dlollyboi: That's what i hope to achieve. Finding possibilities where there seems to be none. I was hoping someone on here who works with Carlcare will slip me a software for the upgrade but since i've not gotten that yet, my search is still ongoing at the background. Being boxed by companies and others has never been my style. I believe every consumer must be allowed the chance to do more with whatever devices they buy with their hard earned money to get value for it and nothing else. |

dlollyboi: An Android TV is an android box with a screen attached to it. When you see it that way, that's when you'll know whether you're fully utilizing it or underutilizing it. You shouldn't always be quick to remove money from your pocket to buy new gadget till you know you've explored every possible loophole with your device and that there's no way to proverbially "Open it up" to new possibilities first before you buy a new TV or a new box. That's how we did it back in the day. |

@Odilibe and other Electronics Savvy Satmates i greet you all. I am currently working on a project to convert an srt4910 HD decoder into a dvb-t and dvb-t2 compatible receiver but I'm at a jam at the moment. I cannot seem to find the datasheet or specification documents for the LG TDFB-G151D NIM tuner on that motherboard anywhere online. Assistance is really needed here as this will help me understand the circuitry better to proceed with the experiment. Thanks. |

A warm greeting to all on this forum. My best regards to all the originators still holding the forum down and the newbies who are hungry to learn and are innovative enough to shed some light on some of the things we should be looking at in our quest for true FTA and a liberated satellite TV scene. Thank you all. My post is simple, i'm here to ask everyone to look beyond the technological curve and ask ourselves, What's next? What is next in the satellite TV evolution and what will be the new age of satellite TV? If we are able to answer this question, then and only then we would know where, when and how to invest of money in order to get the best out of it all. What is next? That is the question i ask you all today. Let's discuss and see where we are all going from here. Thank you! 1 Like |

hbhatti: @hbhatti, Your guess is as good as mine. The receiver will not boot if there is a slight imbalance in the power being supplied to the mother board. Remove the connector for the power supply from the main board and test the output of the connecter using the ground as the reference and the corresponding dc output values on the main motherboard as a guide. there are times that you might not see physical indications of damage of components by just looking at them. You need to test them first. When you are done make sure you replace all the connectors to the motherboard. Each one has a very funny way of behaving when not placed well back into their sockets. Remember, if you find it difficult working on your srt 4910HD, just send it to the technicians to work on it for you. Hope you start enjoying it again soon. |

hbhatti: @hbhatti *What were the events that lead up to the receiver not working and the lights blinking? *Was there/Do you have any power issues? Generator or mains around the time issue happened. *Has the receiver been opened prior to it not working? If yes, what was done? *Was there any software updates uploaded onto the receiver a day or two prior to it not working? Answer these questions and i'd get back to you with a possible solution to your problem. BR Swordswifter |

obnelly: @Obnelly, I don't even know what kind of suites run their business models for them. Why milk a few whiles you can make it affordable and accessible for everyone whiles at the same time making your profit. I know guys from dstv will be reading this but we don't care. Personally i won't even subscribe for anything from them since they have cheated and milked Africans for far too long. If someone or a company is going to take advantage of this idea, i will only support it if it's by an African for Africa. Since 1998 or something till now they(DSTV) are still milking Africans. Why? |

@Obnelly The days of the SABC(s) and the true eTV for South Africa were the days. They were just 3 channels but you never needed anything else cause you were always entertained. My question these broadcasters is, why are all the best TV stations in Africa not coming together so they can broadcast over the continent? All people would have had to do is pay their yearly TV licenses so that each country keeps the revenue they obtain from their citizenry? Some people are not smart at all. JUST IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES IF THIS WAS TO HAPPEN. |

Hello Everyone, Another reply has been received from Arabsat. I will use the opportunity to forward D.lee and Lungsat's suggestion for the mean time. Still, i believe Arabsat is just the signal carrier. For things to happen at a faster pace, the MBC group must actually start showing some signs of commitment. If anyone receives a message from them to this regard, kindly let the house know and thank each and everyone for supporting this cause. We are the only people that can change the face of FTA in Africa. Enjoy your day! NB: Will post the links to reach these companies within the hour. Thanks 1 Like |

Hello Everyone, Our campaign has really gain grounds. 5 hrs ago we received a message from Arabsat indicating that our request to get the MBC SD free-to-air channels in Sub-Saharan Africa has been acknowledged at that they will be looking into it. This is the best news we've heard so far and we are glad to say you guys are all part of the people that really made this happen. Now Arabsat has heard our request, it's time we made the people of The MBC group hear our request. I still ask everyone to Send them emails, forward to them SMSs, tweet them or even post on their facebook walls. If they will encrypt their HD channels, let's all push so that the SD channels will be free for us. It can only happen when we all work together and speak with one voice. Let's all work at this and keep our fingers crossed for an exciting tomorrow. (y) |

obnelly: @ Obnelly My very sentiments my brother. What really baffles me is that their reports claim they've been watching it for about a year now. That i'm finding it very difficult to sink in as i've been on that bird this year, last year and the year before searching for the same thing but to no avail. What i got some time back was FOX Middle East until that bird was replaced with Atlantic Bird 7. That is the main reason i don't just want to jump on the claims without being fully convinced about their reports. I also did some checks yesterday. This is what i came out with. Flysat indicates the channels are from SamaCom with regards to the frequency that was provided and lyngsat also indicates it's from Du. petfun4u: Both websites are claiming it's on Nilesat 102 middle east beam. Previous footprint diagrams and what we have now have all not changed and i remember those times, even those with 3m pans were having difficulty pickings some transponders on Nilesat 201 and Nilesat 102. But if now situations on the ground has changed from what we already know and that the signals have really been increased to be available on 1m dishes(whether pan or mesh), we want someone to really confirm this and let us know. If the info is accurate to the letter, the channels should be dancing on my screens by close of Tuesday. |

Adex70: @ swordwifter i am in lagos and i am receiving the said bird on 90cm allthou they were all scramble without thecnosat hd dicoder you can not view them they are all hd hope this help, i have wrote them with the link you provide then to bring more of their package to us in west africa hope they will do that. @ Adex Long time. Hope you are good?! Anyway, we've have later correspondence and from what he is saying, he is not referring to the Scrambled MBC HD channels you'll need technosat decoders to unscramble. From what he is saying there is a free to air on that is available on 1m dishes for the countries i mentioned above. Those are the ones i want better clarification on. Whether they are channels that have been moved to the maghreb beam or the transmit power of the MENA beam has now been increased. You are aware the time we have spent in the past trying to get these channels but from their information, they've been watching it for about a year now. That is what i really want to understand. There is a 3m mesh lying outside i'm not even using now but it's the time i don't have. So not to go out again searching to an end without knowing if it's actually receivable or not, i want a clearer picture so i know what to look out for when i decide to go out there to track. |
