In my 14 years of supporting Chelsea, I have experienced a rollercoaster of emotions brought upon by the managerial instability and fan's impatience.

There is a cyclical process that constantly occurs which I have been fed up with since.

We hire a new manager, the fans get onboard with him, the new manager signs new players, the manager starts very well and succeeds tremendously (except avb and Avram). The manager hits a rough patch, the fans IMMEDIATELY turn on him, the club sacks him, another manager is signed, stuck with players he doesn't want and signs new players after which another cycle kicks in.

It's a process which is highly frustrating to me, worse so, is seeing how easy it is for fans to change their mind on players and coaches without giving them adequate time after formerly gushing in admiration and praises of the said manager or player.

I know how angry i was when ancelloti was sacked, a champions league winner who we had hired who had won us the double with a powerful group of attackers like anelka, Lampard, deco, Drogba etc. Just because we had lost the title charge by a few points as runners-up.

But our recent managerial turmoil irks me the most.
Just a year after mourinho had taken us to just within one game of the champions league final, and actually winning the league, we sacked him because of problems with Michael and some players.
Needless to point out that we haven't smelt even the quarters since then.

We hired conte, a passionate coach who showed great tactical acumen to win us the league in record fashion, at season end, everybody here was in love with conte only for things to change the minute we hit a rough patch, many fans turned on this coach despite the bad attitude of Diego and the lack of signings.

Now sarri, we hired sarri, despite knowing that he hadn't won anything in his career, the club had long since stated it's desire to start playing a unique brand of attacking football and believed that sarri was the right man for that, they promised him ample time to carry out his vision, the fans embraced the idea of sarriball despite knowing the man hadn't won anything yet, we were ready to give him time knowing that just one season will hardly be enough to fully adapt and implement his philosophy.
We could see flashes of the brilliance of his vision throughout the season but as usual, the minute we hit a rough patch after the usual honeymoon period, the same fans who happily embraced the project grew impatient and frustrated to see it through.
We sacked sarri and now we have decided to hire our legend despite his absolute inexperience, we did this with the promise of giving him sufficient time to grow and groom our young players. The club has promised managerial stability now, Fans have also embraced this move.

This is why I was constantly advocating for caution when Lampard was winning earlier on in the season because I know how easy it would be for our fans to turn on him when we hit a very rough patch.
I am all in, into the frank project and youth revolution and my hope is that we wouldn't be plunged into another managerial cycle for at least 3 years. We have to give Lampard time like kloop, pochetino and guardiola have had at their clubs, no matter what.

Please don't quote me on this sarri issue again, I wouldn't respond. I believe I have completely detailed my perspective on this.

It was not a direct insult to you. I would be a fool if I hold onto hope in Jorginho after examining his weaknesses over 2 years and deciding it cannot be redeemed. Even up till December 2019, I was still holding hope in him working at Chelsea but the December to February run was just the last straw to make up my mind that he will always pose a structural weakness to Chelsea. I had hoped the weakness he showed under Sarri from Dec18 to Feb19 could be mitigated, but the same weakness keep repeating itself.

You have been watching football for about 3 decades and you know what to look for in a footballer, You claim to also play in a semi pro league so there are certain things you saw that made you proclaim them as excellent players/managers at some point

I know myself, I can never like some things I can never like shakushaku attackers, I can never like players who disappear in big occasions

This is a fallacy. You can never be so dogmatic. Only a stubborn or arrogant person would stick to an opinion of a player just because they consider themselves infallible. Just like Pep rated Alexander Hleb, Chygrinsky and Benjamin Mendy then changed his mind. Just like you rated Bellotti in your top 10 strikers that year and now hate him.

There is a reason why scouts spend hundreds of hours watching targets which is to flush out weaknesses. These players you mention (Fabregas, Jorginho etc) are technical players, I make no apologies for having hope in them. Watching them for 90 mins weekly over an extended period is what makes one an expert on their game, and allows one to flush out their weaknesses thoroughly. Midfield play is a multi-variable part of the team and there is no such thing as "I know what I like" when it comes to central midfield. You may prefer robust midfielders but you may be willing accommodate a specialist like Pirlo or Xavi or Jorginho for what they can bring. And then you judge and weigh those players over time and can decide if the negatives outweigh the positives and vice-versa. Sometimes their positives may work in another club, but just not in your club as the sacrifice you have to make in other areas of the team may be too great and too expensive and at odds with the qualities of other players in your team who bring more to the table.

The only midfielders I write off immediately are midfielders with dangerous technique that put teams in trouble like Bakayoko and Ramires. Nothing will make me write off a Fabregas or Jorginho immediately until several efforts have been made to accommodate their talents and we decide the bad outweighs the good.
