They have capped their discount to N1k max on a trip with 50% discount so expect a little decline in requests.

Any time u have issue with rider not paying for his trip, don't fight or disturb them at all if u are on uber, just go to help button for the particular trip and report the case to uber. U will definitely get your money added to your next payment. It has happened to me before for a long trip with stops up to # 7.5k, uber added the money to my next payment. Uber will added the money to any trip the person requested next time.

It's only for serious people that has a payment plan or backup, they are giving it out on higher purchase at a very reduced price compare to other people, no one gives us a 1.9M car on higher purchase for 2.5M, the earlier you pay up the better for the driver.

What does that even mean

You think 40k is easy to deliver in today's Uber

Incase you're still asleep in 2016, we're few days away to 2020 bro.. No sane man born of a woman that knows this business well would accept such offer.

Incase you don't know there's a thread on Auto section with title "1.2m cars" by Amdman.. I'd rather beg my village people for sum funds and purchase a direct tokunbo from Canada, dan drive To nd Fro Third Mainland Bridge by 3am all in the name of remiting 40k to a HP company that allegedly wants to give people "Financial Freedom"

That’s not slavery, automatically doesn’t mean it’s compulsory, it’s only for those that want to expand, some Uber drivers have 4 cars if you don’t know, you might see it as slavery while some will see it as expansion

Please, i need advice.
1) I have an 08 corolla. I am considering using it for e-hailing
or
2) Sell the corolla, add some money buy sienna and use it for transportation (inter-state)

NB: A man with young family.

Interstate will give you more value for your time plus the vehicle will have a nice run for its money because it will always be on the highway.

More value for your ‘synthetic’ oil changes

General suspension repairs will be minimal

Highway driving uses less fuel and is easier on the engine

The stress of agbero and lastma seizing your vehicle will be absent, just ensure you have valid documentation

Go to the bus parks and see how much you can make per trip for your preferred route, check the duration of the journey and fuel budget too (ask other drivers) do you can project your daily trips and profit

Ps. This Christmas season many people have already picked up siennas and will pay off half it’s cost price before February (FACT)

Trip from Abuja to owerri today is N17k ... and that’s for Hummer Bus ooh .... clean sienna bus ticket costs higher than that

17k multiplied by 7 comfortable ‘ac’ chilled seats is N119,000 (and it’s for a journey a professional driver can make twice in 48hrs)

Do your maths

You are a man with a family. You already own the Toyota Corolla.

Do the e-hailing. On a typical day, you can put in 8 hours since it is your car and go home to your family.

If you work 8 hours daily from Monday to Saturday, you can net #40,000 for yourself for the week and still have time for other things including family.

Corolla always? Can't they allow people to choose their brand of car and they add their profit on top?

I'm not a fan of 03-08 corolla and I'm sure few others prefer other types of car too for the hustle.

What killed the offer was the down payment?

250k is a lot of money. On a normal day n strictly on ehailing, it wud take you over 2 months to save that. Assuming the car is yours.

And y r u doing a hire purchase @ 2.6m. D offer shd b queried cos you r acting like the typical Nigerian bizman who wants to make over 50% return on a vehicle.

In BTW: are you sure dy r tokunbo vehicles, like straight from the port n not refurbished?

Your conditions r quite stringent I must confess

Do your maths well, higher purchase of 2.5M for a tokunbo car valued at 1.9M is 30% profit, and that’s in 18 months, the minimum interest bank will give you on loan is 15% for 1 year and that implies 22.5% in 18 months, it’s not refurbished, there are custom document for verification
