God's divine executive agent in the world today is the Holy Spirit. Religion / Re: Nigerian Baptist Convention by steveregs1: 7:08pm On Sep 18, 2015
Doctrine and denomination are not routes to God, only Jesus is. Let's stop talking Baptist and Pentecostal here and focus on the real thing which is what we were created here to do--worship God by living our lives to honour him.

By this, I'm saying I like those that say they are non-denominational, but please let's not go on to speak wrongly about other Churches as it's not in our place to do so. Scripture asks, "Who are you to judge another man's servant?" Don't provoke The Lord your God to anger by negatively talking about other Churches in which people go and meet with God.

Let's show example as Christians.

Remember, Jesus is "the Way", the Truth and the Life. Not a way, but The Way. This means there's no other way to God (not religion, not denomination, not doctrine) except through Him. It's been high time long ago that we stopped dividing ourselves along these lines (or any line at all) as Christians.

Let's give unbelievers one less reason to not be saved. Thank you, brothers and sisters.

Career / Amazing Job Vacancy At Phlash Blitz Systems Ltd. by steveregs1: 2:28pm On Sep 11, 2015
Phlash Blitz Systems Limited is a new start-up looking to hire marketers to market her products in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Now, we at Phlash Blitz Systems Limited recognize that there are some products that sell in the buying public no matter the state of the economy. Data and Internet is one of them.
Many marketing positions offer very little commission. Research has shown that even some Banks offer a 0.001% commission.

However, at Phlash Blitz Systems Limited, interested marketers will be retailing Data at a 18% commission.

Remember that it is usually very easy to sell data to the public. Now you won't just be marketing data, you'll be marketing data that is better than all competition at a price that is better than the competition. So, this means that for every 1,000 naira worth of data you sell, you'll get 180 naira for which you'll get paid what is due you at the end of each week. Now, imagine you sell to 50 people in one week, that's 180 naira by 50, which is 9,000 naira for that week; yet the Company sets no limit to how much you can sell in a week.

The success of the Company means your success.

Interested marketers should forward their CVs to phlash@riversyellowpages.com. Limited spaces available, so do it now.

Believe me, I have asked myself for so long what GEJ has done for the country (apart from, I must honestly admit, sports, which is not enough for a LG councillor in his tenure to do alone, how much more a President) and I have come up with ... nothing. You that feels he has done something for the country why don't you educate or remind us so we can discuss and give appraisal?
Politics / Re: Obasanjo's Letter to President Goodluck Jonathan by steveregs1: 11:40am On Dec 18, 2013
Thank you for this. Senator Iyabo tried to stop this, but her issues are merely family issues. No one is perfect. We all have skeletons in our closets, but we accept our weaknesses and use our strengths "for the greater good". We have examples of leaders who failed at family level, but led their nations to grander ascensions. Nelson Mandela was a divorcee, Bill Clinton was alleged to have had an affair with an intern in the White House, even King David in the Bible had extra-marital relations. My point here is it is unwise to expect perfection from anyone when we ourselves are not perfect. Even Jesus rightly said, "he who is without sin should cast the first stone."

No matter whatever anyone might say, these issues raised in this letter are real issues, and I applaud Fmr. President Obasanjo for it. Someone (or some persons) have to take bold steps to force desired change. Fmr. President Obasanjo has done his little. What are you (yes, you reading this text) doing to better Nigeria.
I see a Country where the citizens are willing to work hard, under the sun and in the rain, to get the change they claim to crave. I see a Country where the citizens on the streets realize that the leaders they have now were also common people like them; that the moral changes in our minds have to start from the commoner on the street before he gets into government; that jumping a fuel queue for convenience purposes is how the devil slowly steals our conscience and slowly but surely replaces it with his permanently numbed, or better still, dead one; where citizens know that stealing little sums in their humble little offices is breeding their consciences to steal confidently when they get government appointments; where the votes of the poorest person is acknowledged and counted, one man to his vote; where citizens will be the change they desire, in their hearts and minds and in dealing with others and their environment.

Politics / Re: Iyabo Obasanjo's Letter To Her Father by steveregs1: 9:29am On Dec 18, 2013
There are many possible reactions to this letter. I will state mine, and why the bulk of reactions given here are not helping.

The letter is a response to Fmr. President Obasanjo's open letter to the President. This letter in it's entirety may be true (I actually think it is true). This letter goes a long way to show the kind of family life Fmr. President Obasanjo had. I also, sorry to add, subscribe to her opinion that Nigerians are guilty of desiring change, but not willing to do what is required to achieve it; and, not letting -- actually crucifying people who work hard with skills they possess to change Nigeria on altars of maintaining status quo and keeping things the way they are, believing that one day they will be in government and have access to steal funds that they will never be called on to account for.

Having said this, I will come to the crux of the matter on ground, which happens to be the reason I took my time to write this: this letter does not, in any way, discredit the issues (and that's putting it mildly, for 'problem' is a better word in this case) Fmr. President Obasanjo raised in his own letter. I took my time to study both letters and I have been particularly careful to note that Fmr. President Obasanjo's letter contains issues that, as he rightly put it, will lead Nigeria right back to the Abacha era and what characterized it. Senator Iyabo's letter, however, appears to only say that President Obasanjo has no moral grounds based on his family matters on ground to compose such a letter. I will not take sides with anyone. I will only say that everybody has skeletons in his closet. If risking the exposure of your skeletons will bring about a greater good by telling the outright truth, not behind the person in question but to the person's face, then Fmr. President Obasanjo should be credited for his brave and daring efforts at writing this letter. Someone quoted J.K. Rowling in the comments. Please note that the same celebrity author also said, "it is honourable to stand up to your enemies, but of even greater honour it is to stand up to your friends." Senator Iyabo, being a doctor trained in the US should be knowledgeable enough to acknowledge that things are not right -- or even close -- in this country. I've learned to put family differences and assertions aside when dealing with political matters because we all are imperfect people. If someone is not great at keeping his/er family together or treating them as s/he ought but can provide good governance, "for the greater good" s/he should be allowed to rule. For instance, the late Nelson Mandela was a divorcee but is celebrated today as one of the greatest men the world has ever seen. Fmr. President Bill Clinton was an adulterer having been in an affair with an intern in the White House, but today he is acknowledged as a great President and leader of the United States in his time.

No one is perfect, let us give people their chances to work for the greater good. This is key.

This dispensation is said to be democratic. If this is so, let us, for our own good, decide if we are going to continue in this same path, or fight for the change we so desire. If egos will be sacrificed then so be it. We cannot just sit and fold our hands and watch the treasury be looted, or investors leave the country for lack of basic infrastructure to ease operations, or security policies continually being used when they obviously are not working anymore and persons in charge are apparently too feeble and indecisive to change them.

Being loyal does not mean when my integrity is called into question, or my relationship with God Almighty is about to be affected negatively by my loyalty, that I will continue to follow blindly, searing my conscience for whatever financial or sentimental gains I may have in the future. One governor starts the revolution against disservice and injustice against the people, financial looting, untamed corruption, indecisiveness and slow actions, and we all predict doom for him just because, as they say, "you cannot fight the Federal Government and get away with it." But, the very same people are hailing Nelson Mandela, William Wallace, Ken Saro-Wiwa, just to mention a few, for their acts of bravery in bringing the much-desired change thy fought for and paid for in no small measures, some even going as far as dying for their Country.

Let us know, that in all, and after this, comes the judgment. One day we will all stand before the righteous Judge and give account for our statements, actions and inactions (what we did and failed to do), thoughts, and how well we spent our time here on earth.

God bless Nigeria.

Like I've always said, "mediocrity and insensitivity in high places." If not for my working boss and governor I would have given up completely on Nigeria. Nigeria will see the worst of it when fuel subsidy is removed (as if we did not have enough poor, starving people already). Boko Haram is bombing because, as they say, the presidency was taken away from the north when it was their turn. I'm not sorry to say now, Jonathan's life is not worth even one of those lives that have been prematurely taken away to start with. He should just resign due to incompetence. Our press is not even trying otherwise they would have forced him to resign by now. I'm just tired of Nigeria. Gotta go look for my passport.

Kabassa, Jesus is not 'one' of the chief angels. He is not even an angel. However, I agree with the rest of your first writing. Also, to the originator of this thread, you do not try to understand the Bible with your human understanding. That is why you have to ask the Holy Spirit to guide you each time you read the Bible. Secondly, you should avoid listening to false doctrine and ask the Holy Spirit to guide your heart to know what is right and the spoken Word of God, so you do not get carried away by false doctrine as the Bible has warned. These are the last days. I won't decide for you. Just pray to the Holy Spirit and let Him guide your decisions. smiley

In cases where the client doesn't provide content, I either charge them for it and pay someone to do it, or typically, I provide the interface for them to do realtime updating, letting them know that content addition is entirely up to them, showing them how to. This way they know that if their site is empty, its their fault. I most of the time suggest that they employ someone to do the realtime updating for them
