One year today I left Nigeria. I won't lie even though my research was solid, I was still very scared. I remember when the plane crossed the Andes mountains and the pilot mentioned they were landing in Santiago in 40 minutes I was super scared. My mind was like this isn't Google, reddit, wikipedia or the economist. This is real life. A place with hardly any Nigerians or anyone. No one speaks English.

A year later, I am proud to say coming here was the second best decision I have made in my entire life. Men, I will always bet on myself always. Men in this life, whatever comes to your mind go and do it. It's better to do it and fail than to not do it at all. I don't even believe in failure. It's a social construct. The real failure in life is not doing or taking any action at all.

I believe even if I came here and it didn't work out in anyway for me, I would still have had the experience of at least knowing another country, making friends and also knowing a new language. But men I have found everything I want here. I have friends, I have girls, I have good jobs. I have everything everything I want or need

There was pandemonium at Azikiwe street in Mile 2 Diobu, Porthacourt, Rivers state on Sunday,28th July 2024 as a man whose identity is unknown fell and went into coma seconds after coming out of a brothel in the street.

Our correspondent who saw the man in his unconscious state reports that he had bitter kola, alligator pepper, in his possession

Efforts to reach his family proved abortive as hoodlums was reported to have stolen his phone immediately he fell before passersby and other business owners in the area became aware of the situation.

Sources told our reporter that the man was in one of the brothel when he started complaining of chest pain and he quickly came out of the brothel to take a vehicle to his destination when he fell and went into coma.

Our correspondent who was on ground reports that as at the time the Azikiwe Police Division arrived with ambulance to take the man to a medical facility, the man was no longer breathing.

It could also be ascertained if the man finally lost his life or not as at press time.

I have never seen Justice Omotosho given unfavorable judgement to any case Wike has interest. This is not to opined that Wike has interest Philip's case.

As part of the transition programme from military regime to elected civilian government, local government elections were conducted in 1999 across the country for a three-year term. While the consistent attempts by state governments to weaken local governments in the country is not yet new, the complacency of the federal government and the possible complicity in the delay of Local Government election is disturbing. The state government all over the country are not interested in conducting election in the Local Councils across the country because the non-conduct of election gave them the absolute control over Local Government machinery in their respective states. It is sad that the state government have failed to appreciate the fact that Local Government is fundamentally an integral part of democracy. They have undermined Section 7(1) of 1999 constitution which guarantees democratically elected Local Government council across the country, only few states had witness election since 1999 till date.
