This is after the country is holding a mass cycling rally today, to mark World Health Day, at a time when other countries are scrambling to put the Coronavirus at bay and keeping their shores under lock and key.

The country claims that it still has zero report of the virus,but health officials believes this to be far from the truth as the country has shown time and time again to being the act of censoring information leaving its shores.

Professor Martin McKee from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, who has studied the Turkmen healthcare system has this to say, “Official health statistics from Turkmenistan are notoriously unreliable.

“For the past decade, they have claimed to have no people living with HIV/Aids, a figure that is not plausible. We also know that, in the 2000s, they suppressed evidence of a series of outbreaks, including plague.”

Some of the citizens of the central Asian country are even afraid to suggest that the virus may already be in the country.

“My acquaintance who works in a state agency told me that I shouldn’t say that the virus is here or that I heard about it, otherwise I may get into trouble,” said a resident of the capital, Ashgabat, who requested his identity be kept anonymous.

However, Turkmen authorities are discussing with UN officials in the country to work up an action plan towards curbing an outbreak.

Elena Panova, UN resident Co-ordinator has said that the plans in discussion could include country level co-ordination, risk communication, case investigation, laboratory diagnostics among other measures.

When Ms Panova was asked whether the UN agree with the official figures put forward by the country which showed no reported case of the virus, she gave no straight response.

“We are relying on official information because this is what all countries are doing,” she said. “There is no question of trust because that’s the way it works.”

Ms Panova opined that early travel restricting measures might have contributed to lack of confirmed cases.

Downing Street has said that the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has been moved to the intensive care of hospital after the symptoms of the coronavirus he showed worsened.
A spokesperson said that this was done after the advice of his medical team, and he is receiving excellent medical care.

The Prime Minister are asked Foreign Secretary, Dominic Rash, the deputise where necessary.

The PM was admitted to hospital on Sunday evening after he has shown “persistent symptoms” and the Queen has been kept informed about Mr Johnson’s health by No 10.

It was reported that the prime Minister was given oxygen on Monday, but has not been put on a ventilator,before being taken to the intensive care.

A No. 10 statement read: “The prime minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus.

“Over the course of (Monday) afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital.”

It continued: “The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication.”

Mr Raab, who will later be the chairman of the government daily COVID-19 meeting, has said that he and his colleagues were making sure they implemented the plans Mr Johnson had instructed them to deliver “as soon as possible”, adding that there was an “incredibly strong team spirit” behind the prime minster.

“That’s the way we’ll bring the whole country through the coronavirus challenge,” he said.

Sir Keir Starmer, Labour leader, has described it as “terribly sad news”.

“All the country’s thoughts are with the prime minister and his family during this incredibly difficult time,” Boris Johnson he added.

When we were growing up, our parents always asked what we would like to be in future and we open our mouth wholeheartedly and say doctor, pilot, engineer, banker, etc.

To be candid I wanted to be a Lawyer but today I am a post-construction cleaner, sounds funny but crazy. Whenever we went to school, there is this song we loved to sing then ‘parents listen to your children, because we are the “leaders of tomorrow”, try and pay our school fees and give us sound education’. Our parents have done their part by giving us sound education, we’ve done our part by becoming learned, yet we are not “Leaders”. Politicians of then said parents train your children well because they are the “Leaders of Tomorrow”.

30years running, some graduated with a good grades, some went ahead and had their masters, some Bsc, some OND, some HND, some NCE, etc…what comes to some of our mind is desperation and desperation often leads to destruction because we are hungry, we are angry, we are jobless, we are frustrated and out of this frustration some have committed suicide, some joined bad gang, some become armed robbers, hired assassins…..

Now lets go to my main point, are we really the leaders of this day? When I can’t even afford three square meal, I don’t have an apartment of my own, you hardly see a 35 year old occupying an office in the house of assembly, house of rep, senatorial district and so on. These set of politicians that tell us we are the

“Leaders of Tomorrow” still occupy these seats comfortably and from the look of things they are not ready to leave in near future. Tomorrow is here, yet we are nothing near Leaders, are we truly the Leaders of Today?

A video surfaced online and shows a female student holding the penis she found in her food. Other students, all wearing their school uniform, gather around her to catch a glimpse as they scream in shock.

They cannot help but wonder where it came from, an animal or a human. The body part looked so real with the shape and structure similar to that of a human being.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a final warning to political parties ahead of the upcoming general elections.

The electoral commission directed all political parties to complete the processes for the submission of the names of their polling agents by Monday, February 11th.



This was stated in a statement issued by Mr Festus Okoye, INEC National Commissioner, and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, on Saturday in Abuja.

Okoye explained that INEC in its Timetable and Schedule of Activities for 2019 General Elections had fixed Feb. 1, as the last date for the submission of the name, two passport photographs of each polling agent and sample signature for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections scheduled for Feb. 16.

Okoye said that the commission at its meeting with all Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) in Abuja on Friday reviewed its state of readiness for the general elections, the national and state elections, scheduled for Feb. 16 and March 2. Okoye said that at the end of the meeting, the commission expressed concern that a week after the deadline for the submission of the list of poll agents for Presidential and National Assembly elections only few parties had completed the submission of the names of polling agents.

Gary Lineker has donated £1,000 to the family of pilot David Ibbotson, who has yet to be located following the plane crash that killed Emiliano Sala



Fifty-nine-year-old Ibbotson was flying the plane that carried the 28-year-old Cardiff striker from Nantes when the Piper Malibu crashed into the sea on 21 January.

So far, the body of Sala has been found, but Ibbotson is still missing, presumed dead.

After only four days authorities called off the search for the missing footballer and pilot, however a private search was undertaken after £260,000 was raised.

Once the body of Sala had been found, Ibbotson’s family set up a GoFundMe page, asking the public to help bring the pilot home.

Currently the page has raised more than £100k of a £300k target.

In the late hours of Saturday evening, Lineker donated £1,000 to the fund – the second highest donation thus far.

The highest was from a generous person under the name ‘Elie Lottin’ which was £27,000.

Lineker then went on to share the fundraising page on Twitter and also said he hopes the clubs ‘chip in’ to the fund.

Five people have died in Southern California after a small plane crashed into a house on Sunday, setting it on fire.



Orange County Sheriff’s Cory Martino said the pilot died as well as four occupants of the home in Yorba Linda, which is about 35 miles (56km) southeast of Los Angeles.

Those killed in the home were two males and two females, Orange County officials said at a news conference.

Local Media reports that the flight got into trouble barely minutes after taking off from a local airport some 20 miles (32km) south-east of the city.

George Mason, his ex-partner and Nicholas Mullan, had sex with an unknown third man between Leicester Square and Waterloo stations, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard and a video was posted on Twitter with the caption “100% genuine footage”.

Though Mason admitted outraging public decency, Mullan was not fined but told to pay £170 costs and carry out a 12-month community order. The incident happened in July 2017, but it was not reported until February last year, when it was posted on Twitter.

American Rapper, Bow Wow has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery charges in Atlanta after an alleged altercation with a woman..

The rapper, whose real name is Shad Moss, was arrested early Saturday following a fight with a woman in Midtown Atlanta, said Officer Jarius Daugherty.

Police took both individuals into custody early Saturday morning in Atlanta. According to TMZ, Bow Wow and the woman had a dispute. When the police arrived, the woman claimed that Bow Wow assaulted her while claimed that she did the same. The police have identified the woman as Leslie Holden.

Unable to determine how the alleged fight started and who started it, Police arrested both Moss and Holden on battery charges and took them to the Fulton County Jail.
