godofuck231:They actually had a sniper locked on to the guy before he took the shot. I saw online that he asked for permission to shoot, he was ordered not to take the shot by the head of the secret service. He took the shot immediately after the assassin fired, disobeying the order. He got fired after, I think because he disobeyed. The blame should be on the Head of the SS. |

pweetyoge:That's unfortunate. We use the water here for cooking and washing. While it appears clear, it's evident it contains impurities due to its metallic taste, feel and occasional odour. Clean water is non-negotiable to me, and I would have also left. I plan to leave this island too. Also, the mosquitoes and overall conditions are not ideal. |

pweetyoge:Okay thanks a lot. If Dettol and Izzal worked for you, then why did you move out? |

pweetyoge:Greetings. I've just moved to the island and started experiencing this skin reaction. My upper arm is pealing and has inflammation in some parts, and my face is bringing out Eczema. This is something I've never experienced before. Does Dettol work? The house I live in has a filtration system and the water is transparent; Just that it's not that clean, because if you leave it for some days in a white bucket, the body starts turning brown. Also, the water has this metallic feel, That's the best I can describe it. 1 Like |

daniellzz:What phone are you using? I stopped using my phone or laptop for 4 straight months. Neither eye drops nor glasses worked for me. Then, around February 2022, I resumed. I started using dark mode and Night mode filters on my laptop and started following the 20-20-20 rule strictly. I later discovered that my phone was responsible for the whole thing. Once I started using my phone for some minutes, my eyes would start misbehaving, and then when I looked at my laptop, it would continue. So, it seemed as if my eyes were reacting to the screen, but it was actually my phone screen that started the reaction. I used a Redmi 9. I don't know if my eyes are reacting to the screen of that particular phone. I can't explain it. It doesn't affect me that much when I use other phones, but when I look at my Redmi 9, the pain resumes. I installed all my main apps on my PC and only used my phone for bank transfers and making calls. Then, around July or August (I think) 2022, I used my phone to watch Stranger Things and House of Dragon (I mean all the episodes). That was one of the biggest mistakes I made in my life. The eye strain came back. I didn't use my phone and laptop for four straight months again. To cut everything short, I got glasses with blue cut lenses in a hospital, then resumed my stuff. Well, I'm just using the glasses for fashion, not because they do anything special, and I only use them when operating my laptop and phone. I stopped using that Redmi 9, and I only use phones for bank transfers and calls (Just to be on the safe side). My eyes are not as strong as before. That phone really did a lot of damage. Well, I'll say, stop looking at screens for at least four months, then change your phone or the device that triggered the whole thing, and use dark mode on your laptop. You can also use a blue light filter. Well, sometimes dark mode (black mode) can make the eye strain worse for some people. I think black mode is dangerous, but dark mode is okay. Don't use a program with a black or almost black background and white or bright text. The background should be grey, then the text should be light ash. Just know what works for you. For me, light mode is far better than black mode. Dark mode (grey mode) is the best for me. Also, at night, don't look at the screen if there is no external light source. Your room brightness should match the brightness of your screen. Also, while outdoors, increase the brightness of your screen to match that of your environment. You might go to a good eye clinic to get a lens. I think astigmatism increases your chances of experiencing eye strain. The one I use is a blue-cut lens with astigmatism correction. Your eye clinic can provide one that also has an anti-reflective property for you. |

I am looking to register for the GRE and TOEFL exams, and I believe the cost for each exam is approximately 200 dollars. My relative from Europe, has offered to send me the funds for the registration. However, I am unsure about the method I should use to receive the money and make the payment for the exams. I am considering using Geegpay or Grey to receive the funds and pay with their dollar card, but I have not used either platform before. Alternatively, should I open a domiciliary account and pay with the bank's dollar debit card? I am also curious if ETS accepts payments through these cards. For those who have paid for these exams in Nigeria, could you share your experience and the method you used? Additionally, I am contemplating whether the Normal CBT edition or the home edition is better. Your insights on this matter would be greatly appreciated. |

celestialAgent:Sorry for the late reply. Is the name of the eye drop 'Tears', or just the type. The one I've been using is Thea Efemoline. It worked a little sha, but it's finished. I'm not used to dark mode, so I use blue light filter app and dim my screen to near low. |

Thmaartentrends:That's photochromic glass. Didn't work. I later found out that phone does not emit uv light, so it's really useless in this case. Except the fact that it has a green tint, that helps reduce blue light, but twilight and other blue light filter apps can do the job also. |

I overused my phone and computer 2 months ago, so I developed eye stain. This has happened to me b4 like 4 times, but it wore off after 1 to 2 weeks of not operating my phone. This one is worse. I can't look at my phone or laptop for more than 5 minutes without feeling pains at the back of my eyes. I've gone to 2 eye clinics. The first one gave me a glass that magnifies text a little, didn't work. The other gave me a photochromic glass, didn't work. I've tried blinking multiple times, worked a little. 20/20/20 is not possible, because I can't even look at my screen continuously for up to 3 minutes not to talk about 20 minutes. Eye exercise didn't work either. I stopped looking at screen for one week, then 3 weeks, didn't work. Twilight app helped reduced my previous eye strain, but not this one. I don't know if reading glasses or computer glasses will work. Some people told me to stop looking at screen for the next 3 months so my eyes can heal, but I'm a programmer so that's not an option. I don't have any other eye issue apart from this one. No photophobia or myopia. Pls any advice is welcome. |

Kazim88: This is what I think. The problem is complicated, but the solution might not be. Old people don't really want change and they're not ready to learn. They grew up with the tribalistic, self-absorbed mentality, and young people copy from their elders. This process repeats generation by generation till we're doomed. The thing is our elderly never laid any foundation for us, In fact they added more problems. During slavery era, kings failed to work together or merge their kingdom to regain control of shipping routes, rather they betrayed one another thinking the westerners are their allies until they invaded. Before the scramble for Africa, signs were there of possible Western invasion of Africa, but due to selfish reasons and disunity, our traditional leaders failed. During decolonisation, even the founding fathers we praised for independence failed to drop their tribal way of thinking. I don't know what they learnt abroad or maybe they were deceived that their culture is very beautiful. They would've known that a cultural revolution was important for Nigeria to work, else they would've opposed the conditions for independence in the first place. In fact they agreed to the division of Nigeria into three regions with different language and 3 major identities and built 3 political parties along the 3 tribal lines. What were they expecting, happy ever after! They even joined in rigging of the first Nigerian election. Founding fathers indeed. Nigeria was failed from the very start. This is what caused the civil war. Ironsi not jailing the coup plotters - The other group saw it as an attack on their own group, because the military leader didn't jail the coup plotters from his own group (tribe). Massacre of igbos in the North - Because Northerners saw them as different. Gowon giving more power to the federal government and failing to stop the slaughter. Ojukwu's jealousy for not being installed as the military general. Nigerian military role in the civil war - This is were the military got it's present bad reputation from. All because one group feel superior to another group and one group feel threatened by another group. It's identity politics. Religious leaders encouraging people to bear the hardship, because they have sky mansions when they die. Mostly in the south, when thing go wrong, people just act as if it's not their business (And some people are shouting for united southern Nigeria Republic). Religion especially Christianity encourages greed and fear indirectly, but gives their members hope of a better tomorrow. You can't separate religion and politics. Political leaders oppress us and religious leaders encourages us to bear the oppression. They're doing the same thing differently - Keeping the system running. The youth should know that they have no role model from the previous generations. Democracy is good when majority of the citizens are well educated, informed and can think for themselves. African societies don't have these qualities. We celebrate people that can shout very well. People that think logically and behave civilized are classified as weak, people that jump queue and cut corners are classified as smart. We only complain when we're at a disadvantage, and that's only what we do "Complain" . People that speak dictionary grammars are hailed in universities. Our educational system is built in a way that people who can cram very well and answer past questions, have A's and are called scholars. People are not dedicated to their work, maybe because they're encouraged from a young age to pursue the money rather than the field they're interested in. This is why we have queues in ATM stands, poor security, poor electricity, poor maintenance culture, bad roads and massive corruption. The few people that have evolved or want to be enlightened should form a group or an organisation (especially targeting very young people). They should start lecturing others on history, logic, discipline, how to be civilized, problem solving, personal independence (Don't accept free things, work for you own money), self respect, self dignity, respect for rights of other people (Stop playing loud music, don't disturb your neighbours, bad languages, lying and insults should be shunned from a young age, humility encouraged) maybe through social media or physical programs. The goal is to get as much people civilized as possible. Then a political and cultural revolution can kick off (Can also be done by winning the election and starting the actual revolution). The thing is that most post independence leaders that had good intentions, were killed and their ideology dead because they didn't have strong backing or they wanted to be seen as heroes. This time there has to be strong backing (Something like an Epistocracy), people that can carry on an ideology regardless of whether their leader is gone and can't be influenced by mere emotional manipulation. Many people will die, political, religious and tribal leaders that feel their power is threatened will do everything possible to stop it. These are the sacrifices we have to make for greatness. 1 Like |

OChimex:South African government is at fault here. I don't know if they're forming democracy or the government is just plain weak, but even US government won't allow this. In US and most developed countries during protests, there are always riot police available, with tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets. That BLM riot was plain politics, if they were really serious they would've stopped it on the first day. Nigerian government would've followed the undemocratic method by using soldiers with live bullets. The thing is whites see themselves as one, since they've a shared culture, religion, same dressing, though different languages but they chose English as their shared language. Blacks don't see themselves as one. We're suffering from identity crisis - No shared language, religion, dressing, culture, etc, and since our culture is still Primitive and we don't want to develop it, we're copying white culture. This leads to many things - Inferiority complex, internalized racism, identity politics. We attribute certain characteristics to certain Tribal or religious groups because of stereotypes and hate. The goal of a civilized nation is to have a shared identity and for citizens to judge themselves based on their individual identity and not based on group identity. In Nigeria we're proud of 400 tribes and languages, Afrcans are proud of 2000 tribes and languages. We're not ready for development yet. People in a particular ethnic group see themselves as indigenes and others as foreigners and demand specific privileges regardless of if everyone in that community are citizens of the country. If someone in that ethnic group commit a crime, the person is bad. If someone of another ethnic group commit a crime, then that's how the entire ethnic group behave, they're Igbos - Robbers, drug dealers, Yorubas - betrayer, thugs, etc, Northerners - Terrorists, kidnappers. Those uncivilised people that started the riot thought the former president was arrested because he's zulu, so zulus are under threat. The only solution is for us to completely abandon our tribal and religious identity and pickup a common one - I mean a Cultural Revolution. The sooner it happens the better for the black race. 1 Like 1 Share |

OChimex:A poor population with very high unemployment rate and strong resentment for the government, that's a bubble already. All it takes is for a small group of thieves to start the looting and then it will generate into mass looting and destruction. It's called mob mentality and can happen anywhere in the world. 1 Like |

Volkswagen90:Our ancestors didn't chase anybody away. UK granted us fake independence. No country will grant it's colony independence, you have to fight for it. That's why UK still controls Nigerian government indirectly, same everywhere in Africa. Africa's problem is cultural. Every informed person knows that a nation can only flourish if it has a major common identity. As long as there are multiple identities, politicians will always look for a way to exploit it for their selfish gain. Nigeria is weak because we have 400 tribes with 3 majority tribes, 2 major religions. That is nothing to be proud of. Almost all prosperous nations have 1 major ethnic group and 1 major religion. This minimises identity politics. Politicians will always look for a way to manipulate the system. Our problem is not our leaders, because all governments are the same. Exchange Nigerian leaders with US leaders and vice versa, US will still remain the same, but Nigeria won't change because we have a docile, uninformed population, where most people care only about their personal interest. I don't think breaking Nigeria will solve anything, or do you want to break it into 400 nations. Even inside a tribe, people still hate one another. Most races have gone through all these before. Europe had hundreds /thousands of tribes before they started merging to form States. It's just that Africans haven't evolved or aren't planning to evolve anytime soon. Only a cultural revolution can solve our problems (If handled by the right people). Well I don't see that happening anytime soon, but the sooner it happens the better for the black race. 5 Likes |

OChimex:Remember that you're black too. If you call blacks fools, then you're also referring to yourself as a fool. Most Nigerians condemn other people apart from themselves, and they feel they know more than others and are quick to condemn other people, but they know almost nothing. Only idiots behave this way, that's why Nigeria is one of the biggest idiocracy in the world. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Zooposki:You want the little number of sane people to live with the crazy, corrupt, tribalistic, hyper religious majority. Nigeria is a democracy, which means majority rule. Majority of Nigerians are not normal. The normal people want to leave because they're not recognised and can't function in a toxic environment. 32 Likes 4 Shares |

TWoods:I tell people that if Nigeria and US exchange leaders, US won't change. The fact that they're ruling US would cause their head to reset and start acting properly or resign. Whereas the US leaders in Nigeria will continue the corruption and oppression of Nigerians Nigerians are docile and weak people. Nobody respects or fear a weak person. If someone is oppressed he/she wants everyone to help him, but if another person is oppressed he'll turn a blind eye and mind his business. If someone is brave enough to stand up for the oppressed, the same oppressed people will act as if it doesn't concern them and laugh at him if he doesn't succeed. People only care about themselves and what they'll gain. If the government does something bad or a politician steals money meant for the people, then you'll hear people saying that God will punish him. If you have a politician friend or connection that helps you with a favour, then God has sent a helper to bless you. Our leaders take advantage of this attitude and push us to the extreme knowing fully well that we're too greedy and divided to even think of acting. Nigerians aren't fed up with the government. If they're fed up you'll know 1 Like

odaniel1:If twitter allowed people to post what they like without getting banned, then no problem. If they delete tweet they find offensive on the platform or ban people instigating violence without bias, then no problem. But these companies are biased. People have posted worse than Buhari, they didn't ban them. Even at their early stage, Facebook and twitter where looking for more users so they allowed equal right for all. They didn't remove any post that wasn't ponographic or irritating. Now that they're big companies with billions of users, they can select who to and who not to ban. At this point they are no longer a free media platform, but a publisher and will be treated like a news media, instead of a free social media platform. Social media platforms aren't meant to play any role in politics. If they ban far right contents, they should also ban far left contents. If they ban only one group because it violates their policy, then there're playing politics and therefore should be treated as a publisher and a foreign threat. |
