Oldies.. mig 25 you can appreciate the size of the beast  in the second pic you can see a mig 25 RB version for reconnaissance , fitted with cameras and ELINT equipment . these jets in 70's bigining 80's were flying freely at mach 3 at high altitude in moroccan , south spanish airspaces . no plane could intercept them , no defense system could reach them at that time . 8 Likes

rka1:yes ofc it does they Egyptian army is having a big issues in Sanai and they have to change their tactics and training to adapt to that... compared to their capabilities the Egyptians are failing big time there but that's due to the fact that because of camp David agreement the Egyptians had no right to deploy there army in Sinai until recently so their armed groups got out hands even before the revolution... the problem with the Egyptians they rely a lot on conscripts more so than regular soldiers and well trained ones and as I said they have all the means to succeed but still they fail because they're very slow at adapting. 7 Likes |

Just saw a 30 second video on Twitter @ Obie The NA had just overrun/ repelled a BH position They were a light Armoured Co. All Soldiers were wearing Bulletproof Vests and Helmets. From the 30 second videos. I can determine the Soldiers were well disciplined and significant restructuring of the 200,000 Soldiers is complete. This is the other side of the perspective. 10 Likes |

fachfouch: Exactly why the Nigerian Armed Forces have been restructuring in the past few years with creation of more specialised units as they had no experience of COIN/CT warfare. It takes years to get the desired result, hence there are more successes in the last few weeks/months. Also, with more specialised equipment arriving, there is light at the end of the tunnel. 4 Likes |

fachfouch: The problem is training, it is keeping men for too long on the battle field before rotating them out. Among them are those that have been deployed since 2015, when troops are left for far too long on the war front, they become rusty and less efficient and the sense of professionalism is lost. There are several other units of the military that soldiers dare not be that unprofessional. And then they are also poorly equipped. 2 Likes |

kabe1: Personally not happy with this purchase. Even if it's ONLY ARA and EZUGWU that are made in country, I would rather all vehicles of this category be sourced here. When you consider that the cost of the vehicle and the shipping might be more than that of home made vehicles, you wonder. However, anything that reduces the number of soldiers that will be lost to soft skins is welcome 3 Likes |

mekussa: I don't like this vehicle, I don't think it's a wise purchase, especially considering it's just a Light Armoured Vehicle, we could have sourced locally. The Army should have gone for the ARA and Ezugwu class vehicles. I really don't see the advantage this vehicle provides over what we have in Nigeria. If we say cost, the fact that Nigerians are building in Nigeria, forex saving, jobs provided and technical expertise should ordinarily cover for a cheaper cost of this vehicle.
