Politics / Re: The Hausas (an Alternate Pespective) by springtime(m): 1:38pm On Apr 22, 2011
Honestly, i must say that sometimes, i find no rational explanation to the killing orgies that is a common occurrence in the North. It is not a problem of poverty or lack of Education, but a deep seated feeling of inferiority and barbaric inclination particularly predominant in the Hausa tribe. Otherwise, how can you explain these; An election result turned out the way you don't want, their response, killing spree of innocent people in cold blood, Someone drew a picture of Mohammed in far away Denmark, response, killing of Christians and southerners in the North here in Nigeria. I don't think we have to blame the politicians and the Imams, because there are equally bad politicians and Imams here in the south, why are they not able to mobilize people to start killing here. My reason for also concluding that it is an hausa problem is this, consider the other so called Northern states like Taraba, Nassarawa, Kogi, Kwara, Benue where Hausas are not the predominant tribe, you will see that these places do not witness such barbarism. I think the Hausas should work on getting a cure to this there bloodletting disease. To the southerners, rather than allowing ourselves to be infected with this Hausa disease, i think we must innoculate ourselves and stand out as the light we truly are to this country.
Politics / Re: Acn Rejects National Assembly Election Results In Kwara by springtime(m): 9:01pm On Apr 13, 2011
Honestly i was expecting ACN to carry the day in Kwara State cos most people i met at my polling booth were in support of the ACN. But i can only talk about my polling booth, i don't know what happened elsewhere. But i know the ACN is well experienced in fighting flawed elections and this INEC will not protect riggers, so if there is any credibility to the allegations of rigging, i am sure the ACN will fight it out.

Education / Re: I Need Help On Thesis On Project Management(msc) by springtime(m): 5:55pm On Jun 07, 2010
Friend,
I had the same problem finding a Ph.D thesis topic, so i can tell you that the major source of information remains the internet. You have to however have specifics in mind for the internet search to be effective. For example, you can start by searching for published research articles on project management. You look thru and if you see anything exciting, you can then narrow your search to that area. All the best in your search.
Religion / Re: Is It Really Sinful To Take Alcohol? by springtime(m): 4:54pm On Sep 09, 2009
As a student of toxicology, i Know that all substances are potential poison, only the quantity determines how poisonous and the effect on the body. According to the Bible, gluttony is a sin (overindulgence in food) does that make food or eating a sin?.Alcohol taken in moderation is o.k, but drunkeenes is Bad.

Education / The Nigerian Educatonal System by springtime(m): 7:15pm On Jul 14, 2009
Education is an act of developing character or mental power. To educate means to give intellectual, moral, and social instruction. The whole process of education is therefore aimed at molding individuals. The kind of mold that results is a consequence of the content of the process which in turn is determined by the preconceived aim of the system.
The aim of the Educational system in the United States of America for example is to produce individuals that will sustain their capitalistic society. Their Educational system is fashioned to produce resourceful, creative and competitively minded individuals hence it is designed with processes that ensures these outcomes. Application of knowledge is given preference over accumulation of knowledge. The former Soviet Union aimed at sustaining their communist society by imputing processes that will emphasize communalism over competition into their educational system. These are just few instances to illustrate how societies have used their educational system to mould their citizens.
What is the aim of our Educational system in Nigeria? What sort of individuals do we expect to emerge from the process; job seekers or job creators, idealistic individuals or mediocres, individuals that can productively apply knowledge for the use of the society or those that simply memorize knowledge for passing exams.

Politics / Re: Governor Bukola Saraki Vs Governor Raji Fashola Who Wins? by springtime(m): 7:05pm On May 06, 2009
Between the two men, i will choose Fashola.I am an indigene of kwara state and i must say here that i respect Bukola Saraki,he is a very brilliant man but because of the way he emerged as the Governor (His father's influence), his politics is tribally oriented in kwara state unlike fashola in lagos where you have even non lagosians in his cabinet. Also when u compare the complexity of lagos state, you will know that a man who has effectively able to administer lagos state will be the most qualified to lead Nigeria.
Travel / Re: Decongesting Lagos: Any Suggestions? by springtime(m): 12:00pm On Oct 22, 2008
The best way to decongest Lagos is for the government to partner with the private sector in creating a modern rail transport system which will enable people to leave as far as kwara state and make it to work in Lagos everyday. If this is done, most people will move out of Lagos to places with cheaper cost of living and still retain their jobs in lagos, it will greatly reduce the population of lagos residents and will also spread development to other states outside of lagos.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Graduate Standardization Examination (gse)! by springtime(m): 4:57pm On Aug 02, 2008
I have mixed feelings towards this GSE stuff. It appears to be a better method of assesing peoples' qualifications for job openings. However the implementation of most good intentioned plans in Nigeria is usually faulty.I hope this will not become another money spinning venture for some crooks.

Politics / Re: Yar’adua Declares War On Militants by springtime(m): 2:17pm On Jun 25, 2008
The niger delta struggle has made a point , i hope they have not pushed their luck too far by allowing criminality to creep into their struggle. I do not blame the president, do we expect him to sit down fold his hands and watch while the Niger delta region decline into anarchy. In the history of the modern world, sustained violence and militancy have always achieved little and have always been counter productive rather, diplomacy and non violent struggle have always been a better alternative. The recent expulsion of shell from Ogoni land is a proof of this. I hope the Niger delta militants will not learn this the bloody way. In arms, they are not strong enough to face the Nigerian Armed forces.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Who Is Tired Looking For Jobs? Lagos Strategic Conference: 5th July. by springtime(m): 12:45pm On May 13, 2008
I must commend the iniatator of this thread. Anybody that have attended one or two interviews in Nigeria will see the very horrible conditions Nigerian graduates are made to go through all in the name of a job interview. I always wondered why we can not put our academic training to productive use on our own, but i discovered the problem has a lot to do with our education system, otherwise why are professors that are considered epitome of knowledge not the richest in the society. I think as Trained minds whe should brace up to the challenge of organising our knowledge towards a productive end and stop the exploitation of our knowledge and strength by some selfish individuals.
