The bonus of 1 new share. The price of the 6 shares must equate to the price of the previous 5 shares.
PharmAlfred:

Where did your 6 come from on the Price after Mark Down line?

Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 9:54am On May 25, 2020
You only have to multiply the price with the units to know if this is correct. N19.76 × 1200 plus the dividend 2000 will not give you N27200
25712 is lower compared with N27200
TLAX:

For each stock with assumed closing price of @ 27.2

1 for 5 is 20% mark down = N5.4
Dividend is another N2 mark down

Total Markdown is N7.4

Price after mark down is N27.2 - 7.4 = N19.76.

All mark down actions will be on the closing price on the qualification date.

My thoughts. More opinions please.
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 8:11am On May 25, 2020
it closed on Friday at N27.2, say Wednesday is the mark down date. The dividend declared will be removed from closing price i.e 27.2 minus 2 = 25.2 . A bonus of 1 for 5 was declared.
Let us say an investor owns 1,000 units.
Pre Mark down 27.2 × 1000 = 27,200

After Mark down
dividend 2 × 1000 = 2000
Bonus = 1/5 × 1000 = 200

Price after Mark down 27.2 -2 =25.2 ×5/6= 21

27.2×1000 = 27200
21×1200 + 2000 =27200

Great investors, please I wish to ask what the price of Julius Jerger would be after mark down considering the double script of dividend and bonus? Thank you

Caberton has done well by putting out information that 2020 is going to be a tough year for the company. If you see it at N1.50 it will not be a bad idea to buy for long term.

You understand their SINISTER GAME very well.

In 2018 their target price was N17.80k did it happen? N0!

In 2019 their TP was N13.66k did it happen? NO!

Then this year that the unbuddling will take they yeye analyst now reduced their TARGET PRICE to N8.26k since they are looking for ways to increase their holdings..

Even as today the current market price is N8.35k which is above their fictitious TP grin that tells they are wrong.

In 2018 UACN the parents coy raised N16.2b via a right issue at the rate of N16 per share

One company I still dont understand is Notore, at the start of Planting Season this year, Fertilizer went scarce especially urea and sold for 9k a bag............ Farmers that did not anticipate the scarcity had to purchase else where, I know of many that joined hands and purchased Urea 3 states away from their resident states........ Word has it that Fertilizer Producers are putting pressure on Government especially State Government to remove fertilizer subsidies......... I see the effects a little bit in Flour mills but Notore which is just a fertilizer company keeps declaring Loss Quarter after Quarter in the face of Country Wide fertilizer Scarcity..................... I would love a good response to this

The workers union is totally irresponsible to expect that their members would be paid as if all is normal. I do not like why it is difficult for companies to inform the market on the steps they have taken to remain afloat during this pandemic. It cannot be business as usual.
emmanuelewumi:

They have not made any revenue in 8 weeks, I learnt the workers Union are challenging the 50% reduction in salaries.
Workers were paid for 2019, it will be fair for shareholders to also be paid for 2019 business year. We are all in this together for 2020

I like that part of "they should expect dividend". Management does not think like this Sir. They see the business more than the shareholders.
emmanuelewumi:

NAHCO equally made profits for the year 2019, so shareholders should expect dividends no matter how small
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 11:43am On May 19, 2020
Oga mi, all na flatter to deceive. By the time the dividend is factored into the share capital of the company, the outstanding share capital of the company will be over 13b. What is annoying is how you cannot even give a dividend to shareholders on EPS of 83k. In Q1 EPS has reduced to 27k and the dilution because of the bonus will take it below 20k. Leapfrog that newly bought into the coy paid N1.20 per share, this is understandable because it is not only dividend that will be their rewards. Contracts, bonuses, rewards etc ... are awaiting them. In Insurance sector, only NEM and Custodian are worth any investors cash. Others are just good for JIJO.

Reduction of dividend or no dividend at all. Nahco's revenue is largely dependent on the activities of the Airlines both the human and cargo aspect. Shareholders are the last to be considered when a company is fighting for its survival. What CAP Plc's management did was totally uncalled for. i think the shareholders should demand a dividend at the AGM.
emmanuelewumi:

The discussions I had with Oga OGG must have been to balance views. Please note that no one here is paid to share information. I just took a second look at Neimeth Q4 unaudited and I cannot yet see value in the stock. That a stock is able to return 100% within a short time does not make it a must for everyone to enter. Some stocks are very illiquid.

@Rebekah, I respect you a lot! It is not enough to say someone is wrong without pointing out how (s)he is wrong. You could have at least presented a counter-narrative.

Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 12:12pm On May 14, 2020
The bold is what I stated is not correct. Finance Bill makes provision for a company whose turnover is less than 25m to be exempted from VAT and payment of income tax. PBT- this is profit before tax. This is different from Turnover or Revenue. Please do not be offended for my non-clarification before now.

(I remember this post from last year. Some Pharmaceutical coys will churn out better balance sheet this season.

The 2020 budget favours companies whose PBT is less then #25M.
so what that means is that they will be exempted from CIT (company income tax) in 2020 and probably going forward.

Caveat - Due diligence is expected from you.
nna777:

Mr Rebekah. I should have overlooked this matter but I think it's important that I comment on it.

I think it's important when you say something I posted is not correct, it's only fair to point out my error so that it can be clarified and we can move on.

The reasons being that people come here daily to shift through information in order to make investments decisions and most importantly credibility of the information posted is good to go.

The information I posted was actually not only accurate but correct as I have gone through the finance bill to recheck. to say that it isn't correct affects my credibility on this platform and thread as it means I didn't do my due diligence before posting.

The fact that you posted this morning and ignoring my earlier comment to clarify if I was in the wrong is not proper. I think it's only fair if you acknowledge your oversight so we can find closure and move on. I hope you live up to expectation as a respected member of this thread grin. Thank you. A snippet from the bill below

Prior to the amendment of the finance bill, all entities and companies in Nigeria have been mandated to pay company income tax on their income, but with the new amendment of the bill, micro and small enterprises are no longer automatically required to pay company income tax, where small businesses in this regard are classified as companies with an annual turnover of N25 million or less.”
