In the Southern shore where these ships sail through the waterways are not safe because of piracy and ship hijacking. Your emotions are not worth their billions at stake. It is a business decision 5 Likes 1 Share |

Area4Area:I wrote full because Nairaland replaces words like that to something different. For example if you use the word "mess" it changes it to bleep. So do not assume your striking out the word has much to do with your intelligence cus if it did you would know that these words are changed. Like I said whatever we say has nothing to do with the actions of the government.they are there to secure lives and properties irrespective of whether we support the criminals or not. Stop playing with semantics and be objective for once in your life. |

Area4Area: The importers do not own ships. Most shipping companies have just not patronised those ports for safety and logistical reasons. The insurance and other cost of sending a ship is just not worth the risk. There is no incentive to send a ship that way 3 Likes 1 Share |

gaetano: Do you know how many oil vessels have been attacked there. Even the refined oil lands in Lagos. Oyinbo people are not daft and are not given to sentiments. The people have to make a greater effort towards making the region safe. The navy have really tried their best but it seems most young men of the SS prefer to involve in oil bunkering , piracy and militancy 3 Likes 1 Share |

FG will always come with useless excuses when it get to do with Eastern ports but when it is about crude oil and LNG exports the vessels will navigate through those river channels for loading. Why can't they provide security and dredge at least one river channel or better build port in place like Bonny Island. |

Binikingdowm:at the bold words my reply is "LOL". How is GEJ your brother? What is the relationship between an Ijaw man with a Benin man? Stop decieving your selves there is no one tribe called Niger Delta. There are so many ethnic groups in the so called South south. The only common thing you have is oil. Nothing else. Ijaw relationship with their neighbors is replicated in the crises in warri. That's how much Love you have. In Edo state we know how you love them so much in that gelegede land dispute. Abeg you are a Bini Man and he is ijaw. You are not brothers. Your brothers are in the SW 2 Likes |
