Health / Heart Attack Symptoms by Taphealth247(m): 7:51am On May 19, 2017
The symptoms of a heart attack are not the same for everyone. Sometimes heart attacks are sudden and excruciating, but often, they start out slow with mild discomfort. According to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, one study found that one-third of people who had a heart attack had no chest pain. These people were likely to be older, female, or diabetic. https://taphealth24.com/2017/05/19/heart-attack-symptoms/
Health / Top 12 Foods To Increase Sperm Count by Taphealth247(m): 7:30pm On May 15, 2017
Low sperm count affects approximately one in 25 men. Lifestyle factors such as stress, obesity, and poor nutrition can impact sperm health. If you and your partner are planning for a baby, a nutritional overhaul is a good place to start, to support healthy sperm production and development. Boost your baby-making chances with these five foods which have a positive effect on boosting sperm count.

Here are five foods recommended to boost sperm production and prepare for the task of creating a baby.

1. Garlic
So long as its powerful scent doesn’t dissuade you or your partner from doing the baby-making deed, garlic is an excellent choice for encouraging sperm production. Considered something of a sexual superfood, garlic contains selenium, an antioxidant necessary for sperm motility; and allicin, a compound that protects the male swimmers from damage and improves circulation to the sexual organs....continue reading>>>https://taphealth24.com/2017/05/15/top-12-foods-to-increase-sperm-count-2/
Health / Things That Only Happen When You’re Ovulating by Taphealth247(m): 7:30am On May 10, 2017
Most of us are somewhat familiar with what happens in our bodies when we ovulate. Ovulation is the time in your cycle when you could become pregnant. However, there’s a lot going on during that short window, and some of the body processes are surprising. “Some women are aware of these changes but overall, most women are unaware of what actually happens to their body during this time,” Dr. Deirdre Bentley at Jean Hailes for Women’s Health told The Huffington Post Australia. From changes in your taste in men to the way you vote, here are 11 things that happen during ovulation.
What is ovulation?

Ovulation usually happens about halfway through your menstrual cycle, and it lasts only 12 to 24 hours. We’re each born with about 400,000 eggs per ovary, and that number drops as we age. When you ovulate, your body releases a mature egg into the fallopian tube. It is then ready to be fertilized by your partner’s sperm.

Most women ovulate every month. As we age and our eggs decrease, the chances of becoming pregnant get a little trickier. As a woman in her 30s, it’s super depressing to hear that by the time we turn 37, our egg number has dropped from our original 800,000 to a respectable 25,000. However, if you’re trying to conceive right now, remember: it just takes one! continue reading>>>>https://taphealth24.com/2017/05/08/things-that-only-happen-when-youre-ovulating/
Health / Things About Sexual Health Everyone Need To Know by Taphealth247(m): 7:38am On May 09, 2017
Sexuality is part of being human. Love, affection and intimacy all play a role in healthy relationships from childhood through old age. You often hear about the importance of physical health, mental health and spiritual health, but feeling confident about your sexual health also is very important. Achieving sexual health allows for:

Healthy relationships
Planned pregnancies
Disease prevention
That’s why it’s essential to be well-informed about all aspects of sexual health and what it takes to have a fulfilling sex life. Similarly, it’s important to be aware of factors that can complicate your sexual health. Don’t let embarrassment keep you from bringing up concerns or asking questions of your doctor or other health care providers.

STD prevention

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), or sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are infections generally acquired by sexual contact. You can get an STI by having unprotected sex with a partner who’s infected. But, you can’t always tell if someone is infected, because many STIs cause no symptoms. In fact, many people have an STI without knowing it.

std-prevention

That’s why you have to be vigilant about STI prevention. If you’re sexually active, it is important to have only one partner, and to talk about your plans to remain exclusive with each other. Barrier methods of birth control, such as condoms, help reduce your risk of getting most STIs... continue reading >>>>https://taphealth24.com/2017/05/08/things-about-sexual-health-everyone-need-to-know/
Health / 7 Things Women Secretly Do But Would Never Admit To by Taphealth247(m): 7:29am On May 09, 2017
Ladies, we can almost all agree…there are habits we all deem embarrassing, but in reality, they’re actually very common. These are things we can get away with in the privacy of our own homes, cars, and offices, but also in the biggest crowds of people — if we’re sneaky. We are all human and we’ve gotta get by somehow. So, now that cats out of the bag, girls. But it’s okay. I get it, and I’m assuming the rest of us get it, too.

I’ve found there are some habits that occur more often among women, after speaking with a few brave ladies. Guaranteeing these women would remain anonymous, they listed off some of their tendencies at rapid fire, while others smiled and nodded in a blushing agreement. Check out what they said and why these habits can be looked at as common secrets.... continue reading >>>https://taphealth24.com/2017/05/08/7-things-women-secretly-do-but-would-never-admit-to/

Thanks for throwing more light on the topic
MZLady39:
That's true....however the one thing that kinda messes it up a little is all the added sugar that is put into the store bought juices.
That's done because cranberries are extremely tart.
If you actually drink 100% cranberry juice (with no sugar) that's not been processed, then you can really receive all of those benefits fully.
But drinking the juice is better than not drinking it.

Too many researchers these days.
Health / What Happens To Your Body When You Drink Wine Every Night by Taphealth247(m): 4:56pm On May 05, 2017
We all have that friend who is obsessed with wine — the one who can actually taste notes of blackberry and oat while we’re proud of ourselves for recognizing that it’s a cabernet. Well, it turns out your wine snob friend may be on to something. Wine has long been thought to be beneficial for our health, so long as it’s consumed in moderation. Usually red wine gets all the attention, but a study in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that white wine may have the same health benefits.

Dating back to 6,000 BC, humans have always loved their wine. Back then it was reserved for aristocrats and clergy, but these days anyone can enjoy a nice glass of two buck chuck. Ancient Egyptians used wine as medicine, and they may have been way ahead of their time. Red wine may actually protect against heart disease. Scientists believe the antioxidants found in red wine help prevent cholesterol buildup in our arteries. It’s this cholesterol buildup that can lead to heart disease. However, don’t expect a prescription for cabernet any time soon. Doctors are not ready to actually recommend alcohol, especially if alcoholism runs in your family.

But if you usually enjoy a glass of wine after winding down from a long day, get ready for some serious health benefits. Everything from dementia to sunburn can be prevented with your nightly glass. Read on for some of the craziest reasons to pop that cork tonight.
You will have better sex experience

A new study found that women who drink one or two glasses of wine a day have better sex than those who don’t drink at all. Researchers from the University of Florence, Italy, surveyed 800 women between the ages of 18 and 50 on their sexual satisfaction, using the Female Sexual Function Index, according to the Daily Mail. The index is used by doctors to assess women’s sexual health, based on factors including arousal, org4sm, satisfaction and pain.

Women who drank two glasses of wine a day scored an average of 27.3 points out of a possible 36 on the satisfaction scale, while those who stopped at one glass scored a 25.9 average. Non-drinkers averaged a 24.4.

“Historically, the aspects of wine and sexuality have been well known since the time of Ancient Greece,” the study’s lead author, Dr. Nicola Mondaini, told the Daily Mail. Female sexual dysfunction, on the other hand, is still “highly unexplored,” she said. continue reading>>>https://taphealth24.com/2017/05/05/what-happens-to-your-body-when-you-drink-wine-every-night/
Health / The 5 Deadliest Diseases For Women (that Aren’t Heart Disease Or Cancer) by Taphealth247(m): 7:06pm On May 04, 2017
For middle-aged women, cancer and heart disease take the top spots on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s list of most-common causes of death. Depending on a woman’s age, those two diseases account for roughly 30 percent to 55 percent of all deaths, shows the data.

So yeah, you’re right to worry about them. Still, there are other common killers on the CDC’s list that claim hundreds of thousands of lives each year, but they may not be on your radar. Here they are, plus their risk factors and what you can do to protect yourself.

1.Chronic Liver Disease

healthy-and-cirrhosis-liver

Your liver is responsible for a handful of vital biological functions, from flushing your system of waste and toxins to helping your body absorb vitamins, nutrients, and energy from the foods you eat, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Chronic liver disease—also known as cirrhosis—is the gradual breakdown of your liver function. Symptoms include feeling weak or tired, a loss of appetite, nausea, and bloating, says the NIH. (Heal your whole body with Rodale’s 12-day liver detox for total body health.)

Viruses like hepatitis, a heavy drinking habit, and some other disorders or infections can all lead to chronic liver disease, according to resources from Johns Hopkins Medicine. So can obesity and some blood diseases, says Sharonne Hayes, M.D., a professor of medicine at Mayo Clinic.

While you can’t do much to protect yourself from some of those risk factors, Hayes says watching your weight, eating right, exercising, and keeping your alcohol intake to one drink per day are all proven ways to protect your liver from disease.

2.Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease

chronic-lower-respiratory-disease

Chronic lower respiratory disease often goes by another name you’ve probably heard before: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD.

COPD is an umbrella term for a handful of lung-related health issues, including emphysema and bronchitis. Roughly 5 percent of all American adults have been diagnosed with one of those two lung conditions, show CDC stats.

Since your lungs are the organs in the crosshairs, you can probably guess the biggest risk factor for COPD: smoking. “Smoking could cause or worsen all of these COPD conditions,” says Hayes. Working in construction, demolition, and some other building trades are also major risk factors for COPD, suggests research in BMJ. (The good news: Quitting smoking helps your health at any age.)

The most common symptom is a shortness of breath. (Here are more signs your lungs might be failing.) But because the disease progresses slowly, you may not notice any sudden changes in your breathing, says Hayes. That may be why the disease often goes undiagnosed until its late stages.

If you feel like you’re struggling to breathe at times—and especially if those struggles seem new—ask your doctor to screen you for COPD. It’s a simple test that involves breathing into a device for a few seconds, says Hayes. Health / Is Sugar Ruining Your Fertility? by Taphealth247(m): 8:32am On May 04, 2017
Ditch the chocolate, sweets and biscuits if you’re trying for a baby. Leading fertility expert, Zita West, explains how sugar could be ruining your fertility

As a practising midwife and fertility expert, I have always been fascinated by the role nutrition takes in every couple’s ability to have a healthy, happy baby.

What I see in my fertility clinic, The Zita West Clinic, is women know everything about ‘diet’ but very little about nutrition. They will be looking for a magic ingredient in their diet that will get them pregnant, but in reality, every part of the diet and the micronutrition within it lays the foundations for a healthy – or not so healthy – egg and sperm.

Over the course of my many years in this field, I have come to the conclusion that micronutrients play a big role in getting pregnant – both naturally and through assisted conception – with deficiencies having significant effects on fertility for both men and women.

I have come to the conclusion that micro-nutrients play a big role in getting pregnant

2016 was the year of Brexit, Trump and the year that sugar became public enemy number one. And not unreasonably so – especially when it comes to your fertility.

In order to make a mature egg both naturally and for IVF, there is a delicate and complex interplay of reproductive hormones that need to peak and flow throughout the month. And unfortunately for those with a sweet tooth, sugar is a major hormone disruption and affects blood sugar balance, having a negative impact on this process.

What’s the evidence?
Some studies show that a lower intake of carbohydrates have links to better IVF success. It is known that eggs and embryos do not thrive in a high glucose environment.

In a study presented at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) meeting last year, IVF patients who switched to a low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet and then underwent another cycle increased their Blastocyst formation rate from 19% to 45% and their clinical pregnancy rate from 17% to 83%.

Even non-IVF patients with poly-cystic ovarian syndrome have improved pregnancy rates after making this lifestyle change, the study’s author Dr. Russell noted.

Sharon Phelan, MD, from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque said: “Although the blood glucose is not high enough to be in the diabetic range, it is enough to be toxic to the developing blastocyst.”continue reading>>>https://taphealth24.com/2017/05/03/is-sugar-ruining-your-fertility/
Health / 7 Headache Symptoms You Shouldn’t Ignore by Taphealth247(m): 9:55pm On May 02, 2017
Like nearly all conditions that revolve around pain, headaches can be tricky to categorize. A headache one person would call “terrible” might feel mild to someone else.

But speaking generally, you need to see your primary care physician if your headache status changes, says Mark Morocco, M.D., a clinical professor and ER doc at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. That means if you never had headaches, but now you seem to have them all the time, your doctor should know about that change, Morocco says. Or if the intensity of your regular migraines has suddenly ratcheted up, that’s also something worthy of your doctor’s attention...continue reading>>>>https://taphealth24.com/2017/04/29/7-headache-symptoms-you-shouldnt-ignore/

It’s likely: Syringoma
These tiny, harmless bumps occur when sweat ducts are blocked. They’re much smaller than a Bartholin’s cyst, and on top of appearing on your vagina, they can crop up on your face (mostly around the eyes), underarms, chest, and belly-button region. “Syringoma is characterized by benign, flesh-colored pimples that are usually not tender to the touch,” says Phillips. “Sometimes there are multiple lesions, or they can grow larger than you’re comfortable with, but resist trying to remove or pop them yourself. It can cause damage to the surrounding skin.” Either let them heal on their own (and make sure you change out of sweaty clothes immediately after a workout), or talk to your doctor about having them removed.continue reading>>>>https://taphealth24.com/2017/04/29/5-vaginal-conditions-you-need-to-know-about/

They’re always hanging around—but most of us rarely give them a second thought. A science journalist exposes the impressive, eye-popping facts.

They’re different from all the other breasts on the planet.
Humans are the only mammals to have breasts that develop in puberty and then remain permanently enlarged, says Florence Williams, the author of Breasts: A Natural and Unnatural History. Other female primates have them when necessary (i.e., their mammary glands grow during lactation and deflate after weaning).
