Romance / Re: Is It Possible For A Man To Stay Faithful To One Woman Forever? by trustme1: 9:45pm On May 06, 2011
well i have been married for  13 years now and my husband has been and is still COMPLETELY faithful and extremely loving to me. and truth be told , this is majorly due to the fear of God in his life.

he is a multi-millionare and he's gat swag. He also travels far and wide.
one important aspect is the fact that we always talk about the guys/girls that are chasing us. and we learn to understand each other becuz one is bound to face such temptation from outsiders.
he even knows a good number of his friends/ business associates that are faithful to their wives.

he says 'when you put your mind there you will desire to be there'. so he tries to block off such thots. even though a lot of 'em girls try to make advances(i even know some of them). but after a couple of trys, the give up.

many men have fallen(biz wise, healthwise, emotionally and otherwise) becuz of these beautiful ladies backyards and frontyards. a lot of evil lies in there waiting to devour.

it is what you feed your mind with that will ultimately swallow you. feed it with good thots and see the difference that makes.
Music/Radio / Re: I Am Ashamed Of Naija Retarded Music by trustme1: 9:34pm On Apr 03, 2010
there seems to be a continuous recycling of this topic. it is always coming up in different forms.

well, the way i see it is that the 'ajegunle type' and the 'shake it, wine it, dont break it' type of music is always in our face, thus it has become somewhat of a definition of the 9ja music industry. on the radio, on the tv etc its there 24/7, it is highly celebrated. although, once in a while i dance to the music, the monotony drives me crazy.

the truth of the matter is: this generation is a club crazed and a nud.e-craving generation. thats why every d.i.ck, tom and harry must feature the 'half nakeds' b4 they believe they have arrived.

same with our country, although we are blessed with a lot of intellectuals and hard working brilliant people, those that are always in our face, those who represent our dear country and are somewhat celebrated are half-baked corrupt few individuals. they are the ones that give nigeria a very bad name.

and trying to reconcile a club crazed generation with a vision-driven nation is so difficult for me to do. that is why i believe that at this point in time, considering our situation, we need more artists, writers, actors etc that will task our minds more and not our bodies, if we really want to move this country forward.

in view of this, let us consistently praise and celebrate our notable artists. by so doing we will be raising the bar.
Politics / Re: Ibb First Public Apperance Since 1993 by trustme1: 10:17pm On Apr 02, 2010
see, the truth of the matter is if the IBB haters dont fight this, and i mean real action and not just cheap net talk, then the IBB lovers will definately carry the day, and we would still be caught typing our way on net.

IF WE DONT STAND UP TO THESE PEOPLE, THE WILL CONTINUE TO POO POO ON US WELL WELL, AND EVEN GO AHEAD TO FLUSH US DOWN THE TOILET.

IF YOU CANT STAND UP FOR CHANGE THEN SIT DOWN AND , lipsrsealed
after 50 years fa, we still dey here dey complain and nothing more. that is why we will always be looked upon as fools. doing the same thing, year in year out.

sometimes, i wonder if nigerians even deserve to rule themselves
TV/Movies / Re: Do U Still Watch Nigerian Films? by trustme1: 10:23pm On Apr 01, 2010
I still do, though i am very selective.

BUT I WILL URGE NIGERIANS TO START WATCHING AMSTEL MALTA BOX OFFICE FILMS, directed by IZU OJUKWU or so. they are very very good. it is the fresh air many nigerians are looking for from nollywood.

the story lines are perfect and the acting is gbam. and they are always featuring new faces.

pls nairalanders instead of completely criticizing and moving on, why dont we soften our hard criticisms with some constructive solutions. we are all nigerians, and no one can build us up if not ourselves.

LET US BUILD US UP!
Religion / Miracle Working Imams by trustme1: 10:02pm On Mar 22, 2010
I have been wondering of late. do we have miracle workers in the muslim faith? say like prophets or Imams.

if not, nairalanders, why do you think it is so?

if yes, please mention their names.
Family / Re: Best And Worst Marriage Advices by trustme1: 12:32am On Mar 20, 2010
best: always make sure you satisfy yourselves in bed  wink (for many have fallen off the path in search of sexual satisfaction)! not forgetting emotional satisfaction too.

best: Never you sacrifice what you need on the alter of what you want. you can never get a 100% of your heart's desire in marriage. 70 to 80% is what you have at home, the remaining 20 to 30% is what you want and it is found outside, it glitters but it is hardly ever gold.

best: always be ready to forgive and even though it is difficult to forget don't make it a habit of digging up graves that are better left alone.

best: no man is truly married until he understands every word his wife is not saying

best: love is an ideal thing, marriage is a real thing. so even if your wedding is made in heaven, your marriage still has to be maintained on earth!

funny: i luv being married. its so great to find one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life!

worst: dont ever allow ur wife to take upper hand in any argument or quarrel. manufacture a lot of lies and heap it on her, call her a pro.stitue, say u are sure shes having  affairs etc any false accusation will do (for this will make her spend more time trying to defend herself). then, when she breaks down and starts to cry  cry, cuddle her and tell her sorry, that it was a slip of tongue.
Politics / Re: Wole Soyinka Forms Political Party by trustme1: 8:59pm On Mar 19, 2010
let me first thank Dr know and Kilode,  THANK YOU

what is wrong with some of these nairalanders? who, truly, are a good reflection of many Nigerians. Nigerians are born complainers. you do, they complain,  you dont, they complain. what solution have you put beside your criticisms? NONE. really  i dont get it.

what do you people really want? you want to battle over the true meaning of the word 'politician' or do you really want change. do you want PDP to continue to flow unopposed or do you want a party  that can challenge it 'man to man'.
come to think of it, who ma be saint? even you wey dey complain about government day and night, you might even be worse. how many times you don pay your way thru? na only u fit answer that one.

ma point is: wole soyinka is no saint and he does not claim to be one. if he steps into government he will still not be one. he will still have some of his selfish desires to settle. but if he works for the masses, runs an open government, settles some of our aching needs, what more will we want? the fact that fashola, (or amaechi or peter obi)  is working for the people doesnt mean they are completely free of all fraud. they might still be funding their end small small but no one is complaining because eye can see that they are working for the people.
the bottom line is WE ARE TIRED, WE ARE FED UP, WE ARE SICK TO OUR STOMACHS with this political recycling, with unopposed corrupt leadership, with tea drinking and glass clinking and conference-holding politicians. all they are known for is TALK.
corruption will not be cleansed overnight, but people will be held accountable for their actions, they will be made to face the consequences of their actions. that is the beginning.
Wole does not even need to run for any position, i will prefer him bringing on board people that have worked and made an impact in their political endeavours into the party so that they can build an extremely strong opposition and i am not talking about those political pro, stitutes who change parties like they change their underwear.
Education / Re: 98% Of Candidates Fail As NECO Releases NOV/DEC Results by trustme1: 12:43am On Mar 18, 2010
i believe that the major problem is with the teachers. then the students and lastly the parents. why such hierarchy?
many students have seen hard work as a 'crime' cuz the know and appreciate the easy way out (society has made them believe so).
parents are so busy and the want their children to pass at all cost. but the teachers and school administration are the worst culprits cuz the are the last door way to crime and in 9ja, that doorway is wide open.
teachers themselves encourage students to pay for expo materials. organize people to bring the answer materials before the exams. sitting arrangements are made in such a way that dundies sit beside the brainy ones so that the can copy easily. i have witnessed all these.

it really turns ma tummy when i see a teacher who has taken his time to teach you say for 6 years, building you up and advising you in areas of your life , will now turn around and use his left hand to pull you down in a matter of days.
when you know you will still give the person the answer b4 he starts solving the problem, why teach him/her.

the worst is that we dont even have teachers, all we have are politicians in the classroom who are aggressive at lining their pockets. our university system is hardly anything to write about. i have witnessed cases of where the V.C keeps handing out jobs to his 'brothers and sisters' because the hail from same state even when these people hardly got thru in the class. one lady in ma masters class in unijos didn't even know what she was doing in the class but she already had a job as a lecturer teaching the maths she hardly ever understood, cuz she finished with a third class but she was from same LGA with the VC or so.
these students will still get into the universities with their terrible results by paying between 100,000 to 200,000 naira or more depending on where you come from. at least i know that of unijos. its sickening. they sch admin dumps left overs for you in the class and then you as a teacher is required to make them pass! miracle!

I really luv the use of the civil defense corps in these exams(but i hope the wont also fall into the bribe trap). another solution is to have teacher exchange programs during external exams. a couple of teachers from sch A goes to sch B, those from sch B go to sch C, maybe about 5 schools in an exchange circle. so that it will be teachers from sch E that will invigilate students in sch A. I believe this will also help.
Politics / Re: More Heads Ought To Roll With Gov. Jang's Shocking Revelations by trustme1: 12:23am On Mar 12, 2010
mr 18 platoon, i just got to know what almajri really means. but why are you people standing the meaning on its head? why is it turned upside down? if truly it means quest for knowledge, i am certainly sure that the north wouldn't be what it is today.

your people have mostly been at the helm of affairs in this country, and you even boast about some of them. but look at our country, she be 50 years old and she still dey crawl on all fours. even worse, is the fact that you northerners are doing far worse that almost any other tribe. illiteracy is prized, fightings and killings are topping the charts, diseases are ravaging your states. have you thot deeply about these things?
your leaders dont even love you people. all they need from you is to kill and be killed. why do you fight for leaders who find it so difficult to feed you, send you to school but hurry to spill your blood on a platter of religion. please, please, please wake up!!! we may even be your true friends.

i was opportuned to listen to a christina amanpour's interview with the first son and child of a founding hamas member in palestine, on CNN. i was shocked to hear him say and these are his own words 'the true and real enemy of the Palestinian is the god of the quoran' i.e allah! not Israelis, or americans.
he says the average muslim is more intelligent than his own god. that was indeed a revelation. And i reasoned, true! Isreal is supposed to be a blessing to the palestinians. if the had accepted peace, they would be another america. cuz its the jews developing america and many countries in the world. but naaah, you people always think u know berra.

someone here, pointed out who our true enemies are , our leaders. when we want to do business we dont remember religion, everyone is 'my customer'. please, let us look at the common language we speak: nepa, poor health facilities, poverty, no good roads, no job and so on. lets begin to think of visionary leaders that will sail us out of this mess instead of handing over the sword to our children.
Music/Radio / Re: Omosexy Returns With Second Album by trustme1: 2:16am On Mar 03, 2010
for heavens sake, even those who do not come from nollywood offer crap. more than half of non-nollywood naija 'so-called' artists have nothing to offer us except danceable beats choked up with good for nothing lyrics.
if they can offer us such and all we do is dance to the beat and ask for more, then lets not kill omotola.

though i have not heard the song, i strongly doubt that it is worse that many of our naija artists.
if you dont like the song, then you dont like the song, but someone else definitely does.

I doubt if i will like her music, but that does not warrant me saying 'omo, stick to acting and dont ever show face in music again'. it a big world, its a free world. everyone should try what the feel they can do!
if we, as Nigerians had raised the bar in our music industry (instead of swallowing, hook, line and sinker, every junk offered us in music) she may not have surfaced (becuz she will know that she is on a very very loooong thing).
but for now and until then, everything goes. so just let her be!

if we have to criticize, let it be constructive. thats ma piece.
Politics / Re: Pdp Fund Raiser Rakes In N2bn For Soludo by trustme1: 9:19pm On Jan 14, 2010
pls nairalanders lets begin to analyze,
of all the pdp-led states in Nigeria, which has performed well especially when compared to those states that are not governed by  pdp

we all know what PDP represents nation wide. WHY SHOULD THEY ANAMBRA PEOPLE ELECT SOMEONE THAT WILL STEP IN WITH A LOT OF UNCERTAINTIES (SOLUDO) INSTEAD OF ELECTING ONE THAT THEY ARE ALREADY SURE OF (PETER OBI).
at least the eye can see what peter obi is doing but the ear is only hearing what soludo will do.

ANAMBRARIANS WAKE UP!!!

this will be the first major election held this year, lets not begin on a wrong footing. the anambra people should mobilize themselves, come out in their numbers and vote.
I am of the opinion that the anambra ppl should come out with their cameras if possible (good thing say phones get am ) to capture all what will be happening that day. so that if there is any magu magu, the video footing will be concrete evidence.

@SEUN
if possible, i suggest that you should open a kind of  i-report page for all those in anambra, to enable them post pictures, videos and report the election as it is going on, so that nairalanders and the whole of 9ja go see wetin dey happen life!
Politics / Re: Pictures Of Protest In Abuja 12-01-2010(more pictures) by trustme1: 12:26pm On Jan 14, 2010
yeah, it is really a beautiful sight to behold! Is there any holding in Jos. I want to participate.

for voting, I have never really voted becuz of the belief that even if i do it will not change anything, but this time i will cuz i really love this country and i crave for change.

came across this story in the vanguard (8th jan) newspaper. it read 'NO LIGHT , NO PAYMENT!'
the residents of itire and ikate areas in lagos have decided not to pay PHCN a penny if the don't get the required service (which is of course LIGHT!) since they get light for only 1 hr a day. this has been on for three years now .
the communities usually come together to hold meetings and take decisions. they dont allow a single PHCN official in to tamper with their lines. even phcn recognizes that they are losing millions of naira anually from those communities and they have decided to really look into providing light for them.

we can see the power of coming together. the voice of many.

we can also say with one voice, we will not pay PHCN for they do not render any service (except, maybe, if you use the prepaid meter). why are Nigerians paying the government for services they dont get. I for one, believe that PHCN is one of the highest corrupt bodies we have in Nigeria. they charge you any how and they hardly give you the service required(which is so fundamental to our growth as a nation). that is the highest form of stealing

NAIRALANDERS, WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Religion / Re: Where Was God During The Rwandan Genocide ? by trustme1: 2:44am On Dec 02, 2009
@ kay 17

yes He is a loving God who cared so much for you that He allowed His only begotten Son to die, JUST FOR YOU. He cares so much for mankind, believe it or not, it doesn't change the fact!

you wanna rationalize and analyze His love and reasons why this and that happens
my dear you will keep meeting brick wall after brick wall cuz your human mind cannot discern spiritual matters.

and besides, if you dont believe there is a God, why the question 'where was God during the Rwandan Genocide'

you talk about the Israelites and the red sea, hmmm, did you think about the fact that it was after 40 years of slavery in Egypt

God has his own time table, which is in no way similar to ours, unless we are willing to LET HIM LEAD smiley That's all!
Religion / Re: Where Was God During The Rwandan Genocide ? by trustme1: 5:13pm On Dec 01, 2009
MY PEOPLE WHO HAVE DECIDED NOT TO BELIEVE:
God was there when the serpent deceived eve and eve deceived adam,  God was there when cain killed abel, God was there when the world perished in the flood, God was there when the tsunami swallowed thousands of people, God was there when the genocide took place in Rwanda and so many other genocides around the world, God was there when AIDS came into the world, God was there when US experienced the unforgettable 9/11, God was there, God was there, God was there when Christ was nailed to the cross! and God is still here witnessing our politicians embezelling all we have, He is still here watching the rise of corruption etc, etc,
My people God is not man. so no matter how much you analyze or rationalize, u will never understand.
so my advice is: live your life well, don't make same mistakes others have made. IF YOU WANNA BELIEVE, BELIEVE. IF YOU DON'T , DON'T BELIEVE. THE WORLD STILL KEEPS SPINNING!
BUT REMEMBER YOU DID NOT FALL FROM THE SKY
BOTH THE WICKED AND THE GOOD, THE RICH AND THE POOR, THE ATHEIST AND THE BELIEVERS, ARE ALL ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WORLD GOD CREATED! WE CANT QUESTION WHY  UNLESS WE HAVE THE POWER TO CREATE HUMAN BEINGS (which am sure you can answer).

if you only live in the memory of the terrible events around you, then living will be useless. Put it all behind you and move ahead.

this is my piece!!! wink

all of this talk too long, how many times will he fly to dubai or some other foreign country. if the man really needs healing, he should go to prophet T. B. Joshua and receive divine healing and instruction. some one like the prophet is in his own country and he prefers to be flying to and fro. what a pity sad
Music/Radio / Re: Nbc Should Ban P'square "danger" by trustme1: 10:04pm On Oct 27, 2009
yes, the song lacks lyrical content but that should not be a reason to ban the song.
come to think of it, it is a reflection of most of the songs that are played on radio and tv stations. natin to write home about. a lot of cigar and shayo glorification and the 'beauty' of nudity. is that wat we are all about?
think for a moment, even fela dey dance with girls wey dey wear skimpy things but u no go really notice am because of the depth of his song.
radio djs and presenters are also spoiling the music industry. u have an extremely wack song, as long as cash enter hand, dem go make sure say our ears and eyes no rest.
nollywood is supposed to be standing for quality after so many years, but no, becuz pple are still mass producin rubbish and we are consuming every bit. like wise the music industry, rubbish is let out and we grab, as long as it makes us shake buddy, wine waist, club well well. and b4 u know it the person don win award.
not that it is bad to have a good time, but when when it becomes the norm , it a sign that the industry is not movin to the next level.
I believe we nigerians deserve better . tell me , for example if chinua achebe was writin wack , would we be sayin proudly, he is one of our own.as we seek for better response from government, we shd also seek same from from artists, actors etc. so any where any time we can talk about them with no fear . we need pple who can measure up internationally.
In ma opinion, that is one way we are buildin our country and making it a better place
Education / Re: Universities Shut Till January 2010 by trustme1: 8:00pm On Sep 14, 2009
that is why we have to say a big thank you to those who are trying to make the system better
1. cowbell milk company slowly but steadily building a generation of mathematics lovers!

2. Prophet T.B Joshua who doles out scholarships to many young nigerians that would otherwise have become a nuisance due to lack of funds

3. Rochas schools all over the country, making education a reality for the poor

these are a few I can remember for now. if you know of any pls add. Lets recognize and appreciate those who have decided to stand out of the crowd!

Tyra Banks! Tyra Banks!! Tyra Banks!!! and this is why:
her beauty cometh from within (unlike Naomi whose beauty is solely skin deep).
the abundance of Tyra's heart is what everyone in that industry should seek for. and that is the aspect of Tyra that has won me over. Extremely down to earth and always willing to give back cheerfully. Yet she manages to balance both sides of the modeling world extremely well.

gbam!!! the seeker grin
on point! brilliant!! i'm so loving this right now!!! we are hitting the nail on the head with one hammer.
yes, all those GLO people wey the send us messages: 'make u no miss tonite's 1mill o!', 'na wetin u dey wait for, '. mscheeeewww. upon say i get 80pts, i never get even THANK YOU. angry

where have they all been since their biz started boomin in 9ja. they partake mainly in entertainment biz, making 1 in a million 9jerians millionaires but extorting hundreds of thousands from all 9jerians.

I SAY TO GLO, MTN, ETISALAT, MULTILINKS, ZAIN etc make our educational system a wonderful one by giving back. it wont take much, instead of givin that 1 mill to one person, use it to touch many lives through quality education. at least for a change, set up libraries, labs, hostels etc. these are projects that truly make a lifetime difference in people's lives AND I NO THINK SAY ANY PROMO PASS THAT ONE!!!

prayers are not enough, we must back it with action. and i believe this is one way, the strength of ONE VOICE.
the truth is that it's like we have given up on people power in 9ja cuz of all those terrible people occupying all the positions upstairs and those upstairs believe that we are only niose makers, nothing more. But it took people(the masses) to effect a change in india and other countries that could not even smell 9ja's shoes b4

black revo, well said! writing a report after filtering in all the opinions is a fantastic idea and one that should be carried out.

WE MUST, AS A MATTER OF URGENCY, FIGHT THIS CANCER THAT IS RAVAGING OUR WHOLE SYSTEM.
Education / Re: Universities Shut Till January 2010 by trustme1: 8:15pm On Sep 12, 2009
@ the seeker
Yes you have made very important points and I completely agree with you. This has compelled me to chip in my own bid: to bare my mind.

I have kids and I don’t want them going through what I am going through in the pursuit of education. Well said: education is way more than reading books and passing exams, that is just a part of what education is all about, but that’s a very very important aspect.
That is why many students go the extra mile which include the use of chips and even paying lecturers just to obtain a ‘pass’ grade and b4 u know it they are working in a bank or some other high top organization.

Now I am stating this as a matter of fact, to give readers a bird’s eye view and to buttress my points further. But I wont really mention names.
I graduated with a first class (and all the plenty fine fine prizes wey dey attached to such never still reach me till today and truly me I no get the strength to fight for am. Ma point: cheap talk. and sometimes it kills) and finished masters as the best student in MATHEMATICS in my set. I love lecturing (and I hate bank jobs) and I have lectured in one polytechnic in the north, there I was subjected to nothing but; as I love to put it, ‘academic torture’. It would have been better if I had worked for free!
Now, guess what!? I am still looking for a job from where I graduated from and from the university where I completed my masters, I still have to stand in line, meeting those ‘wey sabi person’, if you understand the drift, in order to get a lecturing job! I have also written to other universities but the strike has put everything on hold though I am particular bout the schools I finished from. At least I know that the latter is lacking in mathematics lecturers. But instead of them to gree give me job on merit dem go prefer to give ‘their person’, even if ‘their person’ no know wetin e suppose do for class.

It is so sad, over seas some one like me would have lecturing jobs and scholarships to choose from, as it is evident from 2 guys I know who also graduated with first class. They were given scholarships immediately and lecturing jobs. You might say my case is an exclusive one, but I doubt that much. There are, I’m sure, other Nigerians that are going thru same or similar situations. But I still love my country, I don’t wanna go out even though I have means of jiving out. I want to be a part of the change that we all need. Call it love wan tin tin but that’s just how I feel.

That aside, I agree with you that we have good intelligent lecturers, but I have to say that I doubt if they make up to 1/3 of the teacher population in Nigeria. WHY should I make such comment?:
1. corruption has become the bedrock of our society and the academic sector is not left out. Many good teachers have succumbed to corruption and they sell out grades. You either pay in cash or kind. And as we all know, many students don’t have a problem with that.
2. because students are no longer interested in reading or exercising their brains, you find out that we can hardly apply what is taught in class: it’s they exercises the teacher gives you in class or in handouts, that is exactly the way it will come out in exams. So all you need do is cram and cram and cram to pass. Little wonder why many students on this forum can’t analyze issues
3. can any lasting, reliable ‘material’ come out of a ‘cram to pass mentality?’ when a course that’s supposed to expose the student to a wide variety of academic material and the internet only ends up compressing him/her into a 15 to 30 page document where everything is paraphrased.
4. and these are the same students that will end up as teachers in a few years to come.
5. you will find a lecturer teaching you exactly what he learnt 15 years ago: no addition, no subtraction. When they do not research or find others ways of solving a problem, it becomes a problem. Now, I ask, do you need research grant to enable you find new ways of teaching a particular topic.
6. becuz of the condition of service, many of our good teachers are trooping out in droves to other countries in search of greener pastures.
7. I know that the teacher cannot teach you everything, infact it’s only a small percentage of knowledge you can obtain from a teacher, but let lecturers start teaching in a way that push the students into exercising their own brains. It may be difficult at first with this generation of ‘I don’t care’ students who seek only to have fun, but the future will be filled with academic riches and merit will be merit.

The other day I heard that only about 30% or less passed the recent WAEC. What a mess! But you would still find a good number of those from the remaining failed 70% in one of our universities. What will you be teaching such kinda students? how will they understand? But they will still pass. Na Magic? I remember one incident when I was asked to set exams, the exam officer and some other lecturers were taken aback by my questions. The alarm: ‘this is too difficult for the students, the will not pass it o! Better set the ones that they will pass so that you will be seen as a teacher whose gat the stuff.’ But is that how it should be?

That is why I am of the opinion that apart from the ASUU and FG thug of war, there should be strike within the university system itself. What good will it be, if we have say, a fortified science lab with all the necessary equipments and a student who could not make even one credit in his/her papers.

Now back to ASUU: the first issue on ground. FG sign the agreement.
But the second issue which worries ma mind more than the first is: ‘Will the fund, when released, land for ground?’ as some of my friends will say.
Takes me back to the corruption problem:
I do not know if there are checks put in place by ASUU to monitor such funds when they become available abi they are waiting to get to the bridge before the cross it (typical 9ja mentality). I wont be surprised if the money is sucked up by say maybe the vice chancellor or some other unknown money suction pumps straight into the bank accounts of some pen robbers leaving the students and the system worse than before.

It is indeed so sad! OUR UNIVERSITY SYSTEM. To me, FG is like the outer lining but the inner lining is so rotten, I dare say and it aches ma heart.
