chris51: My honest advice is to put the N5m into a reputable bank & fix It for a short time. During this period, you can make all your enquiries about business etc.
If you don't fix the money immediately, there are many vultures who will give you useless ideas because they are interested in your money
I'm being honest with you because I'm an experienced grand mother who retired from work in a managerial position & will not want you to lose money to tricksters
Good luck

Best advice so far...fix your money in a bank, a decent bank shld give u 700k per year on a 5million naira fixed deposit. Then use that time to investigate areas u are interested in...no business U go into will succeed unless u take out time to find out more about it. And I mean serious research,go to people doing the business and invest time in asking them and watching how they do the business,u could also import stuff from china. im currently doing that and its pretty lucrative but u still have to know wat to import and how to know fake and substandard suppliers. Every business has its good and bad sides so you really need time to get to master the rudiments...best of luck and don't go giving your money to others to help u make more...the average man is selfish and will only do Things to favour himself...be wise!

NYSC / Re: The Best NYSC CDS Group To Join? by RabboniX(m): 10:03am On Oct 19, 2013
Okiki_Oluwa: Editorial (Publicity) CDS all the way.
Why? Cos it's the King of all CDS.
How can you be a member?
Join the Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) from camp. Be an active member in order to be recognized & posted to the town. Automatically, all Editorial or Publicity CDS members are posted to state capitals.
Editorial/Publicity CDS members from diff states are in charge of producing the monthly NYSC newsletters, the NYSC year magazine, radio & TV station programs, sensitizing schools among others. With collaboration with the NYSC PR Unit, they are the mouth piece of all other CDS & the NYSC.
Last Bullet:
If you manage to join Editorial/Publicity CDS & luck come smile on you to become the Presido, chai!
You don hammer!
Although, it's not easy to become a member of the OBS in camp not to talk of becoming an Editorial/Publicity CDS member.
Presidents of the Editorial/Publicity CDS are more powerful than Corper Liason Officers (CLOs). During my NYSC service year, I was the Editorial/Publicity CDS President of my set. I worked hard, had sense, swagg & knew the way.
Long live Editorial/Publicity CDS!
Other CDS which I can recommend for people are: NYSC Band, Charity (The big boys & girls click. You go donate money like Dangote), Dance & Drama, Culture & Tourism.

Very true, this cds gives u immunity both in camp and during ur service year, u practically live above the law. I was president during my service year in abuja and it was really fun!

TV/Movies / Jose Mourinho Launches His Own Children’s Cartoon by RabboniX(m): 10:37pm On Sep 03, 2013
‘Jose Mourinho and the Special Ones’ is set to hit screens in Portugal in the coming days, with the Chelsea manager giving the green light to the programme.

The show, put together by Sport Stars Media, revolves around a youngster who gets spotted by Mourinho playing in a local match, before the Portuguese tactician decided to help transform him into a global superstar.

The random plot and Pokémon style graphics makes for interesting viewing, but Mourinho says the series is designed to ‘combine education and entertainment’.
‘I believe the series Mourinho and the Special Ones truly combines education and entertainment. I am proud to be part of this project,’ he said at the launch.

Mourinho and the Special Ones will also have a trading card game and a mobile app to follow

Celebrities / See Pen That Checks For Wrong Spellings by RabboniX(m): 5:18pm On Jul 20, 2013
(CNN) -- Wher woud some of us bea withoot spell check?

The sometimes annoying, but frankly indispensable computer aid has spared billions of typographical blushes.

Now, an ingenious prototype pen developed by a German start-up is promising to give our longhand writing a similar sort of safety net.
Lernstift (German for "learning pen"wink is a digital pen with a difference, carrying not only ink inside its casing but also a tiny computer that alerts users to spelling errors.

Daniel Kaesmacher, co-founder of Lernstift told CNN: "Basically there are two functions. The calligraphy mode which helps you correct individual letters, and the orthography mode which vibrates when a word is misspelled."

The AAA battery-powered Linux computer includes a vibration module and a patent pending non-optical motion sensor which recognizes specific movements and shapes of letters and words.

The pen employs a menagerie of sensors, including a gyroscope (for measuring orientation), accelerometer (for calculating propulsion) and magnetometer (a device that measures the strength and direction of magnetic fields) -- all to calculate the pen's 3-D movements.
Interactive: The future of 3D printing

Lernstift recognizes all writing movements, the company says, written on paper or in the air and built-in Wi-Fi allows scribblers to connect with smartphones, computers or other pens in a network.

The pen was invented by software developer and Lernstift founder Falk Wolsky after seeing his wife's frustrations at watching their son struggle with his homework. Why can't pens give instant feedback on mistakes? she asked.

His imagination fired, Wolsky set about constructing a prototype before assembling a team of hardware and software experts late last year.
"We are at the stage where the individual components do their job. We haven't put it together yet, but the response to the idea though has been overwhelming," Kaesmacher said.

The pen has been designed primarily as an educational tool and the Munich-based company are hopeful that dyslexic children will find the new pen particularly useful.
Greg Brooks, Professor Emeritus of Education at the UK's University of Sheffield gave the pen a cautious welcome.
"It's a neat idea in principle, but as ever the proof will be in the using of it," Brooks said via email.
"Will it learn individuals' quirks of handwriting, or insist on one style? I can see how it might be programmed to spot obvious spelling errors (non-words), just as the spellcheckers in word processors do -- but none of those can yet cope with real-word errors."

A Kickstarter campaign recently got underway looking to raise £120,000 ($180,000) and tests in schools will begin later this year.

The first pens will initially recognize only English and German spellings, but other languages will follow, says Kaesmacher.
"Learning your native language is one thing, but it's also the perfect tool to adapt for foreign language students," he says.
"From a cultural point of view, the pen is a wonderful bridge between cursive and technological worlds."

Eventually, the company plan to offer pencil, fountain and ballpoint pen options with a launch price between €120-150 ($160-200) falling to under €50 ($60) depending on how fast the company grow.

Investment / Re: Gtbank Savings Account Interest Payments Replaced By Deductions by RabboniX(m): 10:11am On Jul 20, 2013
Please OP don't spread untrue stories...I've been with GTB for over 7yrs and I have never experienced any unauthorized deduction from my account.
I must say GTB gives one of the highest interest rates on savings account...the same goes for First Bank, they only deduct SMS alert charges which is very low...
if you want interests then u shouldn't withdraw up to five times in a month from your account, frequent withdrawals means your money can't be used for business by the bank so your interest will be less to nothing.
If you have a reasonable sum of money in your account and your withdrawals are not too frequent then you will get a fair interest
I get interests all the time on my GTB and First Bank accounts....up to four digits sums

However, it has led to a surge in cases of eye infections and can even cause blindness, doctors have warned
The bizarre fetish, which is also known as ‘worming’, was uncovered by the Japanese website, Naver Matome, which revealed that videos of eyeball licking have been posted on YouTube.
