Ifako Ijaiye Constituency l 2019: Affirmation Of What Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji (JAH) Is Bringing On Board Of all the names so far headlined, especially in the media, as people seeking to represent Ifako Ijaiye State Constituency 01 come 2019, Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji manifestly stands out in several aspects, he command respect, honour and dignity. Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji isn't just a social media aspirant but a grassroots politician that believes in totality wellbeing of his people. There is no gain stating the fact that his formal entry into the state assembly race has brought some semblance of modernity, urbane ness and decorum into what used to be a rather riotous and discouraging exercise. This is what happens when men and women of pristine character and moral decency decide to venture into partisan politics. We are gradually bidding farewell to that era where touts, sleazy characters and people of questionable integrity and pedigree are accepted and elected into sensitive leadership positions. Ideally, the best and brightest among us who have proven themselves in their chosen endeavours should occupy leadership positions, not the other way round. It is an aberration for barely lettered and incompetent people to aspire for leadership positions in a society where we have countless capable and prepared hands. Time was when the brightest among us took the back seats on issues pertaining to governance. The fad across most modern day societies is simply to allow people with the required mental and intellectual power to lead them. The more lettered and competent a leader is, the higher his chances of providing solutions to problems confronting his people. The difference between the advanced society and the 3rd world nations is simply in the calibre and quality of people they choose or elect as leaders. Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji without doubt symbolises and embodies the true change that Ifako Ijaiye Constituency l is in dire need of. It bears repeating that, this gentleman has the required character traits to turn things around through what he calls “innovative parliamentary representation” if given the opportunity to represent the good people of our state constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly. In a speech while formally declaring his intention to aspire for the House of Assembly seat under the ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Adewale expressed his resolve to bring a breath of fresh air and openness in his engagements with his constituents. In place of manifesto, he promised he would sign a social contract with the people. He said, “I shall travel on a road less travelled by politicians in this clime; which is to sign a Social Contract with you instead of presenting an unrealistic manifesto. I am particularly interested in guiding and leading you to achieve your desired goals and not to reel out empty promises. What I owe you is to meet your needs to the best of my ability and to constantly tell you the truth, even if it hurts. This is what Social Contract entails”. Given his enviable academic credentials and good understanding of what contemporary existential issues are, he is without doubt eminently qualified and has the right skills and experience to enthrone a regime of innovative parliamentary representation. Undoubtedly, with a Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji in the saddle, it would be a season of harvest of dividends of democracy for Ifako Ijaiye constituency l. He clearly knows what the issues are. He equally has what it takes to find enduring solutions to the problems. Leadership entails identifying challenges and putting in place mechanisms for resolving them. “We shall in service to our constituents deploy creative energies, search for opportunities and leverage on profitable connections to attract meaningful development to our constituency”. Hon Adewale is sure to bring civility, integrity, competence and moral decency to bear if given the opportunity come 2019.

COMMUNIQUE RELEASED FOR THE AGITATION OF ROTATION OF THE KOGI WEST SENATORIAL REPRESENTATIVE TO YAGBA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY BY YAGBA FOR SENATE 2019 INITIATIVES Yagba Federal Constituency is one of the 3 Federal Constituencies in Kogi West Senatorial District, comprising of three (3) local Governments, namely Yagba West, Yagba East and Mopamuro Local Government Areas. In consonance for the agitation for justice, equity and fairness in the 2019 Senatorial election in Kogi West, we have come together as a group of progressive constituents of Kogi West Senatorial District to release this communiqué to protect the spirit of oneness in the district. Hence, we want to state it clearly that this agitation is to promote the existing peace and to stand as a panacea to political downtroddenness in our progressive constituency. Historically, Kogi West constituents were known for their political equity and fairness which has earned them high respect and given them a high sense of dominion in the political arena both in the state and the country at large. In retrospect, going down the political ladder in the Senatorial District since the return of democracy in 1999, the senatorial district has had 3 elected senators. Senator Jonathan Tunde ogbeha from Lokoja/Kotonkarfe Federal Constituency who had the first shot (1999-2007) followed by Senator Smart Adeyemi from Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency (2007- 2015) and Senator Dino Melaye (2015- till date) also from Kabba//Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency. Looking at the democratic analysis above, it is clearly shown that no Yagba indigene have been elected as the senator since the return of democracy. Hence, it will be inconceivable that other constituencies apart from Yagba Federal Constituency will want to produce the next Senator come 2019. Admittedly, there is nowhere in the constitution of the country where zoning is enshrined, yet equity and fair play have always prevailed in the internal electoral process in producing senates in the times past. However, having complied with the “gentleman” agreement and cooperating with other Federal Constituencies to represent the district at the upper chamber. It will only be fair, equitable and legitimate for the Yagba Federal Constituency to be allowed to have their turn at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly without compromising on credibility and electability of whoever emerges as a candidate. OUR ENTREATY We the constituents hereby plea to the entire Kogi West Senatorial constituents, all traditional rulers, all party loyalist, all democrats, all stakeholders to allow Yagba Federal constituency to represent the district in the forthcoming Senatorial election in the spirit of equity, oneness, togetherness, fairness, justice , impartiality and brotherhood. We are equally appealing to all political families, notable politicians and potential candidates from other Federal Constituencies (Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu and Lokoja/Kotonkarfe Federal Constituency) who may be willing to contest or field a candidate to contest to please honour, respect and cherish the rotational principle as this will go a long way to curb any form of disunity in the district and provide a fertile ground for development and growth of the constituency. Conclusively, Kogi West is a big family, because we are brothers and sisters, hence we will end this communiqué by quoting the word of Sunday Adelaja “Each and every one of us are created to carry out justice, judgment, truth and equity on earth, it could be in different spheres of life, in various professions or in diverse gravity, but the mandate is clear, his nature must be reflected on earth. If he is God of justice, people must see justice on earth, if he is God of sound judgement, that sound mind must be revealed in people who identify themselves with him, on daily basis. If he is God of truth, that truth must reign supreme on earth, even as he reigns over the universe. if fairness, impartiality and equity are his essence , that should become dominant in the society”. Sir/Ma, we hope this communiqué will be given all form of seriousness and attention, it deserves as we look forward to a more united, progressive, impartial and equitable constituency. GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!! Signed: Comr. Omosona T. Olakunle Convener 08061660011 Comr. Makanjuola Dahunsi Fatai Co – convener 08108433862

Wishing You A Successful Leadership Journey!!!! Kogi State Speaker Hon Matthew Kolawole By Kamaldeen Toyin It's pertinent to say hay when the sun shines, meanwhile, the sun is scorchingly shining that keeping mute will depict meanings that beyond the scope of comprehension of the students of public opinions. A recent legislative time in Kogi State has been political turmoil and chess game. Eventually, the cost became clear and Hon Matthew Kolawole emerges the new bride in the Kogi State House of Parliament. “ Great leaders always seem to embody two seemingly disparate qualities. They are both highly visionary and highly practical." “ If you can't influence people, then they will not follow you. And if people do not follow, you are not a leader." That's the Law of Influence. “ To lead yourself, use your head; to lead others, use your heart." “ Anyone can steer the ship, but it takes a leader to chart the course. Leaders who are good navigators are capable of taking their people just about anywhere." The gavel was in the hand of someone yesterday, today it's another hitter handles it. Hon Matthew, it's being your turn, wisdom, 100% loyalty to those whom God Has used to give life for this golden idea should be paramount to you. An adage says "A River that forgets its source will definitely dried up in a shortest while" leadership is bestowed by God, no matter the form it may appear. You are crowned today as the Speaker, be grateful to God and to the Architects of your emergence. So help you God. Accept my sincere wishes. Congratulations!!!

Something is dawning on us—it’s almost too soon for us to admit, but it’s there, a half-considered thought only now blooming in our brains. Maybe we dismiss it with one of u those quick cognitive fly swats. Nah, too early to say or I hate that guy. But the truth is coming, and it sounds like this: Gov. Bello will be inducted into the league of Great Governors. Wait a moment. One of the Greatest? you ask? your thumb emoticon poised to turn up or down on me. The guy haters love to hate with their very best hate game? Like 20-million Wada great? Like Mount patti great? Yep. (We just won’t build Mount Patti anymore.) In so many ways, Gov Bello was better than we imagined, better than the body politics deserved, and far, far better than his enemies will ever concede, but the great thing about being great is that, the verdict of enemies doesn’t matter. In fact, and I say this as a Audu’s fan, I now feel certain that, in the coming decades, Gov Bello’s star will rise higher than any Governor in Kogi State and he’ll replace Wada in the public minds as the Greatest Democrat since 2016. This has a lot to do with the nature of Bello’s leadership style, which is to play to legacy (and Audu’s impulse, which is to play to the room). Audu will long be revered because, he’s charismatic presided over an economic revival, change and elevated the view of the Democratic Party. Yahaya Bello will long be revered because he’s charismatically presided over an economic revival, changed and elevated the view of Kogi State government among the comities of States. He’s simply bigger than Wada in spheres of comparison. More to the point, Bello’s legacy is the sort that gets canonized, because the first rule of Hall of Fame-dom: The times have to suck for the Governor not to civil wars, depressions and recessions. You got to have ’em if you wanna be great. To unify where and however we can. In this way, too, Bello pointed the way forward. But it’s also why we downgraded Wada. Were he is bad in real time as we remembered him in history? Probably not, but he is dealt sucky hands, only played one round, and left the State feeling worse off. Legacy Game over. beyond specific hurrah moments like Bello cares, rescuing the economy, and making Kogi way more bi-curious. Being the first none Igala and Ebira Governor of course secures a certain legacy. But what now feels distinctly possible is that, just as Martin Luther King Jr. dreamt, over time he may be judged less for the color of his skin than for the content of his message. He is the Leader not only of our state but of our mood and disposition, which is harder to rule. At a time when we became more polarized, our discourse pettier and more poisoned, Bello always come across as the Adult in the Room, the one we wanted to be and follow. #God#bless#GYB -Comrade Asubiojo Success.
