Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Any Hope For Graduates With 2nd Class Lower? by rave2u: 5:39pm On Apr 18, 2013
What is the hope for a female cousin of mine who studied abroad. She graduated with a first class (3.84 on a scale of 4), was the best graduating student in her department, she won 4 awards (3 Dean's list and Top Graduating student).

She's back in Nigeria and is currently working with a Company that pays her 50k (she says its for the experience) while she waits for B Batch.

What are her chances of getting a good job after service?

Hello,

Someone I know is currently doing her undergraduate degree in Turkey and would be graduating early next year. She intends pursuing a Masters in Canada next year. She's sure of an admission because her CGPA is very high. I wanna know is best for her to apply from the Canadian Embassy in Turkey or should she go back to Nigeria?

I heard these Nigerian songs somewhere. I couldn't get the name of the musicians but at the end of the first song it ends with something like "Yoribo" and the second song is a gospel song that is sang by a Nigerian choir and part of the lyrics goes like this "His worthy to be praised eh eh eh eh eh His worthy to be praised eh eh eh eh eh eh"

Please can anyone help me with the name of either songs? Thank you.

Ibime: Its a shame that our mods in this section dont know the difference between Turkey and Cyprus

Actually they didn't get it wrong. Cyprus is divided into two parts. The northern side (Where the university is located at) is under Turkey. So we could still say its in Turkey.

meksroland: What's the rank of the university in the world like John Hopkins is the best in medicine. ABU is better than that skool

You definitely must be on cheap drugs!

According to Webometrics the university is ranked 1025 in the world

http://www.webometrics.info/details.asp?univ=emu.edu.tr

According to URAP the university is ranked 1696 on the world based on Academic Perfomance

http://www.urapcenter.org/2011/university.php?q=Eastern+Mediterranean+University

Please what is ABU's ranking?

Education / Re: 2,000 Unemployed Youths Sit For Agric-yes Exam In Agege, Lagos by rave2u: 5:03pm On Feb 27, 2012
mukina2:

About 2,000 unemployed youths stormed the Lagos State Agricultural Development Authority, ADA, Agege, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, last week to sit for the Agricultural Youth Empowerment Scheme, Agric-YES, examination.

The Agric-YES is a programme aimed at empowering the youths of Lagos State in modern agricultural practice. The overall aim of the scheme is to breed a new generation of agro-entrepreneurs in poultry, fish farming, bee-keeping and all season vegetable farming.

The successful applicants will undergo a six-month course at the Agricultural Training Institute, Araga, Epe.

From the 2,000 youths who sat for the examination last week, only 100 successful applicants will be taken to participate in the six months scheme, where the youths will be equipped in mechanised agriculture and given micro-credit facilities to set up their own agric ventures.

Some of the youths who spoke with Alausa Rhythms shortly before writing the examination lauded the programme but lamented that only 100 youths would be taken out of the 2,000. They appealed to the government to extend the number to 500.

The usage of words by Nigerian journalists cracks me up! How did they storm the venue please? Does the writer even know the meaning of "stormed" smh.

As he was pushing backward, I was pushing forward(In my mind I was like if you like push till tomorrow, I no gree fall). The annoyance was written all over his face. I never knew it was by force to fall.

Hey Everyone,
I got a question. A friend of mine applied for the US visiting visa last year from another country of residence where she's studying and got rejected because of proof of social ties, My question now is she wants to apply for a visiting visa again this December with stronger evidence of social ties but also wants to participate in the US visa lottery program in October, does this affect her chances of getting the visa in December?
