The mother of the Head of Anti-Cult Group in Boboroku Community in Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State, Mrs Onokero Nesisa Ogude has raised an alarm over the threat by some cult boys identified as Evans Akponu Tobi and Venture Godwin Ogbeni in Boboroku Community to behead the Head of Anti-cult Group in the community, Mr. Nesisa Believe Ovefe Ogude to have dared arrest some of their members who beat up and injured one Hausa trader in the community.


Mrs Ogude raised the alarm today Thursday when speaking with Bailout Magazine. She said, yesterday (Wedneday,2022) there was misunderstanding between Evans Akponu Tobi and Venture Godwin Ogbeni’s cult group and one Hausa trader in the community and they (Cult group) beat up and injured the Hausa trader. Angered by their action, the Head of Anti-cult Group in the community and some community men arrested the cult boys involved.

The Delta State Police Command have neutralized two suspected kidnappers in Delta Community. In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe said on the 24th December, 2022 at about 2300hours, operatives of ‘B’ Division Warri patrol team, while on night surveillance patrol duty along Okumagba Estate Roundabout in Warri South LGA, intercepted a tricycle with two male occupants and they were subjected to a search.


The statement added that during the search, three live cartridges concealed under the seat of the tricycle were recovered and the suspects were taken into custody.

A middle aged woman yet to be identified, has been reportedly killed in Orhoakpor Community in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. It was gathered that this killing was a result rival cult clashes in the community. It was gathered that not quite long, one person was earlier killed while the people of the community are still mourning the dead of the person when another aged woman was also allegedly killed again in secret cult related issues which, up till date, reason for their clashes is yet unknown.

Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has said, the state government would strive to implement capital projects embedded in the 2023 Budget as well as endeavour to complete ongoing projects before the end of his tenure. The Governor stated this when he signed the 2023 Appropriation Bill which amounts to N571.6bn on Friday at Asaba the state capital.


The Budget which is the last to be signed by Okowa as Governor of the state, comprises N235.5 billion for recurrent expenditure and N336.1billion as capital expenditure.

The Delta State Police Command has arrested suspected six armed robbers/kidnappers who operate in the guise of being vigilantes/ hunters in Delta community. In a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe said on the 15th December 2022 at about 2000hrs, Police operatives attached to Ekpan Police station deployed on patrol along Jakpa Road, intercepted a Toyota Sienna space bus, ash in colour without registration number conveying six male occupants.


The Policemen on suspicion subjected them to a search during which three (03) pump action guns, four (04) locally made guns, one (01) long axe, seven (07) expended cartridges, nine (09) live cartridges, native charms, three (03) cutlasses, two (02) number plates were recovered from them.

In a press release signed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe said, on the 13th December, 2022, at about 0200 hours,the Divisional Police Officer, Ozoro got a distress call that a man living along Owhelogbo Road in Ozoro in Isoko North Local Government Area, was attacked by assailants who shot at him, forced him into the trunk of his own car and sped off. According to the statement, the DPO, CSP Ogedengbe Areguamen on receiving the information, mobilized and led his police operatives/ vigilantes to Owhelogbo Road and other parts of exit in Ozoro in a bid to rescue the kidnapped victim and possibly arrest the suspects.

As 2023 general elections draw near, the Chairman, The Committee For The Defence Of Human Rights (CDHR), Delta State branch, Comrade Jonathan Giama has cautioned against the use of violence by political parties’ candidates vying for different political offices in the country. The Ijaw Christian Association of Nigeria (ICAN) said one of its visions is to empower the needy with sustainable means of livelihood in the society. The organization stated this when it held its annual programme that comes up first Saturday of December, held in Shell Ram Warri in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State over the weekend. In his key note address, the Chairman of the Ijaw Christian Association of Nigeria (ICAN), Pastor Eyiki Ekpolade said, the body gathered to thank God for His goodness, mercies, kindness, preservation, protection and provision for the year ending, adding, it is not everybody who started this year that is able to end it. He said:”A lot of people that saw this y ear, January, did not live to see the second month let alone the third month and here we are on the twelve month!, Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!”.

Two armed- robbery suspects have been reportedly shot dead in Delta Community by the Police. The armed -robbers died in gun duel with police officers in their (robbers) bid to escape. The robbery suspects are Gift Famous A.KA “Bobone” “m” aged 29 years and Edafe Friday Onaibe AKA “Laslas” 1500 “m” aged 25 years.


In a press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, said, on the 2nd December, 2022, the Divisional Police Officer in Ovwian Aladja, CSP Aliyu Shaba, acting on a tip off that two members of the dreaded”Momotimi” gang who had been on the police wanted list for their criminal activities in Warri and other parts of the state, were sighted in a beer parlour at Opete Community in Ovwian Division in Udu Local Government Area ,Delta State. The statement said, armed with this information, the DPO led a team of police operatives and went after them. The statement added that, when the two robbers sighted the police, they opened fire on the police in a bid to escape adding, the police returned fire while giving them a hot chase saying, they were arrested with fatal injuries.

According to the statement, the items recovered from the armed robbery suspects include one locally made single barrel pistol, one cut- to- size locally made double barrel gun, six live cartridges and round of 7.62 AK47 live ammunition. The statement said, both of them died on their way to the hospital. It said, before they died, they have confessed to several robbery attacks, assassination including the murder of Douglas Abugu in Ekpan on the 18th August 2022 because he (Douglas) took over his position of Quarter Chairman when he(Gift Famous) was in prison and he could not get it back on his return. They also confessed to have murdered one” small doctor” in the same Ekpan axis on the 22nd August, 2022.

As part of efforts to ensure that Labour Party (LP), comes victorious in 2023 general elections, Barr. Robert Omote has abandoned his former party, All Progressive Congress (APC), for the Labour Party (LP) saying, both the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the All Progressive Congress (APC) have failed Nigeria in all ramifications.


Barr. Omote who is a native of Ogorivwo-Ovu in the Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State made this known while speaking with newsmen in a phone conversation recently.

According to him, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressive Congress (APC) have failed Nigerians, saying, the party that can salvage Nigerians is Labour Party on which platform Peter Obi is gunning for Presidency. He said:” Before now, l was a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), a member of Alliance for Democracy (AD), as well as Democratic People’s Party (DPP), while l was in each of these parties, l worked for their growth and development”.

He added:” As a member of Labour Party, in order to ensure that Peter Obi wins the Presidency, l have been coordinating a Political Pressure Group known as: “Young Professionals For Peter Obi and Ahmed Dattis Movement” and l was able to use this group to converse support for Peter Obi and other Labour Party candidates for people to vote the party which will be the only political party that can transform Nigeria”.
