Most people would laugh at this your analysis! Though Warri does have a slight shot at being a better city than the way it currently is. But Lagos was once the capital of Nigeria. How many roads do we have in Lagos today? Secondly, most northerners are put in offices like the IGP, EFCC, DSS etc. Do you expect them to convict fellow northerners are corrupt? Obviously, the SS, SW and SE leaders will suffer in the hands of these organizations! Please remind me how many Northerners have been convicted in the hands of these organizations, does it mean there is no corruption going on there? 6 Likes |

It is so terrible the state warri has sunk into. Like the op, I am not an indigene, but was given birth to, and raised there. It is a shame. When I was younger, I used to visit me dad's office along enerhen road. During break hours, you will see a troop of men coming out of several companies around that axis for lunch. The whole place was vibrant and bubbling with life. Companies like Camco, Texaco, schlumberger, B+B etc. Today, that road is a ghost of itself. Its painful. I also blame the youth. Their incessant restiveness drove away all these companies. The government also failed too in provided needed security. The one wey dey pain me pass na that one wey dey call himself road master, yet all the road don scstter finish. People like Uduaghan and Okowa should be stoned. Lalasticlala 39 Likes 3 Shares |

RuudVanNisteroy: Really? ‘Nothing to show’ Don’t you think we’re too extreme in our criticisms? On this same forum I’ve read people say Fashola finished 8 years with nothing to show. Godswill Akpabio, 8 years and nothing to show. Now it’s Uduaghan, in a few years to come it’ll will be Okowa. It’s really not fair When Jonathan was president people said he was the worst president ever. Now Buhari is the worst president ever. We’re too harsh Rome wasn’t built in a day, it’s about having a long term master plan and sticking to it. The world is leaving us behind. Every new dispensation jettisons the plans of the old and wants standout, that’s why they start executing emergency short term projects that aren’t viable and can’t stand the test of time. States need to have development plans and stick to them. 5 Likes |

I feel sad when I see thread like this about my state. it's so embarrassing that places like warri, sapele, ughelli, asaba and some other top places in Delta can't even rival some cities in Nigeria the level of corruption in that state is mind blowing and no one cares about it. PDP government has destroyed that state same way they destroyed Nigeria for 16 years. I am not saying APC would have done better if they're in power though. The most annoying thing about people in Delta is defending that useless thief called James ibori. saying he still remains the best governor of the state despite the money he stole. had he been there was massive development in the state during his time as a governor his successors would have done better to surpass his achievements. Ibori killed Delta state and the people themselves. no one should come here and defend corruption because I noticed that is what most of the people here are good at. 21 Likes 1 Share |

Daum:Nuhu Ribadu said James Ibori looted 50% of the state allocation during his 8 year tenure. On the other hand Lucky Igbinedion i'm sure was likely looting 90% of the state allocation, couldn't even fix the road to his mansion in GRA Benin, . And Oshiomhole was almost as bad, he started borrowing money to loot in Edo. Edo state has an external debt is N276 Billion, and domestic debt of N100 billion with nothing major to show for the debt and imagine this is in addition to state allocation and IGR. Look at Godwin Obaseki he had nothing to show for his 4 years, and only got support because Edo state people do not support godfatherism like Lagosians. 5 Likes

AustineJohn908:Akwa Ibom has consistently had the second highest budget in the country for the last number of years. And the state can do so much better when it comes to infrastractural development. I know there was massive corruption in Akwa Ibom under Victor Attah and Akpabio. Niger Delta is just cursed with extremely corrupt leaders, Uyo should be one of the most developed cities in Africa. 1 Like

AustineJohn908:Equally fantastically corrupt government, that constructs good quality roads compared to Delta state. Akwa Ibom has the second largest budget in the country. You can't say it reflects in the states development. Uyo should be competing with Warri,Port Harcourt, and Yenogoa the other rich oil cities as the most beautiful and developed city in the country. Corruption has killed Niger Delta. Akwa Ibom has the worst unemployment rate in Niger Delta. 2 Likes 1 Share

horchukoh:Uduaghan and Okowa were Commissioners under James Ibori. He was the godfather that annointed them, and obviosly still has a major role in determining how the state is run, so should take part of the blame of the infrastructural decay of the state and corruption. 6 Likes |
