@House, does anyone know for sure that the embassy and or alien office does not have access to one's motivation letter used in applying for admission?

The reason is because while applying, I went to do oversabi in my motivation letter by stating I would be quitting my job to learn German (even though its not required for my course). I eventually didn't quit my job nor learn German.
So I need to know if the embassy/alien office could have access to this information so I'll know what to say before I attend the interview.

Thanks.

oversabi= you dey lair abi?

There is a difference. We are acquiring an education and helping the economy by doing jobs that actually make a difference after our education in Germany. The little jobs that we do whilst studying are only to supplement our blocked acct or sponsorship, but in the case of Syrians most are only qualified for these little jobs.

@lmuhopeful you are Germany inbound and would be surprised the so call Syrians are highly qualified and on a second note, Do you think the german government would open it arms to receive none qualified refugees to mess up the system? NO!

Bundesregierung know wetin dem dey do, a little prediction, abeg make una fire all una application as soon as possible before a repetition of 2005/2007 no happen with re introduction of tuition fees to block incoming.

My 2 cents.

The last time I checked, REFUGEES are not allowed to work LEGALLY... Though the need to learn German is very valid....
Just an observation though..I could be wrong.

Eke, ogagaejay made a very important post, you would be surprised ,how fast those refugees are getting legal documentation right now in Germany and working legally.

He said it pure and blunt, learn German and improve your chances.

Danke!!

Yes ,you can get a visa to do studienkolleg, first find out, which uni or poly you would like to go in Germany, find the studienkolleg in that state and see their admission process.
This site should help : www.studienkollegs.de
Mine just moved to uni assit last semester.

The email from the embassy is not to difficult to answer provided your brother can answer all questions and with proofs.
I still believe the embassy staff is busy reading this thread and waiting.for your brother to give answers from other users here then he's on one chance.

Thanks for your response. Yes the language requirement is german at least B1. There's no English taught program.
I will like to apply though, I'm just wondering if learning german up to that level is difficult and if the application procedure is different from other Bsc.
I've been going through daad, had even emailed some schools but they mentioned a "studenkellog" then an exam. It's just complicated.

Thanks though.

@Kalimera
it's not complicated as you think, how about using Google to do a search on "studienkolleg" on a laptop or desktop computer, please avoid mobile phones as it might not give the full site details.
Studienkolleg is a pre-uni one year course to bridge our waec to meet up the German Abitur and it's in fully german and no teacher would teach you basic german grammar there,it's mainly to improve your German knowledge to C1 level ( writing and speaking).

@All incoming,I've seen multiple post here claiming daad.de isn't showing a certain search result or another thing, please biko use a desktop to do the search on the website and you'll see the difference.
Some would say, Shebi phone too fit browse na, please forget it,as a web admin myself, many sites are not fully optimized to show site fully on mobile.

Studienkolleg is a one year preparation for ur studies . That is, if u know zero German and u are going for a German course. It is usually a good thing. They teach German as well as other subjects related to ur course of study and then in the end of the year u will write an exam. After then u can start ur course. U may already have B1 in German by then which makes studying even easier.
Studienkolleg requires minimum B2 to get admission to even write the entrance exam and its not a school for zero german at all as am currently doing it.

Why not search for a German tandem partner in Lagos/Nigeria, dont be surprise German expatriates are also willing to learn our local languages eg Pidgin English.

I don't know if 4 weeks is enough time to get the blocked account and the visa considering I haven't received the official admission letter...just a confirmation email

@Olachi send them a mail requesting the letter of studienkolleg to be sent as e-mail,there's also a studienkolleg accepting c1 German level to start without taking the entrance exam.

Please I really want the house to help mare. I have been able to peruse the thread and the information I found was really helpful.

I am that individual that is not afraid to take the next step and most importantly to be HAPPY.

To cut the goose chase...

I got to the university so early (age 16) and I know family and the environment influenced my course of study selection (Petroleum engr). Made a 2.1 grade and after my NYSC, went to the states for MSc in the same field. But the shock of the whole thing is that I realized I so love the psychology field and I know I will be so fulfilled if I find my self in this field. So that's why I am planning on taking this huge step of going after my heart.

Please note that psychology does not pay so well and that's just to buttress my point that it is for the passion and not just a source of income. I did 1 year internship with an oil multinternational company before leaving for Msc and yes I can affirm they spoil you..

From schools in germany researched so far, it is advisable I kick start with a Bsc. And honestly, I prefer that starting point and I also intend to get Msc and PhD because psychology is very research intensive. Cumulatively, the years to be spent is 8 years. I know other aspect of life like starting a family will fall in place with time and also a potential means of sustenance that will not distract me from studies is being planned.

I have this questions to ask:

*Is it a red flag if the interviewer or even prospective school know I already have an Msc in the states. (Honestly, I want to hide this point)
*Is there going to be a suspicion as relating my first degree to my proposed first degree?
*Should I be honest, as to following my heart.
*Can I use my first degree to apply for this Bsc. My first school leaving cert are not impressive that well

Addition:

I intend to have the C level for german language to help my chances (starting A1 next month). I am focusing on next year or 2 years time (don't know yet),but I know I have to do it if I don't want to regret not doing it later.

Note: I don't wish anyone to be in my shoes. Despite doing well in the oil field, I have never said to myself that I feel fulfilled. Yes, there's good potential for great lifestyle but this passion (psychology, a little of philosophy) always beckon on me since far back as 2008. I have even taken the bold step of not letting any friends or family members know until everything is cooked up and ready to be served.

Please help with my questions and also render suggestion. Thank you all.

I'll repeat again and again, Are going for BSC or MSC in englisch, learn german up to B2 and welcome yourself to paradise.

IMHO, Some comments on this thread is purely based on someone reading alot online and dumping "#crap" here angry

Thanks 4 d links. bros u knw that as many of this private residences are located in central hamburg, commuting from there to harburg is what makes it take so long. And do you advise i waste 2 to 3 hours everyday going to and fro school?
Secondly, i dnt knw why but a look at wg website shows all rooms(flatshares) as fully booked. Since the session round offs in august/september, do u from experience think that spaces would come up in this places if i check around that time?
Thirdly, I would be very grateful if u can link me up to that ur friend in harburg

Private residence for central Hamburg or wg flatshare should be your last resort as these are freaking expensive, my experience, some rooms are 250 without light, water or internet.
Apply to Studentenwerk for hostel and you might surly get one but i can't tell you when you'll get it.

If you don't get any reply soon ask them for short stay room, the price is a little bit higher maybe plus 50 or 60 Euros but it's guaranteed from the Studentenwerk and when you get this don't cancel your application for the hostels and students usually get a room after their short stay contract expires (within a semester).

Don't forget to apply to all those private student hostels, don't keep all hopes on Studentenwerk.

Please to all coming to Germany within the start of Winter try and secure an accomodation cos as the say in Games of Throne, "Winter is coming"

ok, thank you. I've checked out so many options on that their website anyway including student rooms run by other landlords. I haven't really looked at that private room options; and in most cases there are no free rooms or the houses are too far away from my school (in Harburg, southern Hamburg). On average I get a 1hr to 1hr 30min commute time via public transport on HVV website.
Phew, time to dig deeper and bring out the researcher in me cos I no fit sleep under bridge.

Moin! You would hear this alot in Hamburg as the usual guten Tag

On the student union website, check for other private hostel, 1.30minutes is not to bad but e be like say na neighboringcity be that cos anything after 1hr with train from hamburg central station na another state be that cos Hamburg no to big.

On a side note, i like Harburg, my friend dey there. grin
