But I've been wondering, how is football being run in communist countries like north Korea and China without,"government interference"?

Why has FIFA not banned them?

Those guys are 1000 times smarter that the dullards in our government and will know how to make everything appear like the association is independent by having strong and loyal party men 'elected' as leaders of their football bodies (election in parenthesis).
If those guys mess up, the party can have them jailed on Trumped up charges that have nothing to do with football and by FIFA statue, the criminals will then have to be removed by the 'independent' FA and life continues.
An APC Government that allowed Saraki to steal SP from right under their noses cannot execute any meaningful plan. And Dalung is not the smartest member of that crew.

Next phase is to Depopulate them and Disperse them.... we wont tolerate any further gang-up in Yoruba land.

So, What next do Igbos want to boast about, so that we can trounce them again?
I can see a lot of them shitting in their pants now! grin

The Igbo must consciously set out to put the Yoruba (their hosts in Lagos) at ease by correcting that impression.

How exactly are the Igbos to do this?
chrisbaba1:
I don't mean to be tribalistic... But on a real I think its time Yoruba let igbos understand (non violently) that they are accommodated in lagos does not mean they own it... This is the sad transition igbos have gradually forged us to take because of the impunity of many towards the yorubas, our land and culture.... That welcoming accomodating host nonesense has to be re-evaluated to preserve our identity as they preserve theirs every where in the east....... If regards of our land nd culture won't be given then why remain so tolerant?

Dude, nobody dey drag the land with you. and highlighted portion of your message is being made clear to Igbos every friggin day in this state.

All this ethnic crap is politicians raising dust so they can get what they want 'Power'!

In 6 months time some other macrbre dance will capture the attenton of all and this episode will be forgotten.

Sorry folks, the jamboree ended a long time ago.
I work in the epayments space and the minute we noticed this trend a few months back, some proactive banks tweaked their systems to stop cross currency flows across the switch.

The only cross currency flows allowed are using your NGN cards to transact offshore.

it was an oversight on the part of the banks and Interswitch (quicktellers owners).

while it lasted it even exposed them to possible regulatory sanction.

Cheers.

Family / Re: Which Is Better: Boy Or Girl As First-born? by turkish(m): 11:20am On Jan 08, 2014
@Op. If your MIL truly said that and was serious and sober when she did, "your own don finish for that marriage be that". I love my mum and she knows that staying outta my bizness is the best way foward. In laws and extended family are the primary cause of marital discord in this country. When you xray further, you will even see that that number two cause 'adultery' is most of the time brought about due to issues surrounding number one cause. In this country the family you're marrying into seems to be more important than who you marry.

Education / Should ASUU Compensate The Nation For Losses During The Strike? by turkish(m): 5:28pm On Dec 11, 2013
First lets get some stuff clear.

I have a parent who is a long standing academic (30 yrs 15 of them as a professor) with one of the premier federal universities.

By Nation I mean the citizens and general populace and not the government.

By citizens I mean the following sets;

Families that lost loved ones who died as a consequence of the strike (accidents on way to or fro school, armed robbery attacks, etc)

Maybe if we can stretch it, other non direct consequences like...missed opportunities due to inability of students to complete their programs as scheduled.

I had this thought after considering the fact that these people (My Parent included) will be paid their salaries for the 6 months they were not working.
We all know that staff costs constitute the single biggest charge on the books of any educational institution so the schools will have to commit those resources for half a financial year without any value.
For those of us with business brains, we know that very few businesses can survive such a hit. Yet this is the reality that will confront the schools. Granted, Government Universities are not businesses in a manner of speaking but you catch my drift.

So I ask should ASUU as a body set aside a portion of their salaries for those 6 months to compensate those negatively affected?

OR

Do you think people should sue them for compensation under such situation?

All my dress shirts and most of my pants (save for jeans, sweatpants, tracks n d like) are all made by an Aba based dude. My only complaint arise when he places foreign designer tags on the clothes. So no issue wearing 'aba made'. I also own a couple of Aba loafers and drivers and I must say they are pretty cool and I love the looks on ppls faces when they learn they are made here.

TV/Movies / Re: Why Are Nollywood Movies Always So Delusional? by turkish(m): 1:45pm On Dec 08, 2013
I think the point is being missed here. I've seen some well made nollywOod films eg. The amaka igwe flicks of yore where the right props were used to depict some scenery example, middleclass family living in what passes for an actual middleclass naija neighbourhood and driving the right cars. The plot of Hollywood flicks as compared to reality is false and laughable is some instances, but that is the point of a movie in the first place. Potraying figments of ppls imagination. Nollywood with all the native doctors and stuff is trying to do the same. In the end, as much as I don't see a lot of nollywood flicks, I still doff my cap for them and what they are able to achieve with limited resources. I suggest that maybe some of the talent that works on our music videos can maybe see how they will bring their expertise to nollywood. Also our producers should nto overreach when they adopt some stories for production. Eg. You don't need to pull off a political thriller involving the president when u know that securing resources to factually depict it will be difficult. U can scale smae story down to the level of a village council or local governemnt power struggle.
Long live nollywood.

I wonder why nobody has noticed the fact that on a forum for basketball, the conversation managed to shift to football.

Is Football the only sport?

What about funding for the development of these sports?

What about funding for the development of school sports?

I believe that a sound school sports system will see us going places at international sporting events and also general all round development of our youths.

what happens if wise Bianca sells the land and then marries?

Its land in the village, Land in the village especially anambra state only has sentimental value.

meaning: it could be worth N1billion to an indigene but take it to any valuer and the value is closer to N500,000.

Thats why banks hardly grant loans to indigenes eg. an onitsha Man or Awka man cant give me his land in onitsha as collat even if all his neighboring landlords are from outside onitsha.
