Time will tell. Etebo is still a key member of our Super Eagles but his starting place can no longer be guaranteed. He faces a serious fight on his hands. Danielnino00: 1 Like |

The bid will fail. Gattuso has already stated he is keeping Lozano and is ready to give the lad a chance to prove himself this season. Alongside Osimhen, Lozano has been one of Napoli's top performers in Preseason and Gattuso sees possibilites with the lad alongside Osimhen, Mertens, and Insigne. Danielnino00: 2 Likes 2 Shares |

TheSuperNerd: You are quite right about that.. But Etebo always find his way into the starting eleven one way or another.. Remeber before the world cup,he was one of the players tipped to be dropped from the final list..I think that uncertainty played a part in his move to Stoke city...last last,he ended the tournament as one of our best players... On a personal note,I will pick Aribo ahead of him in CM..Etebo should really consider moving back to a more offensive role he was known for before he moved to Europe... |

edi287:May we talk true joor. He isnt. Simple. If he is, his teammates would always push him to stand over it in dire circumstances. Seniority or not. The aim now is to have an SE player than Will score 6-8freekicks in a club season from 30yards at most. We can start with that. I personally want this very aspect to become a hot addition to our attack. |

daveP: Score 6-8 freekick in one seaaon? Haha! That's too much na BTW,I can't think of any current SE player that take free kicks regularly at their club.. Simon used to do it at Genk though.. 1 Like |

Danielnino00: Stuff is even Ramon Azeez will bench him as he is a more natural midfielder but he is still useful for the team. The thing is he came into the team when we had little options in midfield. But then ovie ejaria and kelechi nwakali is there and in a few years or maybe now there is Alhassan Yusuf |

Edopesin:I hear. If Aubameyang defendd then who kon be Pulisic? Abi na Salah wey be the only difference? Okay na. But im saying its the norm now. Whether asked by coach or not. So if he doesn't, no p. But for an attacker that does and still influences attack, that's commendable na. |

Danielnino00:i bin wan even write 13 sef. But 6 in 38games+cup games, etc is still fair. + or - I think the first hurdle is personal development on that aspect in such a way that club teammates notice it and it becomes an identity. Then we can move forward. Salah, Mane, Aubameyang, Mahrez, to mention a few. |

Not as one of our best players. He was our best player in Russia. Even ahead of Musa. That's the truth. At Afcon 2019, he was definitely among our top 3 finest too. But right now, there is a revolution going on in the team, new Midfielders with some specific skillsets that gives us upgrades in their roles are emerging and Etebo may find himself on the bench more times going forward than in the first XI. Anyway, time will tell. As for him moving into an offensive role, let us see where Fatih Terim at Gala plan to play him coz I suspect it would be in midfield. Perhaps he could feature him as an LM. Time will tell. Danielnino00: 1 Like |

elunico:It is the sentence construction that nailed Mr. Forgetfulness. Based on what he typed it seems he intended to say VicMo won Europa, epl and singlehandedly won afcon. However, he misplaced the modifiers etc. And in fact how can one person single-handedly win a competition when it's not ping pong or tennis, I tire o. |

Well, yea, Carlo dey vex this transfer window. Three good signings so far. If they indeed want to bring in a winger, then they would have to look elsewhere coz Lozano is already looking primed to feature prominently in Gattuso's new look Napoli. But again, I really hope they don't follow up this winger talk b'cos that would affect Iwobi. They have Iwobi, Bernard and Walcott. We all know James is sure to start. Richarlison too is a sure starter. Lewin as well when they play a two man attack or when they play Richarlison from the sides. Abeg... I hope they don't bring in a winger. Danielnino00: 1 Like |

hmm really tough question. leaning towards Lewan but the Uruguayan vampire tends to deliver in clutch moments. Overall I will go with Lewandowski cos he's an unrelenting goal scoring machine but his invisible man acts a times especially for Poland concern me. Subzero047: |

hmm for me yes you can say he was one of our best players in Russia and Egypt but off the top of your head which moments can you point to during those tournaments will you really say he wowed you? i think etebo's attacking instincts need to be reignited. don't know why rohr hasn't tried him more often in an advanced role in the final third of the pitch TheSuperNerd: |

TheSuperNerd: If anything Aribo will play as his number and Iwobi will drop. No other midfielder has performed as well when things matter for Rohr. If Etebo starts week in week out for Gala I can guarantee that he will be on the pitch for us and we will be begging that he rests by 90 minutes as always. |

chrisooblog: Think Rohr already did that before.... early in his coaching stinct with the super eagles Remember the match against south Africa(the one we lost in Uyo) and Match against Cameroon and few others The truth is...Etebo is not creative enough for an AM role...I will prefer iwobi for the 10 role to him...and now we have got Aribo, Ejaria and some other guys coming on board...it gonna be really tedious for him |

Against Croatia, whenever he got the ball, we were sure not to lose it. Etebo had 10 successful dribbles in that game alone. I recall one of them where he skillfully and with some power got away from his markers. Against Iceland, he did a Yeoman's job. Against South Africa at the Afcon, that free kick he smashed against the post from over 25 yards or so. Mehn... The SA keeper wan die that day. If that had gone in, no one would be asking what WOW moments he had for us. Also, do you forget his showing against Algeria? Etebo was the reason we even won a penalty in the first place. He kept trying his hits from distance and one of them resulted in a penalty. Etebo has been good for us overall but what he doesn't offer us is the ability to link the midfield and attack very well from a central midfield role. He always act alongside Ndidi as part of a double pivot. He is a good ball retainer and ball holder but not a good ball carrier which is something Aribo does effortlessly. Aribo also knows when and how to time his runs into the box from midfield to provide an extra threat for us in the final third. Etebo doesn't do that. But in all, Etebo has given his best for us but time is coming when he would not be guaranteed of a starting place anymore. And that time is fast approaching. I leave it all to time. Now @bolded... Simple answer. It is b'cos Rohr has more than enough weapons in the final third to use. Also, Rohr once played him as an AM and that experiment failed woefully. Nacho suffered that day if you recall. With all these said... He is still a key and experienced member of our darling Super Eagles. chrisooblog: 2 Likes 1 Share |

ChrisKels: Bro...I wanna watch him play and impress Rohr for a call up that's my desire Let's wait and watch him do it...for oshimen we saw all he did and that's reason for the hype on him lately everyone knows he deserves it but for nwakali what we Nigerians still have of him are his under 17 exploits...you'll agree with me that's long ago... |
