@Aloofaa, I was totally pleased to see a trait lacking in so many professionals. The "attention to details". It takes one who has got impeacable eyes with all senses working together and soundly (if there's a word like that) too to observe what you pointed out. This post could earn you a great job; believe me. The power to see and read inbetween lines, the power to pick out flaws from a supossedly perfect thing is great! May I mention anyways, that air jardon may have sponsored the outfit and thus the attire. Hit the road man, you are headed for a good boardroom someday! Good luck.

Career / Re: Secretaries (Or Personal Assistants) On Nairaland by SandyRocks1(f): 8:54am On Jan 26, 2007
[tt]@Chartered institute of adminstrators and secretaries, I see it as more of company secretary stuff than Admin Secretary where i assume we belong? Do coys employ Chartered Secretaries without law background as Company Secretaries? I doubt it. Thats why i don't really give attention to that institute, i feel company sec and admin sec are two different professions. I stand to be corrected.[/tt]

My peace, I agree with you. Not the same but Legal secretaries doing better than Admin secs. U must not practice Company secretaryship if you do not want to. A complete module in the course teaches Company Law; which is what the Legal sec needs to practice. Firms can/do and will always need your services if you know what you are about. The ultimate is even running your own biz of consulting for firms who can't have Legal secs on their pay roll. (The fees being high). You get chartered as an ADMINISTRATOR too; which is what you doing at the moment uh! This cert. is global and has an intergrity appeal. It really is just choice you know. Perhaps you want administration but I think taking Secretaryship to another level won't be bad. Afterall the responsibilities are almost same with Legal taking you staright to senior management level and to the boardroom. Please everyone roll in  your ideas on this issue. Thanks.
Career / Re: Secretaries (Or Personal Assistants) On Nairaland by SandyRocks1(f): 4:22pm On Jan 19, 2007
Beau1, yes the Nigerian chapter hasn't got a site. Doesn't hinder anything though, lectures are even way cheaper at Lagos which makes it better as compared to the north. If anyone is from a relevant background, i.e Law, you have just 4 papers to write each costing £200 with an initial registration fees of NGN23,000.00. If from any other background, i.e irrelevant background, then you have to write 6 papers where I belong. You  can locate the office at Alausa in Lagos for every dam detail enquiry as I may not be able to give every info you require. Pls my people, look beyod the cost of the exams. You can practice anywhere in the world with this certificate. Imagine combining it with a wonderful masters afterwards. Good luck.

Oh my! I am really encouraged by this thread. I appreciate all contributions and contributors. Pls pls pls, someone suggested getting chartered with Institutee of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA); no one commented and it died there. I strongly encourage us all to give it a thought. It is such a wonderful certification; no one can beleive the returns of it. pls my people, make enquires, read about it and give it a shot. I intend to start writting my own exams mid year (2007). You can sell for life with those exams if you take them seriously and come out tops. Good luck to everyone and happy new year.

Religion / Re: What Did You Learn At Church Today? by SandyRocks1(f): 9:22am On Jul 24, 2006
I learnt that it is better to know God and His ways, and if God reveals His ways to you then; you can apply them to get all your issues and concerns resolved at all times;other than seeking Him to solve probs.
at all times.

ICSA - Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators

Please are there any chartered secretaries in the house? I have been thinking of these exams for so long now, I wish to hear real experiences and want to know if company secretary jobs are reserved for just people with LLBs/ Is there a discriminitaion between non lawyers and Lawyers? even when they are chartered? Many thanks for your contributions.
Celebrities / Re: What's Up With Stella Damascus-Aboderin? (After Husband's Death) by SandyRocks1(f): 11:32am On Apr 03, 2006
Hey! That woman is something else! Beauty and brains defined! She is the best things that has happened to TV in Nigeria oh, she doesnt fake, dam down-to-earth and extremely reseanable in all her conversations.

Only few people can handle the shock of death the way that woman did, it takes only the grace of God.

Stella was obviously overwhelmed by the death of her husband, but hey, is she now to live in the dust for 20years to proove a point? Thats the greatest thing any one can do. she has to stand up and sustain her late husband's businesses.

I love that chic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
