We Have a King!
By
Xochitl Dixon
In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit. Judges 21:25

After attacking my husband with hurtful words when a situation didn’t go my way, I snubbed the Holy Spirit’s authority as He reminded me of Bible verses that revealed my sinful attitudes. Was nursing my stubborn pride worth the collateral damage in my marriage or being disobedient to God? Absolutely not. But by the time I asked for forgiveness from the Lord and my spouse, I’d left a wake of wounds behind me—the result of ignoring wise counsel and living as if I didn’t have to answer to anyone but myself.

There was a time when the Israelites had a rebellious attitude. After the death of Moses, Joshua led the Israelites into the promised land. Under his leadership, the Israelite’s served the Lord (Judg. 2:7). But after Joshua and the generation that outlived him died, the Israelites forgot God and what He’d done (v. 10). They rejected godly leadership and embraced sin (vv. 11–15).

Things improved when the Lord raised up judges (vv. 16–18), who served like kings. But when each judge died, the Israelites returned to defying God. Living as if they didn’t have anyone to answer to but themselves, they suffered devastating consequences (vv. 19–22). But that doesn’t have to be our reality. We can submit to the sovereign authority of the eternal Ruler we were made to follow—Jesus—because He is our living Judge and King of Kings.

PRAY-
Jesus, please help us remember You are our living King of Kings and Lord of Lords, almighty and worthy of our loving obedience and trust.

God gives us the power and the privilege to enjoy the rewards of doing things His way.

19th August

If Google could honour Dr Ameyo Adadevoh with a Google Doodle (a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google's home pages) on her birthday, we should ask why many Nigerian Organisations and On-line platforms have not also celebrated this wonderful heroin of ours?

Dr Stella Ameyo Adadevoh was born on October 27th, 1956. “She is credited to have curbed a wider spread of the Ebola virus in Nigeria by placing the patient zero, Patrick Sawyer, in quarantine despite pressures from the Liberian government. She is known for preventing the Nigerian index case from leaving the hospital at the time of diagnosis, thereby playing a key role in curbing the spread of the virus in Nigeria.”

On August 4th 2014 it was confirmed that she had tested positive for the virus and she passed away on August 19th 2014.

We in our own way celebrate and remember Dr Stella Adadevoh.

NOTE:
God willing we would be having a viewing of the TED Talk presented by her son Bankole Cardoso titled “Patriotism and development” organised by TEDxJabi at our TLF Centre. Kindly send us a message on tinalovefoundation@gmail.com for reservations, inquiries and sponsorship. Thank you.

When I first heard of bbnaija, I did not know anything about it until I visited one link. so far, I've seen 2 pictures about it. one was a lady bringing out her breast. The other is people on the dance floor, with a man and a woman having sex.
.
From the countless number of immoral headlines, i am sure this is one of satan's instruments that will destroy nigeria. With rich people and companies backing up the program, there is problem for this country. God is angry when people promote immorality and the next thing that will follow is judgement.
.
Worse of all, many 'christians' will make positive comments on this evil. More worse is preachers ignoring it in their preaching. Many even find it difficult to preach against immodesty in dressing.
.
my advice to nairalanders and everyone is that you repent from your sins and obey the bible. Don't join in glorifying sexual immorality, cultism, violence etc.

We support you, your position and kick wholeheartedly against the immorality and evil that this show promotes.

It adds nothing to singing like Reality Music shows do
It adds nothing to physical fitness like Ultimate show does
It adds nothing to intellect and knowledge as Mathematics and other Game shows do

It does not build our culture, entrepreneurship skills, home, entertainment value, finances, and all
But acts as an addiction, time waster, money drainer and moral killer.

It does not reflect any religious faith, cultural practice or borrowed culture.
Can we see this among the Japanese, Arabs, British Royals or American elites
Why are we descending to our barest animal instinct?

When Nebuchadnezzar realised he was living as an animal and came to his senses like the prodigal son, they returned to God.
Let's return to God.
It's never too late.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the light

Let's not support, encourage, watch or push the agenda of Big Brother
If only you trace the lives of past participants and ask and wonder

If only you can trace the money and time you spend during its duration
You would wonder and ask
Was it worth it?

Health / Happy World Health Day April 7th by TLoveFoundation: 2:07pm On Apr 07, 2019
World Heath Day

It's #WorldHealthDay! In some cultures it’s traditional to make a wish on your birthday. Today, on our birthday, @WHO’s wish is for universal health coverage for everyone, everywhere. #HealthForAll

April 7 of each year marks the celebration of World Health Day. From its inception at the First Health Assembly in 1948 and since taking effect in 1950, the celebration has aimed to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization.

Over the past 50 years this has brought to light important health issues such as mental health, maternal and child care, and climate change. The celebration is marked by activities which extend beyond the day itself and serves as an opportunity to focus worldwide attention on these important aspects of global health

Over the years the WHO has adopted various themes to mark the day.
These themes have been-
2007: International health security
2008: Protecting health from the adverse effects of climate change
2009: Save lives, Make hospitals safe in emergencies
2010: Urbanization and health: make cities healthier
2011: Antimicrobial resistance: no action today, no cure tomorrow
2012: Good health adds life to years
2013: Healthy heart beat, Healthy blood pressure
2014: Vector-borne diseases: small bite, big threat
2015: Food safety
2016: Halt the rise: beat diabetes
2017: Depression: Let's talk
2018: Universal Health Coverage: everyone, everywhere
2019: Universal Health Coverage: everyone, everywhere

Today being another day to celebrate Health, the Universal health coverage is WHO’s number one goal. Key to achieving it is ensuring that everyone can obtain the care they need, when they need it, right in the heart of the community.

I was privileged to go to the UNIBEN Health Centre April 2nd 2019 to take vaccination against tetanus and I was grateful because I didn't have to go far from my community to receive the free vaccination even though I am neither a staff nor student of the University. But it was coincidentally in this University I based my Undergraduate Final Year Project on Medical Negligence.

A lot still has to be done with regards health care, workers and access. But millions of people still have no access at all to health care. Millions more are forced to choose between health care and other daily expenses such as food, clothing and even a home.

This is why WHO is focusing on universal health coverage for this year’s World Health Day, on 7 April.

I am pleased as a member of TLF to be concerned, involved, act and be vocal on issues relating to health as our theme for the entire month of April in TLF.

Knowing Jesus is the greatest gift we can receive; sharing Him is the greatest gift we can give.

Good morning friends of Jesus our Lord,

Happy mothers day to all aspiring mothers, mothers, grandmothers and mothers of the 'sons' we have here!
Mother's day is marked and celebrated on different days. Some churches mark theirs before, others after Easter. What is important is that we celebrate our mothers, whether alive with us here on earth or alive in heaven with our Heavenly Father.

Kindly drop a line for mothers as we mark this day. Please don't feel out if your mum is no more with us. Celebrate her still, and yourself if you are one or your wife or sisters if they are!

For me, I celebrate my mother.
"I pray God blesses, strengthens and elevates her higher still. May she have joy, peace, mercy, grace, wisdom, protection, provision, laughter, good health, favour, safety, love, good gifts and contentment. May she be kept safe and free from evil whatsoever. May she see more of her children's children and successes. May she reap all she sows and enjoy a bountiful harvest, in Jesus name, amen.

Happy Sunday and remember God loves us.

Greetings in love,

Jesus is real. The words of the scriptures are real.

God convincing us all of His existence is as insulting as asking your true biological mother to prove she's your mother when there are enormous signs, evidence and people to support it. But even at that God has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ His Son Who is Lord.

You knowing and being completely, logically and rationally convinced of God makes you Omniscient and only God knows it all that's why we walk by faith not by sight (even pilots fly by instructions from the control tower and not from the view of the aircraft- as an aside!)

If Jesus is not real and you die and wake up to nothingness or you don't wake at all
what would you have lost in not killing, cursing, hating, abusing drugs, food, alcohol, sleep and se.x undecided
what won't you have gained in living a holy life, praising, praying, reading the world's best selling book (the Bible), being charitable, responsible, humorous, kind, simple and participating in the development of your society?

The life of a Christian in the life of Christ Jesus is wholesome.
It's not dull, rigid, boring, judgmental, fearful, pretentious, irrational, illogical, unscientific or empty.
In God Almighty is the fullness of life.

Come to God today through His son Jesus Christ. Accept His invitation and be born again. It's not rocket science but the best thing that can happen to you as it happened to me and so many others past and present. Knowing Jesus is the greatest gift we can receive; sharing Him is the greatest gift we can give.

We love you and God loves us more.

If you are hypertensive or you have acute anxiety, kindly stay clear off any news platform relating the results of the elections until it is over.
Let someone close to you tell you the results gradually when it's all over.
Please do not self medicate but take lots of water, stay calm and realise that this is neither the first nor the last elections that will take place.
No matter the result, your life is much more important.

We invite you to share your election pictures if you have any.
In my polling unit, it was peaceful and people were allowed to use their phones, pick calls, sit on the pavements and sell water, drinks and food, and also buy and eat.

I took a small phone because of the uncertainty of phones being allowed so bear with TLF if the pictures are not clear and precise

Religion / Merry Christmas by TLoveFoundation: 12:09am On Dec 25, 2018
Beloved happy Christmas,
To our mothers in the house you can imagine the labour pains Mary had started experiencing and now given birth. The angels had concluded their rehearsals and now singing. The shepherds had made plans for tomorrow like any other day but now experienced a divine encounter. The wise men were busy studying, observing and contemplating now following a star. Herod was busy gloating soon will soon shiver. Joseph was busy making arrangements and now Jesus is born to come as the One the world eagerly expected and longed for, to save the world.

So how are we celebrating Christmas? The mass of Christ, the day set aside from 366 days to mark the birth of our Saviour?

No matter the turkey, chicken, rice, oil, dress, shoe, money, and others we have or do other have, Christmas will come and the heavens and earth shall sing and celebrate because that's exactly what happened on the first Christmas!

Joseph and Mary had no bags of rice, Christmas clothes or shoe. But Jesus was born. Their travelling was not by choice but they had a safe journey (as would as any here that have and will travel to and fro, amen). They had no money but ended the day with gold, frankincense and myrrh all gifts for baby Jesus.

So what are your expectations for this 2018 Christmas? What gifts are you expecting from God? What gift are you giving Him?

Happy Christmas and have a safe, blessed and joyfully happy day

Crime / Re: Rape Victim, Ochanya's Corpse For Burial (Photos) by TLoveFoundation: 8:54pm On Nov 02, 2018
Where We Lost It On Rape As A People

Let nobody preach indecent dressing to me as the cause of rape.

Our mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers etc walked about naked, they had their bath in streams with men at the other side of the same stream. They had their waists lined with beautiful beads and their bare firm breasts, going about their businesses in their respective communities.

Nobody molested them and they were not raped because of this.

Anybody who raped then was named, shamed and banished from the community. There was zero tolerance for rape.

As civilisation progressed and law recognised rape as criminal offence, the conspiracy against zero tolerance for rape began

Offenders were hidden and begged for, the victims/survivours were stigmatised, begged, intimidated or threatened to prevent offenders from being prosecuted.

Hell was let loose. The result? Raping, anywhere and everywhere without boundaries: Some fathers and supposed protectors, traditional rulers, security agents, bosses, teachers, religious leaders, political leaders, students, artisans etc became rapists.

In short, anybody could rape anybody. Rape became unlimited.

Sometime ago, I witnessed a rape prosecution, where the Judge ordered the remand of the accused person, the Accused's Father tuned to the Survivour's father and said, so finally you sent my son to jail, is the virginal of your daughter Gold?.

And I wondered, is the penis of his son Gold. Eventually, the survivour's father pursued the case to a logical conclusion and the Accused was jailed.

That was a Great Dad, a protector and defender, not one who himself has tuned rapist and is molesting his biological daughter.

Until we go back to our community zero tolerance for rape: rape will continue and this has nothing to do with dressing.

Una good morning, great people

Crime / Teenage Girl Dies From Depression Caused From Rape By Father by TLoveFoundation: 1:42pm On Oct 14, 2018
Beloved,

We condemn in strong terms the act of rape in itself, be it to a biological relative, in-law, neighbour or total stranger. Whether a girl prostitutes herself or is the cause of seduction either by her words or actions (dressing or whatever) there is no justification, excuse or condoning of rape.
Rape to a female by a male, to a male by a male or penetration with whatever instrument is totally abhorred, disgusting, repulsive and wrong in all shades 100%.
We use our various media platforms to stand against rape, stand for rape victims and their families.
We sincerely urge victims and family members as well as their friends to please speak out. Speaking out helps to stop the rapists from going on to rape others. It also brings justice for the victim. It helps to raise the self esteem of the victim who is mostly portrayed as the shameful one by few wrong people in the society.

Also read the comment by-
‎Rita Ilevbare‎ to GRIPWOMEN·

"The death has occurred of a teenage girl @Iyin-Ekiti, due to sexual abuse by her father. The' father has been arrested.

Mothers in the house, let us be vigilant. Anybody can be a sexual abuser: father, brother, son, husband, traditional ruler, religious leader, men in any profession and in all professions.

Let us stop blaming the victim whenever there is sex related issues.

All sexual misconducts almost always have the issue of unequal power relation between the parties.

It is immaterial that the victim, usually a woman consented. There is that unequal power relation that places the perpetrator at an advantage.

The victim is most likely to act differently, if the perpetrator did not have such an advantage over and above the victim.

Eg of these advantages are but not limited to the following:
* gender (male/female
*master/servant
* boss/subordinate
*senior/junior
*older/younger
* rich/poor
*teacher/student
* leader/follower

The list is endless. Usually, the victim is unable to talk, either bc nobody will believe, will be blamed or may even be viewed as an ingrate.

This happens in sexual exploitation where the weaker person facing the abuse is looked at as not even deserving of the abuser in normal situation, so what right has this weaker person to complain about being abused, instead of being grateful.

I am discussing sexual misconduct here in a board sense and not only rape.

We often hear statements like, "but she was not raped, she willingly submitted herself.

Have we stopped to critically examine the power relation between the parties?

Unless and until we stop blaming and empathised with the party at the receiving end, sexual misconducts and its attendant consequences will remain with us."

Religion / What Are We Here For? by TLoveFoundation: 2:52pm On Oct 11, 2018

I had legos while growing up.
I could build anything and destroy whenever I wanted.
I could build cities and have citizens.
I could buy other forms of legos and infuse them to the old ones.

Little did I know how God worked by then.
I'd never read the Holy Bible or got the understanding of the person of God the Creator.

As I grew older, I got to see diverse people, with diverse abilities, destinies and opportunities.
Some lived to old age, some died early and younf. Some were rich, some were poor. Some could sing, song could draw.
Some knew God and acknowledged Him, some rejected Him and ridiculed Him. While others outrightly denied His existence.

It was sad to know that people believed that they came from a bang and were moving into nothingness after this world. If after many years I could still read about Shakespeare and Pluto, Oba Ewuare and King Jaja of Opobo. If I could still hear of new creatures discovered inside the oceans and birds discovered just recently. If I could hold a 100 dollar bill and see in God we trust and hear the phrase O God of Creation in the Nigerian anthem of old.
Then I wondered why anyone would would choose not to worship God Almighty or believe in God?

By 1996 while discovering the world of charity, I had an encounter with the God of love. I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ in 1998 and asked that in 9 years from my commencement of works of charity to 2005, I be given a picture of the name, mission, vision and purpose of what I did once every year in different places and what am I here for? Couldn't I just continue my works of charity as an individual as I did from 1996 to 2004?
Was God really sending me on this path?
Would this NGO be a determinant of my life and of my identity?

Many years up the road, I look back and I say, a way may seem right to a man but the end is destruction (may that not be my portion). But if I have missed it in any way, I ask God to redirect and guide me, to send His builder and servant. As David gathered and Solomon built, I ask God that my work, effort, gathering and establishing will not be in vain. The way is right! Thank God.

I am comforted by the fact that Jesus says, he that is for us cannot be against us. Anyone who preaches in His name cannot be against His mission.
I take joy even if it is one soul won, one body clothed, one person helped, one spirit lifted or one mind influenced for good.

The love of God is far greater than any mission or vision, any name or establishment, any effort or years of toiling.
The love of God is above all.

Then came 2005, on exactly January 1st, the journey began to the ministry of Tina Love Foundation (TLF) which initially was Tina C(law) Foundation.
With several other NGOs, Charities, Foundations, Ministries, Bodies and Agencies already in place doing what I set out to do, I'd to address the question of, what am I here for?
I make bold to answer as flesh and blood have not revealed it to me-
To be used by God!
I could use my legos at will! I could do whatever I wanted. They were inanimate and had no will.
But for God, all things are for His pleasure, they were and are created for that. He is worthy to be praised, honoured and glorified.
Why will God make me and give me the gift of dancing, speaking, reading, repairing, crafting, manufacturing, thinking, singing, joking, treating, defending, diagnosing, walking, running, interpreting, teaching, prophesying, preaching, counting, and many other abilities born with or developed, if not for His good purpose?
We are made for God, for God.
All we do must be for God and by God.
The freewill that differentiates us from legos is just a little higher gift meant to mark us as those singularly created in His image and likeness.
The God Who made you and I and called us to our specific purposes has a plan for our good and to bring us to a future of hope, not destruction and death.

The ultimate law is love... Romans 13:10

On Nairaland we will be posting on our activities, our mission and vision.
We e would also make contributions from the stand point of the collective NGO.
Know that we are an Incorporated Trustee so our liabilities are limited to the NGO so also our benefits.

GOD LOVES YOU

Fajana says, the richest wealth is health and wisdom. The strongest weapon is patience. The best security is faith. The greatest tonic is laughter, and the greatest force is love. Surprisingly all are free.
