What don't you agree to?. That she can act or that her dress sense is awful?. If it's the dressing personally I think she is one of the worst offenders in Nigerian home movies
As per RMD for goodness sake that man is already turning grey and going bald. At least that's what I see

That's the most ridiculous story I've ever heard or read.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslims: Are We Bad? by tomi29: 9:55pm On Aug 17, 2006
Please you've done enough quoting(unfortunately you've mostly quoted out of context). What have you proved. Christianity is violent? hmm
Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslims: Are We Bad? by tomi29: 6:04pm On Aug 17, 2006
@babyosisi.

Please do not get guilty of the same thing you are accusing people of. Where did you get your history lessons about mohammad?
Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslims: Are We Bad? by tomi29: 4:35pm On Aug 17, 2006
@Neoteny
Your arguement is higly flawed. Do not quote scriptures from the bible out of context. You are giving quotes without telling us the whole story. For instance David and Saul never had a contest on who could kill more people. Remember there was a war and David helped win the war which was the cause for the verse you quoted.
Besides according to the bible Jesus came to redeem us from the law and he preached love.  You can read the bible and interpret it any way you want in as much as it justifies your argument. Gays find the bible convenient enough for their arguments, when the early christians where killing each other they used the bible to justify their acts, some used the bible to justify the witch hunt. See it depends on you  obviously you took verses out of the bible to justify  your arguments good for you I read the same verses and interpret them in another way.
However we are in a civilized world and violence doesn't solve anything. For you to tell me Jews killed Jesus because of that they hate christians is crap you know. Last time I checked Jesus himself came as a Jew. Also, you can say the palestinians are fighting for liberation so are the Isrealis- they all are fighting for what they believe in isn't it?. Which is why I said earlier don't blame Isreal and US for the violence and terrorism we see today. If you see wrong condemn it.  What justifies killing of innocent lives some of them muslims I ask?. Nothing
Many atrocities has been committed in the name of God/christianity. Do we justify their acts today and blame a group for what they did? No. Who in the world today considers nazis heroes?. I don't think any one in their right mind. The church has acknowledged its wrong when Pope John Paul ll apologised to the victims of the crime. When Timothy McVeigh bombed the building in oklahoma city - because according to him Americans have turned from God- how many people came out to praise him and to jusfity him?.
Is christianity a perfect religion? Absolutely no. Many have deviated from what I consider the essence of christianity - Love.  Is Islam all about peace these days? No.  If we all practice what we say the two religions are about LOVE and PEACE, the world will be a better place.

parkerdrt:

the perception of islam will not change unless the moderates begin to speak out.

You have a point there. That's the only thing that bothers me about some muslims. When radicals amongst you act violent, condemn them instead of blindly supporting them and blaming Isreal and America for their acts. At least when the moderates speak out against the radicals then at some point people will begin to listen to you and believe the religion doesn't promote violence as the world has been made to believe.

saywhat:

These days, the story seems the same. i can't visit my Muslim female friend, because i am christian. WHY?

I can't go into my friend's house because i am non-muslim.

That's funny I don't know why that has to be the case. Some of my closest friends are muslims and I do visit them regularly without any problem.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslims: Are We Bad? by tomi29: 5:47pm On Aug 16, 2006
that comment about muhammad was really uncalled for.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslims: Are We Bad? by tomi29: 5:34pm On Aug 16, 2006
Are muslims bad or are they good? - the question is too generalized. Now is Islam itself a bad religion - NO. I don't think any religion is bad, as far as I concerned the purpose of religion is to promote "morality". What do I personally think is the problem - fanatism?. Fanatism in any religion is bad and it breeds violence- xtianity, Islam, Judaism and so on. The sad truth is that Islam has more fanatics than any other religion that I've seen.
Politics / Re: Ekiti PDP Governorship Aspirant Killed by tomi29: 3:49am On Aug 16, 2006
Hmm! Another one is dead and no hope of finding the killers. May God have mercy on Nigeria - too many lives wasted and so much blood on her hands. What else can we say, no matter how much we scream and shout that wouldn't stop them. But should that keep us silent - absolutely no. PLEASE STOP THE KILLINGS.
May their souls rest in peace - Bola Ige, Harry Marshall, Funsho Williams, Ayo Daramola and many that have been killed in the name of politics even the unknown souls.
Celebrities / Re: Genevieve Nnaji Or Omotola: Who Is The Snob? by tomi29: 7:23pm On Aug 15, 2006
And when you met them, you expected them to act like you best friends? Get real and get over your bitterness.
TV/Movies / Re: Common Flaws in Nigerian Home Videos by tomi29: 2:55am On Aug 15, 2006
They always use fake flowers and sometimes they even sniff the flowers like they are real.
The hospital scenes are always annoying - all it takes to diagnose an ailment is a stethoscope.
The court scenes- I just hate watching those
The sex scenes esp. if its in the living room- both parties always have their clothes on - I mean fully clothed with the belts all buckled and to make matters worse you hear the moaning.
The actors trying to sing e.g Pat Attah in 'I want my money" - the guy can't sing to save his life
TV/Movies / Re: Most Annoying Nigerian Actors/Actresses by tomi29: 2:45am On Aug 15, 2006
Omotola _ can definitely act but her dressing irritate the hell out of me
Stephanie Okereke- can't stand her
Aki and Pawpaw - aviod their movies like a plague
Hanks Anuku
Ini Edo - sometimes her eyes rolling and tongue licking acts get on my nerves
RMD- when trying to act the part of a young romantic lover - he's old for goodness sake
Emeka Ike- looks stupid when professing his love
chiege Alisei( can't spell her name)- when trying to act all tushed up or the part of a janded babe
Nkiru- too much crying
Celebrities / Re: Genevieve Nnaji Or Omotola: Who Is The Snob? by tomi29: 2:14am On Aug 15, 2006
I am so sure all those saying these actresses are rude I've never met them in person. How can you judge someone merely by seeing them on tv. The mere fact you play a character doesn't necessarily make you one.
Celebrities / Re: Best and Worst Dressed Nigerian Celebrities? by tomi29: 1:59am On Aug 15, 2006
I don't have any body to choose for best dressed. 90% of the time they all wear the wrong outfits. The only time the ladies seems to go right is when they wear traditional outfits. However some of them are just plain terrible from the hair to their OUTFIT to the shoes and they are Omotola Jalade (outfits usually too small), Stephanie Okereke (pants are always too tight and too short and shoes are always terrible), Genevieve (her office/formal wears are just plain terrible- at least in the movies). These are definitely not the worst offenders they are just the ones I seem to take note because I expect more from them. Now some do manage to put on something reasonably nice at least once in a while - Georgina Onuoha, Dakore Egbuson, Rita Dominic (she over does the hippy look at times) and Carol Ekanem.
As per the guys nothing to write home about, Where do I start from - KOK with his multi colored suits or Jim Iyke with his tight pants?
PS Most Nigerian Celebrities Need Lessons on Fashion and What to wear and What not to Wear.
Least I forget some deserve honorable mention in the worst dressed category - Ini Edo, Maureen Solomon
Fashion / Re: The Tyra Banks Show by tomi29: 3:18am On Aug 14, 2006
please be realistic. If you hate oprah that's fine but to say that she's fake - that's bullshit. You don't stay on top of your game for 20 years by being fake. You must have something going for you and you definitely have to be real.
As for Tyra Banks show I have never been able to watch the show for more than 5 minutes. It bores me to tears and her tears and oversensitivity act just get on my nerves.
However time will time if she has something to offer. Just because I can't stand the show doesn't mean it's not good
I don't watch oprah too often either. Too much sexual abuse and weight issues going on and I'm tired of seeing the lady psychologist she always brings on the show. However I still give her props. Man, there are many talk show hosts out there, however not many stood or can stand the test of time and not one can be called either a billionaire or "powerful".
