Yes, i understand better now. I only know some in Lagos, not in the east. But i guess they should be in the east also. Goodluck with that sis. Something positive will come up for you hopefully.
Thanks. By the way could you pm me info on that one you know in lag? The issue here is budget. Would be too costly transporting a band down there to perform. But who knows, pm me.

. . . . Is it that you want different bands to sing or you want the 'same' (one) band that is versatile in igbo and yoruba songs ?
For instance, there are right here in lagos bands that could perform using both languages. I've seen couple of them, probably Ibo guyz born and bred in Lagos and can perform for both audiences.

All I'm looking for is "a local band" (emphasis on "a" ) who's versatile "in both igbo and Yoruba" songs but based in the East. It might be a Yoruba group who have lived all their lives in the East. I wouldn't know. Just sourcing for recommendations. Hope you understand now.

Yes, Imo state precisely. Thanks.

Good Morning All,

Please does anyone know of a music band in the East that can perform in both Yoruba and Igbo Languages.

I mean such band who's very versatile with both Yoruba and Igbo songs, especially inclusion of local drums (the talking drum most importantly) . I've got an event coming and I'm looking for a local band ( highlife, gospel, juju, or whatever) could entertain the guests which would majorly comprise the two tribes.

Scammers stay off.

Wow! Kudos to all of you that contributed in helping in one way or the other towards putting smile on this guys face. May God bless you all. I'm seriously touched to see nairalanders helping one another, putting our religious and ethic orientation behind us. I must apreciate the level of MATURITY between folks in Family section, so parallel to what's obtainable in the "Tribalistic " Bigots Paradise (politics section) where they'll make you bliv all Nigerians are Cannibals and can make a good stew out of opposing tribe. You people are always eager to help the distress. I just hope Nigerians would not turn this into a trend as in the case of the "stow away" kid.

God bless you all.

sending her out of the camp at that time is wickedness. people have what they stand for. some don't wear jewelries, some don't eat this and so many. i have a Muslim friend that refused to March after rehearsing for so many days because they asked them to march with their crested vest alone. She said she cannot expose her hands. That was it,she left the parade. Who crucified her?please lets be reasonable.

Every mans belief is personal and should be respected. Nigeria comprises of numerous people each having their faith, believe and religion. No one has the right to judge anyone. if she sees it fit not no wear trousers, good and fine, what's the big deal? she never called those wearing it sinners or people sharing fence with the devil.Except you feel you are one.

Hope this would teach other erring police officers lesson.
Whatever you're doing someone is watching you. It may not be a visible eye, but someone somewhere is recording everything.

amarilo: From the video, he is not acting alone. They should find out who is wasiu and the oga he told wasiu to inform about the booking of the jeep. All of them are guilty of the offence too.

In the course of investigation they'll definitely get hold of his accomplice(s).

UPDATE!!!
Following circulation of a video showing a police officer negotiating bribe with a Lagos motorist Tuesday afternoon, authorities of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that the officer whose behaviour has been described as unethical has been arrested.

The video sent to us by a News Bytes’ Community Watcher showed the policeman demanding a sum of twenty five thousand naira (N25,000) from the motorist who indicated he was coming from the airport, heading to Ajah (also in Lagos) and had no means of raising such amount on the spot. (See video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akW87zPz_UM).

The statement by the Police Force reads:

The Policeman involved in the unprofessional and shameful act as seen in a video clip currently in circulation on the social media has been identified. He is a Sergeant with Force Number 192954 (Name withheld) attached to the Lagos State Command Motor Traffic Division (State MTD).

He has been arrested and currently in detention awaiting the commencement of his orderly room trial (Nigeria Police version of court).

The Inspector General of Police IGP MD Abubakar has directed the Commissioner of Police Lagos State to ensure that the orderly room trial is concluded in record time.

The IGP therefore reiterates his assurance to the public of his zero tolerance to any form of corrupt practices involving any Police officer.

He equally advises citizens to take advantage of the use of the Nigeria Police Force’ complaint email address; policemonitor@npf.gov.ng which guarantees their confidentiality in forwarding all manners of complaints of unethical conduct involving any police officer or security agent for necessary action.

depending on the meaning it holds for you.
You should note that its what you use to exchange vows.
So wedding ring can signify a convenant between married people. A reminder (of chastity).
