ADHA-Nigeria is an Association Registered in Nigeria with Corporate Affairs Commission as an incorporated organization with the registration Numbe CAC/IT/NO 131567, In other to carry out the following.

The overall mission of ADHA-Nigeria is to seek the welfare and the wellbeing of the African people living with Diabetes and Hypertension in achieving equitable and efficient African health systems and improved health outcomes for Africans and Nigerians to be specific and especially the most vulnerable populations.

[/b]The objectives of the association are to:[b]

1. Be a forum for awareness and a tool of education for people living with Diabetes and Hypertension in Nigeria and the continent as a whole;

2. Promote health education on Diabetes and Hypertension and retention of health economics capacity within Africa ,with particular emphasis on supporting the needs of Diabetic and Hypertensive individuals;

3. Promote the production and dissemination of high quality research findings on diabetes and hypertension by health workers and officials in Nigeria and the continent at large;

4. Promote the appropriate use of funds and policy analysis tools within evidence-informed health sector decision making in Nigeria ;

5. Support health policy development and advise policy makers and health partners in Nigeria and other African countries for equitable health care financing;

6. Represent the interest of diabetic and hypertensive people in international forums such as the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization, as well as to facilitate communications and relationships between health organizations working in Africa and the broad international network of academic ,scientific and policy experts to foster mutual respect and understanding .

Membership of ADHA-Nigeria is open to :
1. Africans and non-Africans working in Africa or having previously worked in Africa in the fight against Diabetes and Hypertension including students.

2. Institutions and organizations involved in the fight against Diabetes and Hypertension in Nigeria and the continental in general.

3. Individuals and organizations in Nigeria and Africa or elsewhere working in the health and or other sectors who support the objectives of the Association.

[/b]What are the benefits of being a member?[b]

▪Registered members will receive membership IDs and later on training in diabetes and hypertension, in order for them to become educators.

▪Certificates will be issued to trained members.

▪ It is an honor being part of the change makers in our society

I want to make it clear that there is nothing wrong with Nigeria but something is obviously wrong with some of her inhabitants.
There is nothing wrong with head of state but there is something obviously wrong with the state of head.
The only change we need in Nigeria is to change our mindset of disbelieve and hopelessness towards Nigeria. We need to rekindle the hope of survival and believe in Nigeria, only then can we get involved in building and rejuvenating the current dilapidated state of Nigeria.
Over the years, we have engaged in democracy but it seemed like ever since then we have been stagnant and unfortunate with all the leaders we have elected; this is simply because we have voted blindly. We have voted out of bias and ethnic sentiments, yet we live in one nation and at the end of the election everyone in the nation suffers the aftermath of their votes. This has happened over time that we have seen it as a tradition and now it is a norm to suffer and smile without any hope of help or liberation.
It is time we dragged political aspirants to a debate, stand them up, put them under duress and watch them challenge each other, showcase their level of exposure and capacity. We need to hear this people speak and then without being biased decide to whom our votes go to.
If there is anyone that will change Nigeria, then it should be a person that have a good understanding of the age we are in, and he must be ready to key into it.
This is the era of ICT, inventions and innovations. All the nations that are doing well in the world in this present age are nations that recognized the age we are in and they are exploiting it.
The era of industrialization is over, therefore natural resources trading have gone obsolete. That does not mean that they are not important and valuable but we should learn to flow with the tide and not against it.
Trust me, there is no other way to ascertain that one person that will change the current state of Nigeria if not through political debate.
It’s high time Nigerians embrace political debate; this is a platform where corns are separated from the wheat. This is a platform where critical decisions are made. This is a platform where we can ascertain the intellectual echelon, mental capacity and the level of intelligence and exposure of a candidate that will have our votes.
Political debate is very important because it gives the masses the avenue to participate, become abreast in politics and as well get to ask critical questions that border them.
It is time all the young person in Nigeria got involved not just in politics but in rebuilding Nigeria. We are the once with the key that has held Nigeria in captivity, we either break it or allow it to linger. We are brilliant and we are the future, it’s time we started calling the shots. It is time we collectively began making policies that will change Nigeria. We can no longer stand and watch, we need to organize ourselves and save Nigeria because, we have the capacity to do so. We have allowed the old enough, it’s time for their retirement.

If we must change Nigeria then we must change our mindset, we must participate in nation building from all level, and we must embrace political debate.
Currently, NYD is organizing a revolutionary political debate that will have all the presidential candidates debate in the presence of over 100,000 Nigerians in Abuja by December. This is going to be one of the biggest debates in the history of Nigeria as a nation.
Therefore, this is a call to all young persons and every organization in Nigeria that is interested in the progress of her nation to partner with NYD to make this happen.

I see a nation where everything works, a nation where there is peace; many shall abandon their nation for this nation. A nation where people live in harmony and in abundance. Men, women and children shall sleep with both eyes closed without any form of fear. I see a beautiful nation, rich in everything, where the masses will know no suffering.
That nation shall be called the “new Nigeria” the nation bound in freedom, peace and unity. So many people has speculated out of the latest happening that Nigeria will definitely disintegrate, some even suggested disintegration as the solution to Nigeria’s problem. Here me today you hypocrite as I prophesy. Nigeria shall remain united as we scale through this hard time. Together we shall overcome these challenges before us and move into a new Nigeria where all good thing abounds. So many nation are looking unto us to see us disintegrate, some has enviously speculated the disintegration of Nigeria long ago, even late FREDRICK LUGARD that merged the three regions together and named it Nigeria, he never knew that these three merged regions will ever remain united after exploiting them, and now so many nation look upon us “the giant of Africa” to see us divide and became vulnerable and less powerful, they look upon us that we may divide and fall, but we shall never forget one certainty that “united we stand but divided we fall” we shall uphold our honour and unity so help us GOD.
Here me today as I say without doubt, that this generation is the chosen generation, the generation that will lead NIGERIA through the red sea and deliver them to their rightful possession where we shall all shout with one voice “I love my fatherland”
Arise o compatriot, join the chariot of the future, the chariot that will cause an indelible change in NIGERIA that the next succeeding generation will be proud of. I want to let you know that all hope is not lost yet and in every hopelessness there is hope. I am a strong believer in Nigeria, a great nation, the giant of Africa, a country with great potentials.
Am so proud to be a Nigerian, which other country can be better than Nigeria, my fatherland. I am happy to have been born in this age, the age when solutions are needed. It shows that my responsibility is to bring forth an everlasting solutions rather than criticize it, if not I wouldn’t have been born in this age, I don’t know about you my listener, but remember, the hope of Nigeria, her future and revitalization rest upon your shoulder, if you choose to blame and criticize it, then it can only but depreciate and dilapidate instead of improve.
For me, I can’t be in my home enjoying or leaving in other countries comfortably while my country mourn, I can’t be in the boats and watch my country drown. I know one thing for sure, am born for this day, a day when solutions are needed.
If you are a Nigerian and you are residing in other countries, it is high time we came home and together fix our nation, for it is our collective responsibilities. Remember no matter how conducive the place you are is, there is no place that can be likened to your fatherland.
I have come up with a massage and several other massages, theoretically and practically and also with the members of my organization, we have contributed the little way we can and still contributing to realize the nation our founding fathers fought for with their blood. That nation can never crumble before us or get disintegrated, no way!
Now the real question is, what have you come up with? What are you doing within your jurisdiction within your powers to contribute to the improvement of the nation if not to worsen it with your sense of ethnicity and criticism? I want to let you understand that for every individual created there is a purpose for his life and the purpose of one’s life is the essence of his creation. May I let you know that part of your life purpose is tied to your nation. There is a reason God never allow you to be born in other well to do countries but Nigeria, he knew that a day like this will definitely come, and he knew your relevance towards this day. Therefore you don’t need to seat on the fence and criticize, no! A hundred times no! This is the time you need to show your essence of being a citizen of this nation. If we Nigerians cannot solve the problems in our nation, nobody can, if we have lost hope in our nation even god cannot help us. So this is the time to make Nigeria great!

Nigeria is in a big mess, there is no doubt about that, but the personal question we should all ask ourselves is How can I liberate Nigeria from this mess?

You know, you may never understand your capacity and what you can do until you start asking useful questions and thinking critically to solve them.

Listen, if you are a citizen of Nigeria then, you must learn to be a citizen not just an indigene.

Nobody is too small to make a change in his community, local government, state.

Nigeria needs help and trust me, what we need is not foreign help, we are the only ones that can salvage ourselves for there is an Igbo adage that states "it is only he that is putting on a shoe knows exactly where it pains him"
If there is anybody that will liberate Nigeria, it must be a Nigerian.

This is a great call to all the youth, it is high time we became concerned with the matters that concerns our nation.

The future of this nation is on the shoulders of the young people, we can not allow anyone to run down our nation.

Some years before the election, he was everywhere, on televisions, radios, newspapers...
he visited every school, church, mosque, organization etc. He traveled to almost every state and village.
His banners were on every rally ground, his campaign posters on every wall in every street, his name on every lips. Soon he became the household favourite.
He promised heaven and earth, promises he swore to keep with the last drop of his blood. He promised to fight corruption with the last ounce of his strength, he had a CV full of integrity, he was as handsome as the devil, his smile could charm even the most devout nun, his tongue was sugarcoated and we soon fell for it like a young naive teenager.

It was no news that he won the election with a landslide victory. He had played his cards well and he floored his opponents.
Now we had expectations, we sat down and patiently waited for him to keep to his part of the bargain.
Weeks turned into months and months years. All we got was excuses, stories upon stories. He casted blames everywhere.

The bad roads were impassable and deteriorating and the epileptic power supply got worse. Ask questions Nigerians, this wasn't what he promised us.
Our educational system is falling, our schools and health facilities have become sorry relics of what they used to be in the first decade post-independence. They are simply nothing to write home about. Is this what we signed up for?

What if we ask about the recovered stolen money from corrupt officers, would we get answers? In spite of the great effort to fight corruption, corruption keeps fighting back more viciously. My father used to tell me that a man who asked questions never misses his way.
How come the rate of insurgency killings are rising everyday and he is not even batting an eyelid? The spate of killings, general wave of violence and insecurity across the country further traumatise the hapless citizenry.
There is a saying that if a child fails to find out what killed his father, that same death may befall him.

Nigeria is blessed with numerous natural and mineral resources. Where has our oil wealth gone to? It's high time we held these people accountable, let's quit the lackadaisical attitude - it will only do us more harm than good.
They tell us everyday that they created millions of job opportunities, they announce these things boldly on the television and radios, we read the figures in the newspaper but then we look around and we can't seem to find any job anywhere, there are more unemployed youths like never before. Did they create these jobs in the air? Ask questions Nigerians, lest our silence be taken for stupidity.

After several years in office, there is no major economic achievement in the fiscal year, for every second the clock ticks, our currency is being devalued. Now you want to run for a second term, tell us why we should trust you again.

There is also no better time to demand accountability from the popular side – ourselves – than now. What have we done with our votes? What will we do with our votes in 2019 and in elections that would take place before and after then? Our destiny is in our hands to shape!
So, for us in Nigeria, it is perfectly fitting to ask ourselves “how has democracy served us?” In our view, 18 years is long enough a time to ask ourselves “how much progress have we made as a people in our democratic journey?” The truth is that 18 years of democracy has come with very sparse rewards for the Nigerian people.

These are just a few out of the thousands of questions demanding answers.
Ask questions that your eyes may be opened like that of Adam and Eve after eating the apple. Ask these questions now, so that the future generation might not be lost.

Ask questions Nigerians, Curiosity once killed the cat but this time around, this cat has nine lives!

[/b]Good Leadership is not Dependent on Age[b]



There is this notion that an older leader is a wiser leader but then, age and wisdom are not always directly connected. Aging affects leadership in several different ways, depending on the personal beliefs and viewpoints of the aging leader. Some people become more effective leaders as they get older and some become less effective.

Although good leadership is not dependent on age, age might be a cue for wisdom.

Despite the fact that an older leader is perceived to be wiser, this may not be applicable where old knowledge no longer applies because we are confronted with new challenges and we have to rely on new information. This is where a younger leader comes in with more creative solutions.

We have examples of older leaders who have performed excellently well. Leaders like
Pope Francis. Age: 77. Pontiff, Catholic Church. ...
Angela Merkel. Age: 59. Chancellor, Germany. ...
Alan Mulally. Age: 68. CEO, Ford Motor Co. ...
Warren Buffett. Age: 83. CEO, Berkshire Hathaway. ...
Bill Clinton. Age: 68. Founder, The Clinton Foundation. ...
Amongst others.

Likewise younger leaders like
Emmanuel Macron, Age: 39, President of France,
Kim Jong Un
Age: 34
Office: Supreme Leader of North Korea
Amongst others who are doing well in their various countries.

From another point of view, the opposites argue that young people are very potential to be a better leader. They state that younger people can see the future more precisely because most of them have grown in the modern era. They also master cutting-edge technology so that they can produce their work more easily, quickly and high quality. In all, it is also some reasons that make young people become considerably good leader.

However, the leaders' job is making a reasonable decision by considering many aspect. This young group mostly lack of this experience, because they have not faced enough difficult situation in team work, especially regarding to their team's attitude.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that age can be ”A Factor;” however it’s not “The Factor!” There are more young people in leadership positions today than ever before; as organizations like that these young leaders bring a fresh energy, teachability and new perspective.

Good leadership is really not dependent on age as age is nothing but a number whereas some younger leaders can be wise beyond their years.

Age alone is not a guarantee of being a good leader, although age and experience can increase the chances.
We should perhaps not dismiss too easily the
wisdom of elders even in the age of Google Maps.

he Nnamdi Azikiwe University has scheduled its 2018/2019 POST UTME and DIRECT ENTRY screening exercise for candidates who made the University their first choice in the 2018 University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry as well as all NAU Affiliate Institutions. the Registration will start tomorrow 6th of August. The dates are outlined below:

SATURDAY, 25TH AUGUST – TUESDAY, 4TH SEPTEMBER, 2018.

Saturday, 25th August 2018: FACULTIES OF ARTS AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES.

Monday, 27th August 2018: FACULTIES OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES AND BIO-SCIENCES.

Tuesday, 28th August 2018: FACULTIES OF ENGINEERING, EDUCATION AND BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES.

Wednesday, 29th August 2018: FACULTIES OF HEALTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.

Thursday, 30th August 2018: FACULTIES OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND PHARMACY.

Friday, 31th August 2018: FACULTIES OF MEDICINE AND AGRICULTURE.

Saturday, 1st September 2018: FACULTIES OF LAW AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES.

Monday, 3rd September 2018: All Affiliate Institution ( FCT UMUNZE, ENUGU STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, TECH, AUCHI POLY, POPE JOHN PAUL SEMINARY).

Pls am a student entrepreneur, how can it be affordable for me to register my business name.

I really want to know the problem with all our service providers here in Nigeria. Especially MTN and Glo. My complain is pointing towards MTN network. Today I was charged 50 naira for a service that I did not subscribe for. Please I did not tell MTN to subscribe game factory for me. I have complained to them about issues like this before, but they kept on deducting my little airtime unnecessarily without my consent, and when you call them to return it back they will tell you that is irreversible. Have you not noticed the exorbitant charges from MTN this days. Increase in Data subscription charges, increase in charges when you borrow airtime from them, ranging from 4-5 naira to 5-7.5 naira . they now charge 10 naira when you do share and sale to even your own number. When I buy 100 naira airtime on Glo network, believe you me that I will not be able to use it to make 6 minutes call. The same thing goes with MTN, you will have 50 naira and they will tell you that you have only 1 minute remaining. MTN have increased their normal whatsApp weekly and monthly subscription from 25 naira/week to 50 naira and 60 naira/month to 150. Their data hardly last to completion this days, even when you are using it without any download.

Why is all this things happening. Please our law makers should find a solution to this very issue because, it is really becoming a serious issue in our communication system.


what is our information minister doing over this issue? We can't continue like this. Am tired of always loosing my little airtime to MTN. I bought it from them, but they will not allow me to enjoy it.

Please, the government should take note of this!!

It is located on a fast developing village, where the Unizik college of health science Nnewi campus is located. The campus is specially meant for Unizik medical students alone. The university is seriously growing with an increase in the number of students being admitted yearly. The challenge some students are facing is nothing but hostels, where they can settle.
