To Seun Osewa. Seun I hope you read this but I just want you to know that you are an icon to the Nigerian youth. You are what an average Nigerian youth should aspire to become, not Davido or Wizkid cos with your ingenuity, you have created a site most some Nigerians have benefited from one way or the other. I read your interview on forbes and you mentioned that creative freedom is what drives you, now I want to state that you have used your intelligence to create a platform that has become a cyber pace setter in Nigeria and Africa(According report yours is the most visited website by Nigerians). You inspire me a lot seun, I haven't met you before but I would someday. And to my fellow Nigerian youths on this platform seun has proved to us that we are smart and intelligent, even with this harsh environment we find ourselves in we can make something out of it, seun has proved that to us. For this reason, my man of the century award goes not to steve jobs, mark zuckerberg or mandela but to our own Seun Osewa. I love you bro(No homo) 2 Likes |

Great men don't die, they live on in the hearts of people that share their beliefs, vision, passion and wisdom. CA might be an Igbo man but his works inspired Nigerians and to an extent Africans. We young Nigerians should realise that so many great men have died through the emotional pain they begot whilst stuggling to make the nation better for the younger generation.......Gani Fawehinmi, Fela Anikulapo, Ojukwu, Awowolowo, Dele Giwa, Bola Ige and Now CA didn't die in vain, they ascended to the great beyond so that some of us can continue from where they stopped. Nigeria shall be great, Africans will be free and Humanity will unite...they all didn't die for glory, power or honour, they died for freedom, they gave their all, what are you willing to give? SimonAndal: Delusion in the 21st century is a compliment and I will take it as that even if you mearnt offence. I will tell you something you don't know about delusion; if over 600 years ago someone told you that in the distance future there be will a machine as big a 3 story building carrying people from say Africa to Europe by air you would have said he is in delusion yeah, but guess what? We have the plane. But because you see it every now and then you will say it's no rocket science but if someone had told you about it over six hundred years ago you would have said he is in delusion. Let's look at Steve Jobs for instance, in case you don't know he is the inventor of Apple. If he had told you in year 2000 that he will create a product that will overtake Microsoft you would obviously have said he is deluded but guess what? Everybody is talking about apple today and not Microsoft but over 20 years ago people like you would say Steve Jobs is deluded. All the inventors we have had in the past few years like Henry Ford, Zuckerberg, Eintstin et al were at one time in their lifes regarded as deluded. Coming back to Naruto, characters in naruverse used to see Naruto as not just deluded but someone that was extremely crazy, now those same characters are looking up to Naruto as their hero/saviour/leader. That's exactly what kishi is trying to say. Only deluded and crazy people can change the world. Even Steve Jobs has this to say 'It's only those crazy enough to think they can change the world that actually do'. So if you are saying am as deluded as Naruto I would take it as a compliment. So when I eventually change the world you will tell your kids stories about me, so yes Naruto has inspired me more than any pastor who spend billions of naira in buying private jets while people wallow in poverty, he has me inspired more that any leader who continue to loot the treasury while people continue to suffer in the midst of plenty. Just like Naruto once said 'I will change everything and make the people live in peace even it takes my life'. 1 Like |

Jibsonified: If you understand Naruto very well you will understand what Kishi is trying to portray. Abraham gave birth to Isaac and Ishmael (one is the ancestor of the Arabs whilst the other is an ancestor of the jews) and it has been foretold in the scriptures(I.e the Bible and the Qu'ran) that Jesus will return to save humanity from the hands of the Anti-christ/da-jjal once and for all. Sage of the six path in the naruverse represents Abraham while the Senji and the Uzumaki clan represent the Arabs and the Jews respectively. Naruto no doubt represents the coming of the saviour of Humanity(I.e Jesus) who is a member of the senju clan(Jesus is Jew). Kishi took inspirations from the Abrahamavic religions no doubt but not everybody can see it. |
TV/Movies / Re: Why Do Most Guys Watch Cartoon? by tplacid: 5:30pm On Feb 02, 2013 |
Naruto is a satire that can only be understood by an intelligent mind, it touches all human's philosophical reality(political, spiritual, military, genetic transfer et al), each character in the naruverse(narutoworld) symbolises something. Rock lee symbolises hardwork, Neji symbolises intelligence, sakura symbolises brains and beauty, Atastuki symbolises evil, the hokages symbolises leaders who continiously sacrifice their lifes to protect the young generation, naruto himself symbolises hope/the saviour/the chosen one. Beyond all that, naruto is more than an anime or a cartoon, it's a message to world youth to rise up to the level of a hero, a chosen one in this trying time for humanity. If we look around us we can deduce that happenings in the world is as a result of the interest of the global elite ;illuminati(atastuki)to have a global control over the world(remember atastuki's agenda is to revive the juubi the entrance humanity to bow to their needs. Even in our environment where environmental degradation has worsened the life of the Niger Deltans over the years, innocent children dying in north in the hands of BH whilst our leaders loot the treasury. Places like syria, libya, iraq, palestine are all suffering as a result of tyranny of the Global Elites(Illuminati/Atastuki). These are indeed trying times for humanity and the one thing we need is a 'NARUTO' it could be me, you or anybody. But obviously whoever is going to free humanity(just like naruto is trying to save naruverse) is going be young a person that is realistically naïve. NB: the atastuki have a lot in common with the illuminaties. Just observe and you will understand the message kishi is trying to pass. We need a 'Naruto' to defeat our atastuki(the illuminati). It's funny how some xtians come to muslim section to hurl insults on Muslims and Islam and when they get banned they will start ranting about getting banned and how insecure Muslims are, I mean 'come on' I go to the christians section and I have never seen a Muslim say negative things about christians in that section not to talk of hurling insults at them but christians come here and stay all sorts about Muslims and all. Each and everytime I keep thinking about what Ghandi said 'I like your christ but I don't like your christians, your christians are so unlike your christ'. Jesus will never insult anyone but you christians come here to insult Muslims, Muhammad(PBUH) was not a terrorist but some Muslims are. So the Christians that hurl insults at Muslims and the Muslims that terrorise the world are the same because they both violate the teachings of Jesus and Muhammed(PBUH) respectively. There is no such thing as xtians are saint and Muslims are bad. There is only good and evil, good xtians and good muslims, bad xtians and bad muslims. It's just that. 2 Likes |

El Rufai's comment about Jesus(Isa) goes a long way to say that he is not a Muslim but those people that hide under the umbrella of Islam to cause disrepute to the religion. First of all believing Muslims love and believe in all the prophets of Allah I.e Musa, Isa(Jesus), Abraham, Nuh, Adam and Muhammad. So if you say anything against one you are speaking against others, invariably if you disbelieve in one prophet then you disbelieve in the others. We should all realise that El Rufai was part of a corrupt system(OBJ's Administration) and Islam forbids corruption so if a man like El Rufai speaks, his speech should not be seen as the view/opinion of all Muslims. 1 Like |

All of you need to realise that there is no nation greater than Humanity, so ya all calling for one nation to nuke another for whichever reason is anti-human. We should all realise that the world is not divided into Christianity and Islam, East or West, Black or White and all those other divisions the global elites have made you believe.....simply put the world is divided into good and evil. So you should think about the after-effect of the detonation of a nuclear weapon, think about the innocent children and women that will be shredded into pieces, think about the destruction of the atmosphere where such weapon will be deployed(remember Hiroshima?). So ya all saying America is this, China is that need to realise that there not so much difference between these countries because they both possess a weapon that is capable of destroying a fraction of humanity. Even Iran's claim for the acquisition of a nuclear weapon to defend itself against US and Israel does not make Iran a saint.....All these countries and their quest for the acquisition a nuclear weapon just goes a long way to show that those people at the corridors of power have failed humanity, the innocent child without food on street of syria, the orphaned child in Somalia and the caring mother in Libya that cannot find her child as a result of the Libyan uprising are affected by the evil decisions of leaders like Obama, Cameron, Ghadafi and the likes. There is a prophecy that before the arrival of Jesus a man will rule the earth and they will be no wars, poverty or injustice......I have a strange feeling his arrival is close by, just like the arrival of ad-dajjal. Islam for Muslims / Re: Do You Observe Your 5 Daily Salat? by tplacid: 11:52pm On Jan 22, 2013 |
First of all I want to say I love you all for Allah's sake even though I have never met anyone of you before. The prophet said 'A believer is a mirror to another believer' the fact that we are sharing our salat experiences just gives me joy that there is hope for this Ummah. However, I realised that being a Muslim is the most difficult decision I have made in life, since reverting to Islam my conscience has been on auto pilot to the deen. When I first reverted it was always very difficult for me to even pray but then I would listen to sermons, read random verses from the Qur'an but then I stumbled upon this verse in Al Mumin(The believers) saying the believers are those that guide their salat(prayers), after I read that verse my salat has been on time and done the best possible manner as prescribed by our beloved prophet(SAW) To all non muslims reading through this thread looking for answers just take your time, have an open mind. If you move one step close the one true God he would move 10 steps to you, yes he loves you that much. This is coming from an ex christian. To my muslim folks trying to pray five times daily take it easy on yourself, it's easier than you think, the first thing you need is intention then read the Qur'an as often as you can, maybe one verse a day or a whole surah a day. Subconcsiosly you will begin to purify your heart, your soul will start to re unite will Allah you will start getting drawn to him in a way that will surprise you. At that point salat will be as easy as breathing, am talking from my personal experience here. Islam is way of life, it's the journey of a lifetime. All you just need to do is have the intention to make that journey, once you do your path will be shown to you. "This day I have perfected your Religion for you, completed my favour upon you and I have chosen for you Islam as your Religion" Salam 6 Likes |

I really do fear for the future of African race cos the young generations of Africans are intellectually weak, mis-educated and above all on the path of self destruction. It's so pathetic that some of us can't read between the lines, our real enemies(the colonialist and imperialist) will be happy at our in ability to see through their plans over the decades. For all of you screaming BH is our problem, Muslims are our problem can you just ask yourself one simple question. How come BH became powerful shortly after America announced the integration of Nigeria? After the assassination of Gadafi the rebels in Mali and Insurgents in Nigeria(BH) increased their killings, could there be a relationship (oh yes there is). I will give you a clue, the world is run by an Imperialist(USA) and they need large amount of resources to sustain the system, resources abound in African and the best way they can exploit the resources is through political assassination, false flag, conspiracies(thank God some you know AIDS/HIV was their creation simply to de-populate Africans so they can have assess to our resources with ease). So if you think Muslims are your problem may God help you, if you think America and the west is on your side ask Palestines, Libyans, Aghfans and Iraqis, if you think GEJ's decision to send troops to Mali is the best can you please explain why he is so bold on that decision and he can't arrest the perpetuators of oil subsidy scam, why has he failed to solve the Boko problem. Just use your God given brain to analyse events and don't just believe what you hear in the Media. Only the truth can set you free. |

Gandhi once said 'I like your christ but I don't like your christians, your christians are so unlike your christ'. It's so sad that a thread for Muslims is populated by Christians accusing Muslims of terrorism and calling our beloved prophet names on a Muslim thread. Am starting to getting a feeling that Some christians are so insecure about their religion which they go to any length to make Islam look like a false religion cos I go to other religion thread and I don't comment so I see no reason why some christians should come here and start negative things about a religion they know nothing about, IMO it's just a show of aggression and ignorance. Sadly, some ignorant Muslims are not helping matters. To all christians I think you think deep and ask yourself some serious questions, if Islam is a religion of terrorist as you claim why are over 1billions Muslims the world over not exterminated all non-Muslims. All the so called terrorist organisation carry out their operations in Muslim populated countries/areas/cities which results in high number Muslim victims(the media will tell you otherwise cos that's what they want you to believe, remember how CNN told the world that Iraq had a WMD but they didn't) Christians call Prophet Muhammed all kinds of names but we Muslims continue to show love and respect for Jesus. However, it's big news if someone in country where Islam is labelled as false religion covert to Islam despite the propaganda, mind control and brainwash. It's new if prominent stars like Thierry Henry, Frank Ribery, Muhammed Ali covert to a religion that is most hated in world. So i implore all christians that hate Islam should realise that if Jesus(AS)and Muhammed(PBUH) they would be best of friends and not get themselves involved in all these name calling done by followers of both prophets. 1 Like |

A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything. There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time. Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery. Fairness is one of the core values of natural law and a value that should be upheld by humans, Achebe, Soyinka and a couple of others have condemned Awo's 'starvation policy' but it will only be fair if the man(Awo) himself can say something about the 'evil policy' but unfortunately he is dead. Since there is no proof or any written document to support this argument I will render it void until I see an evidence to prove otherwise. However, most of us on this forum irrespective of tribe or religion have benefited from Awo's legacy( Free Education, OAU, Roads constructed in the western region, etc) so I think it's normal for us to come up with constructive criticism. Just like some us, Awo might done some bad things but we should let the man rest in peace. Instead of us wasting time and energy on judging one of the greatest Nigerian that ever lived I think we should channel our energy into ways in which our country can be free from tyranny and oppression. Awo fought for independence and left a legacy, it's our duty to honour him by bringing his vision into reality, he hoped and envisioned a Nigeria that works, I see that Nigeria too, I think you should all envision it too. Even Ojukwu, the instigator of the war had this to say 'Awo is the greatest president Nigeria never had'. If Awo did implement that policy I would say it was really inhuman of him but there is no text or document to support the claims of those accusations and if there is I want to say am sorry on behalf of the greatest Nigerian I know and to my Igbo brothers I want to say I deeply regret what happened to your tribe during the war and I want to say am sorry. Now, on behalf of future generations, let's forge ahead and build a nation that will increase their quality of life and thus be proud of. Thank you. 1 Like |

The Nigerian dream; I have spent over 20 years in this country but things continue to get worse, inflation continue to soar high, unemployment rate keeps increasing, mortality rate is on the high, number of uneducated young people is sky rocketing, we produce oil in crude yet we import it refined , insurgents groups arise yearly(before it was MEND now we have boko haram), our leaders have condemned us. But alas! There is a new beginning, change is not going to be from top-down as we all believe, on the contrary it is going to be from bottom-up, this country's last hope is us(Nigerian youths); we are what we have left, we have surmounted challenges over the years, we are all over world solving basic human problems for countries around the world. Now is the time to answer the clarion call, I challenge you to arise my compatriots, the hour is here, the time is now. I have started to make changes in my community - I was involved in a community development project a couple of days ago, i questioned a petrol attendant for charging an illegal N20 because I needed to buy fuel in a keg(I bought the fuel and didn't pay the illegal charges cos I stood my ground). We don't need to do the big things, we need to start small - if over 100million Nigerian youths do small things that are good then victory over our evil leaders is just beginning. Past generations have failed us,we cant fail our children's generation? Do you want to look your child in the eye and tell him how you fought political tyrants and stood for justice during your time and hand over the legacy or birth him to this country and show him hopelessness. I made my decision, It's time for you to make yours. It wont get us anywhere believe me. There is a verse in the Qu'ran that reads he who kills a man is like he has killed the whole mankind and he who saves him is like he has saved the whole of mankind. The countries with the highest number of nuclear harms are USA,China,Russia,Britain and france in that order yet but nobody sees anything wrong with it but if it were to be a muslim country you start calling them all sorts of names. It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra; our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing; our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed. Islamic culture has given us majestic arches and soaring spires; timeless poetry and cherished music; elegant calligraphy and places of peaceful contemplation. And throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality. Please respect this religion and forget about the evil acts of boko haram. |
