The punishment is just too harsh for the offence. If this is true then the Lagos govt shld be sanctioned. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Bottom line is no matter what always be law abiding... it’s sad reading their stories, as some of them said it’s their only source of income. I just hope sanity will be restored in Lagos and government will make life easier on her citizens someday... cause since the #Endsars campaign ended prices of commodities went high, but no given up. We will continue to be steadfast till light shines on us. |

This reminds me of a funny moment sometime ago. Someone's car was impounded by the cops for something I can't remember now and he was to pay about 3k fine or so. Dude simple dumped the car on them and bought another car for less than the 3k. I feel for these guys though but lawlessness comes with a price. 1 Like |

DenreleDave:It is done all over the world. A judge can rule that you pay a fine for traffic, suspend your driving privileges, send you to jail, do community work or in some cases seize your car. Once your car is forfeited, the next thing is auction. Its best to avoid one way etc. 1 Like |

EgunMogaji2: I am happy somebody mentioned Elebu. The solution to that is simple. No need auctioning the cars. Just impound and impose a N50,000 fine in addition to a medical certificate of mental fitness obtained from a state hospital for N30,000. Do that to 20 people living in Elebu and the message will spread faster than the gospel. Oyo govt is losing massive revenue there. 10 Likes 1 Share |

blueheart:Probably Lagos feels fines have not been effective enough as a deterrent. So they had to go to the extreme to shock the system. |

OmoManU: Do you live in Lagos? Most roads in Lagos are under construction. This is the major reason people take one way right now. Wickedly, the law enforcement agents will be the one to direct you to follow the one way only to snap your car and block you in front. Lagos is wicked and cursed 10 Likes 1 Share |

This is absolute injustice. What happens to the options of :- huge fines Or impounding d cars for a period of time or suspension of D/L? Who gets d revenue? Lag govt? Or owner? 1 Like 1 Share |

bendike: They just need money to recoup what was lost in the end Sars protest. The road construction going on in Lagos is the major reason people take one way. The thought of people is that these guys will understand the situation of things, only to be met with a shocker when their vehicles are impounded. Sometimes, you may not even know that the road is one way. Some offenses should be considered properly before meting out punishment. This is pure evil and wickedness 8 Likes 1 Share |

ppogba: This is a much better option to outright sale of seized cars within two weeks. Sanwo-Olu needs to get a psychiatric evaluation and treatment. Meanwhile N25,000 fine with N15,000 mental health assessment certificate that takes a long time to get should be enough deterrent for lawlessness. Government is not simply about massive revenue. It is about a sane environment for everyone to flourish to their own potential. 1 Like |
