Family / Re: Can Someone Marry HIV Patient? by Sisi99: 1:51pm On Feb 13, 2019

HIV is not a death sentence like our Nigerian society has made it seem. It's just a viral infection. A person with HIV who is serious with AVR will live a very healthy life.

Problem only arises when the patient continually deviates from the required patern of taking the treatment. This can cause a predominant growth of a resistant virus strain.

When the resistant virus dominates in ur body, AVR are no longer effective on you. Na there ur actual problem go start.

Anyway HIV is way better than cancer. It's completely possible for a HIV positive woman to marry a negative man, give birth and even breastfeed negative children.

It's just ignorance that is dealing with Nigerian's as it regards HIV

Politics / Re: In C/river, Buhari, Atiku To Share Votes by Sisi99: 8:29am On Feb 13, 2019
senatordave1:

Oga,seems you haven't investigated the state apc.one of the factors that will help apc is that they fielded popular candidates like prince otu, alex egbona, victor assure, wabilly Brian, ekarika etc who have mass popularity and will surely attract votes for apc.look at the candidates of Pdp like gershom and gaul that are loathed everywhere including their village.
Again, apc dominates lgas like obubra, yakurr, odukpani, etung, akpabuyo etc.pdp are finding it hard to campaign here.things are hard for pdp.

leave all these names alone, they are only trying to be politically relevant. Prince Otu, only In calabar South, Alex only his Local Govt, Leave all those LGAs you are mentioning. Stories that touch the heart.

QuotaSystem:
Of course, we already knew that.

Gov. Ben Ayade has never hidden his love & support for Buhari, and Donald Duke just recently endorsed Buhari, not to mention other crowd pullers like Sen. Ndoma Egba and the spillover from Akpabio/Amaechi's influence in the region. Add that to lack of the usual PDP federal might to rig and write 95% results for themselves in the SS.

However, the final nail in Atiku's political coffin was last nights perfectly timed ACF endorsement of Buhari as Arewa's candidate. If you know, you know.

PMB Sak! cool cool

Ayade is only a political Diplomat, like Wike, not like the noise making Fayose. Pls Forget Don influence in the state. Why do you mention Amechi to cross River issues, who is he? Even in Rivers he can't kill a fly. Akpabio's reign ends in Aks, even within Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district alone.

I would gladly marry an HIV patient. Provided that she gives me peace of mind in the marriage.

Also, if we are rich enough, she'd live healthier than most HIV negative Nigerians.

Heck! We could even have raw coitus if she is religious with her medications and has low enough viral load.

I love your coherent respond, but what explanations do you have to back up your views.

Can you imagine? The man will be taking drugs when he's not sick shocked

Hmmm!. If it is only taking drugs alone is a different, but if any other infection set in, it is dangerous here. This is base on some answers above and other findings. Anyway it is good to stay safe.

@liba what i'm surprise some times in nairaland is picking loop holes to criticise and condemn ordinarily what should not have been a problem. One longevity is naturally orchestrated by God, i thought they could be any evidence of such cases or not.
Family / Re: Can Someone Marry HIV Patient? by Sisi99: 10:40pm On Feb 10, 2019
CosmicSensation:
HIV as a virus is not what kills its patients. What it does is to open the door for just about any disease causing organism to come come in and wreck havoc.
Disease causing organisms that a non infected person ordinarily would be able to keep at bay.

This because the hiv virus attacks the cells in our body whose main job is to defend us from disease causing organisms, rendering us defenseless.

There are no drugs to eliminate the viruses from our body yet, for complex reasons that I don't need to delve into but there are drugs to stop it from multiplying in the body, and these drugs can keep its population to levels that are barely detectable.

At that stage, the patient becomes just like every other person and can live for as long as every other person, as long as he or she continues to take medication.

Like I said before the viral load can even become so low, that they become incapable of infecting anyone else

Thanks once again. This is very educational. This would be added to other contributions.
Family / Re: Can Someone Marry HIV Patient? by Sisi99: 10:39pm On Feb 10, 2019
CosmicSensation:
an HIV patient that takes his medication faithfully, long enough will get to a stage where the viral load is so low, he or she is no longer infectious.
Even with unprotected sex, the spouse can still be safe at that point.
So in theory, yes it could happen. It has happened and it continues to happen

Thanks for educating me here.
