You guys have totally forgotten that Daniel Craig is playing a younger version of James Bond 007, The first Bond film he did was Casino royale which is the first Bond mission as an MI6 agent. That,s why Brosnan couldn't play this one, they needed some one fresh. Besides Pearce Brosnan for die if to say him attempt the stunts wey Craig do for Casino Royale. |

Religion / Why Do Christians Ignore These Rules In The Bible? by Thirdborn: 10:54pm On Aug 19, 2009 |
Peace to you all! I ‘ve got this thing that has been poking my mind for a long time, its got to do with how Christians ignore or disregard some important rules in the bible (as if all rules are not important). I mean there are quite a few verses I stumbled upon that many Christians don’t follow and when I asked a self professed pastor why, do you know what he told me? “Those are rules for the old days, they don’t apply to the present day”. Can you imagine a pastor telling me that? So I mentioned these verses: - Deuteronomy 28:15: But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee - Matthew 5:17-20: Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. New International Version Well, he ran away after checking the verse cos he couldn’t give me an answer, but there are many other questions I have like; why women don’t cover their hair (like the Muslims) even in church as ordered in the verse: - I Corinthians 11:6: So if a woman does not cover her head, she should cut off her hair. If it is a disgrace for a woman to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her own head. ISV Women are not allowed to speak in Church, but women have gone as far as becoming pastors today, Why? The Bible clearly states that: - I Corinthians 14:34-35: Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. When Christmas comes around, many Christians all over the world set up Christmas trees in their houses when it clearly states that they shouldn’t in the following verse: - Jerimiah 10:2-5: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. So if anybody has a very sensible and reasonable explanation as to why these rules are ignored today, I’d be glad to hear it. And please no “Those are barbaric rules of the old” crap please, ity clearly says that the rules will never change in the Bible. God bless you as you answer sensibly. |
TV/Movies / Re: Proposed Movie Script Needs Comments by Thirdborn: 3:14am On Aug 11, 2009 |
@Stiyke I see Seun already told you what i was gonna suggest, Get celtx, when you download it you'll find a book comes with it on how to write a screenplay, i suggest you read, study and use it well. Your "script" isn't really a script yet, but if you had written the plot or synopsis first from the little i gathered from your "script", i believe you got something there. The dialogue needs worka nd the story sounds short, there has to be a begining, middle and and end. Horror movies are usally the cheapest kind of films to make (even in Hollywood) so i don't believe you'll have too much of a problem getting it made with the right hands, and you could find a market waiting for you, just keep at it and work it well cos trust me scripts need a lot of work and creativity. Some advice, while writing this scripts, try to stay clear of Nigerian films, watch hollywood films to get a better idea of script structuring and tips. I wish i could really help some more, but i have several scripts still waiting to be written. Good luck. |

Politics / Re: Rebranding Nigeria Or Rebranding Nigerians? by Thirdborn: 1:52am On Aug 11, 2009 |
From what most of you are saying, it still all boils down to Nigerians and not Nigeria. A country cannot be blamed but its leaders and the people who allow the leaders strive. Some might say we need a revolution but forget a revolution has to be started by people not the country. This is a country where many people would love a crack at public office so they can chop their own share and waka, with this mentality how can things change and how can the way people regard us change? Columbia is said to be the world's biggest manufacturers of narcotics but guess who are the biggest marketers? NIGERIA. Go into a chat room with the intention of making real friends, when asked asl? if your location turns out to be NIGERIA, the probability that the other party will not log out is low. There are so many negative things that Nigerians have been associated with that people hardly remember that Hakeem Olajuwon (one of the greatest basketballers in history), Philip Emeagwali (Maths wiz who helped the emergence of the supercomputer), Wole Soyinka (Nobel prize winner) and many more, are all NIGERIANS. The country cannot be rebranded until we change the way we live, the way we think and the way people see and feel about us. |
Politics / Re: Rebranding Nigeria Or Rebranding Nigerians? by Thirdborn: 12:30am On Aug 10, 2009 |
jesu seun: @jesu seun Who is playing the blame game, Did you read my post properly? i am just saying its the wrong move. The campaign slogan should have been REBRANDING NIGERIANS is all i said. See why Nigerians need rebranding? We are talking about one thing and Dora's son here is saying something else. We are proud to be Nigerias and just think a different approach should be taken is all. |
Politics / Rebranding Nigeria Or Rebranding Nigerians? by Thirdborn: 3:06am On Aug 09, 2009 |
Almost every Nigerian has heard the phrase "REBRANDING NIGERIA" mentioned many times on TV and repeated by politicians countless times ever since Dora said it. After thinking about it only for a second, i realized that it was all rubbish right from the begining. Let me ask a question, If you ran into a a family who had a few members who were thieves, you wouldn't go keeping things in their house even if the honest ones offered to keep keep your things safe right? Now Imagine if this family painted their house, installed an alarm system and even bought a satellite dish with a mllion channels, will it change the fact that they still got theives in their midst? I guess what i'm trying to say is that it is not Nigeria that people are apprehensive about but Nigerians. One bad egg doesn't spoil the whole bunch but in the case of Nigeria, it has happened. With the activities of a few, the image of the rest of us has been tarnished. We have been labelled 419ers, scam artists and thieves, just because of a few. Remember, people are more likely to remember a wicked deed done to them than a kind one. So i believe Prof. Dora should find a way first of changing the attitude of many Nigerians who only seek to trample on and ruin lives in order to get rich quick before she proceeds with the "REBRANDING NIGERIA" campaign if not she is only fetching water with a basket. That's my word. What's your take on this? |

DJ T is a good friend of mine and he probably is the king of music video directors because even Clarence worked with him before he went solo, BUT guys i give props to Wudi Awa because when Gino's "no be God" came out there was nothing like it on Nigerian TV which is why we are still talking about it four years later. |

@vescucci One of my main guys!(Remeber me i hope/ from the Nollywood threads with Sisikill and them others?) How far? sorry i never dropped in on your thread but better late than never. Any how i am gonna do a quick one here. Love your list by the way, but i don't feel right putting some of them new wave directors with the living legends (Coppola, Scorsese, Lucas, Spielberg). i feel you on Tarantino being one of the good ones, but i wouldn't call him great (that's just me) honestly cos i believe PULP FICTION got way too much hype though it was good. Peter Jackson is still new (he made a couple of Australian or is it New Zealand films a while back), even though he made one of the most memorable trilogies of all time i'll wait for him to do some more stuff before i label him, but so far he is of to a great start. As far as i'm concerned Clint Eastwood is a badder Director than Tarantino (Yeah, i said it.) tarantino na him boy. I wish i knew your entire list sha but i know we'll definitely differ on many but i believe you won't mention any who are not worthy. To add to the legends above i'd say: Bob Zemeckis Ron Howard Did i say Lucas? Roland Emmerich Michael Bay dey try sha, I'll try to think of more, |

@samparian Nice pics of equipment you put on here, i am sure somewhere a nollywood film maker is looking at them and thinking a variety of things. eg. 1. Wow, they made things for that? 2. Nna that thing looks expensive , why don't i continue using my carpenter ladder? Nigerians are so dumb they won't know the difference. 3. That is Hollywood, this is Nollywood. 4. if you like put satellite camera picture for there, Nigerians like our rubbish the way it is. |

TV/Movies / Re: Can Nollywood And Bollywood Ever Work Together? by Thirdborn: 12:06am On Jun 30, 2009 |
@Samparian You are singing my song, where the hell have people like you been? I am involved in this stuff too but i only write and collaborate on stories (not scripts) with a few foreign parties. cos Nigerians feel my stories are not Nigerian enough (maybe just because my stories didn't have cultism, witch doctors or rituals in them). Hope to finish writing the 3 scripts i have been working on for years but they always seem to need fixing every time and when i'm done am going to shoot them when i am able to put together a good team (D.O.P. sound effects engineer, editor,etc.). i hope we can work together one day. I agree with you but i believe , someone can make a good movie and have it edited on a basic apple or adobe workstation and it will meet international standards without a studio, i am not saying you are wrong about the studio, but i believe that there is too much selfishness, greed, and impatience in nollywood and that's what will destroy any hope for a studio. well except 1 man rich and passionate enough will do it. |
TV/Movies / Re: Can Nollywood And Bollywood Ever Work Together? by Thirdborn: 10:54pm On Jun 26, 2009 |
edogram.: @Edogram I want to correct a mistake you people keep making, Nollywood is not the Second largest film industry but the second largest film producers, there is a difference. I f you read my last posts you'll get the stats i put there. Largest has a lot to do with costs, worldwide acceptability, popularity, etc, in these terms, nothing for Nolly. Take note please. |

The sequel to the 2007 blockbuster "TRANSFORMERS" premiered with a bang, sorry a colosal explosion. The most anticipated movie of the summer 2009, "TRANSFORMERS 2: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN" is like an overdose of adrenaline. This movie actually transports you to a different world through its 150 minutes. Definitely on its way to setting a few records. Don't miss this or should i say watch it before some loud mouth spoils the suspense for you by telling it within earshot of you. If you can, watch it at the Cinema. When y'all see it let me know what you think. |
