Good morning VO, I had my interview on 11th and guessed I was approved as the CO didn't state so explicitly but rather said "everything is OK" and then gave me three pieces of papers one telling me to provide an NPC birth cert (I submitted my old original birth cert issued in the late 70s during filing) and submit it along with my passport at CGI, second paper stated where to collect my visa after issuance and the third paper contains information on how to pay the immigrant fee $165. Forgive me if this question seem lame but does it mean my visa was approved? Secondly following my submission of d required doc and passport on the 18th n in light of the recent computer glitch how soon can I expect the issuance of my visa? My case number - LGS2014781014. Thanks and do have a blessed day ahead. |

Hello, A friend of mine is currently being filed for buy her husband in USA, the case has gotten to Nvc stage however we are both invited for a conference in USA schedule for January. She said she may not be able to apply for non-immigrant visa to attend the conference because of her ongoing immigrant filing process. In light of the above can you advice her as to applying for the non immigrant visa to attend the conference or if she should not cos of the ongoing immigrant process. Thank you. |
Religion / Ancestral Religion Versus Imported Religions by Tisa: 10:34am On Sep 19, 2012 |
I can't help but wonder how nigeria n nigerians will be if we had held on to the religions of our ancestors rather than the two imported religions that has given way to the prevalence or everything bad in our societies. I know we will want to say things like "God forbid" but truly most of the evils happening today would not be happening if people know they will receive instant judgment from the likes of Sango, Ayelala, Ogun, Amadioha etc. Imagine a pastor violating an 11yrs old girl in the name of deliverance or the common wasting of lives in the name of money rituals. I know in Yoruba land that if someone was killed unlawfully by another person, the family of the dead can summon the spirit of the dead relative to go torment n kill those that committed such evil against it hence hearing of people being killed in those days was rare but these days the family of the dead will "leave it to God to Judge". I think all this looting by our politicians, robbing of innocent motorists by latsma or is it lastma, ritual killings, religious robbery etc are all common cos the perpetrators know they can ask GOD for forgiveness b4 they die and will be forgiven hence d dead person died in vain. What do u guys think? I think we shd retrace our steps cos it seems these two imported religions doesn't suit us. Please I want us to debate this as matured people. Make ur case with good points and don't let's resort to abusing ourselves. We need to move forward as a people. Since I was a todler people ve been hoping nigeria will get better, praying and fasting and now as old as I am we are still praying and fasting, that's 2 generations o. It shd n MUST stop! Thanks. 7 Likes |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Pictures Of Anti-Japanese Demonstrations In China by Tisa: 10:59am On Sep 18, 2012 |
The people of Japan are extremely proud and domineering people (u need to visit Japan to fully understand dis). The two wars they fought with China were both surprised wars because unlike no that they have the diaoyu islands as reason for conflict they didn't ve any reason to attack China in the 2 wars and for the second war, Japan attcked China when there was a major civil war going on in China. It is true Japan had one of the best navy and airforce before n during d 2nd world war but most of their military machines then were built by the Germans (the true sleeping world power)but China have been building its military itself in the last 40yrs and bros today their military is third only to usa n russia. However I wld prefer they solve the issue thru dialogue sha cos a war btw those two will draw in a lot of countries and set the world economy back a lot. Peace. |

Guys u shdnt be surprised by this now, nigeria is like a dead man walking. The damage corruption has done to this country can only be fixed by divine intervention. Corruption is a cancer that has eaten off more than 95% of whatever is known as nigeria in 1960. In a nation that is being looted left, right, center, up and down I ve learnt to expect the worst. When other nations are moving forward and some rediscovering themselves nigeria keeps on wallowing in idiotic self-praise while they (d politicians) deliberately (for the love of GREED) put the nations in arms way by systematically improvishing its populace and destroying the future of the so called future rulers. I grew up knowing and seeing Nigeria airways but in less than 15yrs the company is no more while smaller countries are making giant strides with their national carriers. Guys, d unfortunate thing is that our politicians n so called leaders are not ready to stop their evil looting and crisis may be inevitable. Wen issue pass cry na laugh or smile man go take end am. Let's c how it goes. 3 Likes |

Lovely article but I doubt if GEJ will change, he (Gej) strikes me as someone that doesn't know what he is a president for, what he ought to do or even give a damn about the many many pains of the people he leads. I voted for him whole heartedly even as people around me called me names in Lagos here for doing so and I desperately hope he will give me the reason to look them in the eye and count the many goods gej has done in 1yr however the shame I feel now as a voter that voted for him is second to none. Is it so hard for him to know that his policies are pushing many more into poverty? Is it so difficult for him to know that nigerians don't always like accepting coins? His approval of the sanusi mad currency policy makes me see him as a monster. What happened to the last set of paper notes that were changed to coins? Can anyone tell me when last they held a N1coin? As at the time N1 n 50k were notes you could @ least buy tomtom with them, how much is tomtom today? Gej has lost the confidence nigerians freely gave him, second only to the great Abiola. How gej gets to be this way is really beyond my reasoning cos it doesn't really add up. He owe nobody his electoral victory order than GOD and the nigerians that queued in the hot sun to cast their votes for him willingly, so which cabal or godfather is he trying to please? Its all really sad. All my life I ve never seen a whole family man n his wife going to houses on the street they reside to ask for food for their kids cos they haven't eaten in 2days, both husband and wife were bankers sacked by Sanusi's witch hunt. My prayer now is that GOD shd sustain Nigerians till gej tenure ends in 2015. I hope those computer or internet attack dogs he employs will actually be truthful to themselves and their GOD and not be attacking people trying to tell the president the truth. Mr. President, Nigerians are really hurting, give human face to ur policies. GOD reigns. 2 Likes |

This is a good first step and I hope the next step will be to COMMAND the tyrant to scrap the policy all together. The SENATORS MUST not allow SLS the tyrant fool they with those stupid english words of his, they MUST show him that they are also enlightened (this is very vital) individuals. They (Senators) should know they are the closest to the people so MUST act in the interest of the people. They should know that this is not a hausas against the south matter but rather a matter that can negatively affect the purchasing power of their own people (hausas, yorubas, igbos, etc) thereby throwing even more into poverty. If possible they shd ask the tyrant SLS to resign cos that's the wish of an average Nigerian @ this time. I do know our Legislators read comments on NL, please do so u can gauge the desires of ur people properly. Thank you. |

The 5k note is not really the issue but the changing of the N20,N10 and N5 notes to coins. He said his basis is cos there will soon be coin machines for buying newspaper etc, y not wait for the machines to come first before introducing coins cos I don't know if the pure water seller or danfo conductor will know the coins is being introduced cos of some machines. SLS shd just stop being stubborn for once n listen to the wishes of his people, an average Nigerian is very intelligent so he is only privilege to be occupying that post, there are countless others that can perform better in that office so he shd desist from forcing tyrannical policies down our throats cos he feels we are all illiterate. The level of suffering in this nation today is second to non. All my life till now I ve never come across families that will come to me to beg for food cos they ve not eaten in 3 days with their 2 toddlers, I entered my house and shed tears before giving them all d cash I ve on me just this saturday and someone is here trying to bring up a policy that will throw even more people into poverty. Guys no matter how comfortable u are please remember that a lot are going to bed hungry daily in nigeria, just this weekend I attended to two of such (people I know on the street here). Let's us resist policies that are harming us. GOD bless us all. |

Yea, this is true, electricity is as good as 24hrs in my area for a while now. I am sure they are working on the distribution sector as well so that we have enough transformers, base stations etc. The govt shd also try to empower our youths financially to become job creators rather than job seekers, this can be done by creating an empowerment program in conjunction with nysc (nysc needs to do more than the 1yr service). It won't be long again b4 we have our national pride again and with that and more good news/actions on d govt side, the northern populace will deal with BH themselves cos I truly believe BH strives on the frustration of the people. I pray for the best for Nigeria and Nigerians. God bless us all. |
Politics / Re: Fani-Kayode: Yorubas Won The Civil War For Nigeria by Tisa: 11:08am On Aug 15, 2012 |
I read a lot of comments directed @ Awolowo here and his decisions during the war and I just laugh. Now let's look @ it this way: 1) Two people were fighting bitterly, fight where they were using cutlass, axe, guns and jazz and suddenly one of the walked up to u and asked u politely to allow him enter ur house and hijack something that belongs to him, u and the man with whom he is fighting and u looked and saw the man he is fighting with running towards the house angrily to stop him with the weapons they ve been using on each other and u looked inside ur house and ur lovely wife (pregnant) two kids (toddlers) are listening in fear to ur conversation with the first man. Will u allow him into ur house? No matter how good a friend the two of u may be? Won't u consider the safety of ur family first? Now if u allow him in then the fight will continue in ur house, will lead to loss of properties and probably ur wife loosing her pregnancy due to shock. Awolowo and the SW leaders were in a similar situation and u will be a hypocrite to condemn the sage for looking out for his people. 2) Now let's turn the table, assuming the war was btw the yorubas n hausas and the country capital is in Aba or Onitsha and after a bitter two yrs of war, the yorubas approached Ojukwu and asked for a safe passage to Onitsha to go and destroy the federal government do u think he (ojukwu) wld ve allowed it knowing that allowing such will effectively turn ur region to the battle ground? Guys look into the two senerios and truthfully tell us u wld act differently if in Awo's shoes. It is terrible that a lot of people died as a result but the war shdnt have been in the first place and I think my ndigbo brothers shd rather blame Ojukwu for leading dem into war just to realize his selfish dream and that same disease still plagues our leaders today only that now its more of money than being a ruler. During a war terrible things happen and anything goes that is why I always urge people to not make noise for war, u never can tell how a war will go no matter how prepared u are. Please be a realist and let the old man rest in peace. Peace to u all. |
Romance / Re: My Husband Flirts With My Friends And Have Them As Contacts On BBM by Tisa: 9:05am On Aug 14, 2012 |
This is a typical story of an average Nigerian lady. Am sure she wld ve dumped a guy that really loves her for this player simply cos he is rich. The man never loved her and forget the stupid excuse of him being decent b4 they got married, if he is careless about his excesses now he wld ve been careless about it while courting her so its simply a case of her seeing it and pretending she didn't while hoping the man will stop when they got married. This shd be a lesson to the unmarried ladies out there, give ur so called broke bf a chance and u will be surprised how successful he will be 5yrs down d line but am sure u guys won't heed my candid advice. As for the lady, its too late now she shd just crry her cross n focus on her kids. She will do herself a lot of good if she prepares to share her matrimonial home with another woman cos soon such a man will meet his match in any of this deadly campus girls with all the jazz and spiritual abrakadabra lol. Jokes aside she can just focus on her kids and use a condom with the man always. The guy must be very fit sha to be properly serviced outside n still ve reserves to satisfy u. It is well. |
Sports / Re: Mikel Is Underrated By Outsiders - Frank Lampard by Tisa: 12:05am On Jul 31, 2012 |
Mikel is the reason I hate mourinho as a coach. He bought mikel then with the sole aim of ruining his game. I still can comprehend the wisdom in his decision to convert an attacking mid fielder (@ the height of his game back then as an 18yr old) to a defensive mid fielder. Back then during the transfer saga I said to my friends that Mikel will be making a big mistake if he dished man u for chelsea simply because sir alex has an impeccable record of nurturing youngsters to stardom but maybe money blinded Mikel and his manager and he crossed to chelsea. Mikel was second only to Messi, the world always paused to watch Nigeria vs Argentina matches during the competitions the two countries played but today you can't even imagine comparing the two of them. This saddens me and I will continue to hate mourinho for it. If u guys will recall even former coach amodu protested to eufa n fifa about mourinho's racist decision then. It is well sha. Only GOD know the height Mikel wld ve been by now. 1 Like |

@ texazzpete - tnx for ur comment but really there is no reason to call me or anybody for that matter names. CBT has a very wide definition and can mean a lot of things in this case. However I looked only @ the weakness in the woman's case and that is the fact that she never borrowed the guy any moni initially, if she did where is the agreement and if there is an agreement then were their withnesses and did both parties involved their lawyers? We do a lot of transactions loosely in Nigeria and believe u me, a lot of the billionaires n millionaires we see in naija today made their moni thru laxity in financial contracts either with banks or partners. My point here is for people to be more careful in dealing with others financially cos a seemingly strong case for u today can turn around to be ur worst nightmare tomorrow. I know cos I ve lost millions to this system even with lawyers agreement and the SFU of the nigerian police still my moni didn't come out. Lastly I am not a fan of nigerian movies, what I know about the Jim guy is that they told me he beats his women in his movies other than that I don't know him so don't mistake me for his fan cos of the points I made. Stay blessed bro. |
Celebrities / Re: Jim Iyke's N15M Scandal by Tisa: 1:26pm On Jul 21, 2012 |
With a good lawyer and in a normal system Jim can claim @ least N50m for damages following this publication. The money advanced was never a loan but an investment as claimed even by the complainant. From d mog shot we can see jim was charged or arrested for assault and not fraud. This woman just got herself into a deep legal mess if Jim were to pursue damages against her. Our police sef try. How wld they ask that an investment be converted into a loan? If so then I shd also get oceanic bank, intercontinental bank, phb etc arrested cos I can change my shares into a loan (get it?). If he truly wrote the undertaken to pay then he can sue the woman in conjunction with the police cos as far as I am concerned he wrote the bond under duress in the police station ( pls be mindful also that our police is not a debt recovery agency). If u think someone owes u I think the best person to go to is a seasoned lawyer n not first the police cos if u do that to someone that knows his rights u may not only end up losing ur moni but be asked to pay damages n other costs associated with d case. I don't know Jim n I don't care about him but looking @ all that I can see above he has a perfect case against the woman if he cares to pursue it. Stay blessed 1 Like |

The hausa/fulani brought this on themselves and unfortunately it will be so for a lonnnng time. No other tribe in nigeria trust them cos they believe so much in violence first towards other tribes b4 diplomacy. No ibo man, yoruba, tiv etc will fight u first b4 talking when there is a disagreement but them mba! Na knives n sword first to make their point. I am happy cos soon other tribes in nigeria will be united against them and by that time it will be too late for them. The blood of the defenseless n arm less southerners killed in the north for just being southerners cry out for vengeance. Their leaders n elders shd quickly convey a broadcast msg to apologies to the other tribes in dis country and the government shd convey a sovereign national conference immediately afterwards. |
