Politics / Patience Jonathan Appointed Perm. Sec By Bayelsa Governor by tushutt(m): 1:21am On Jul 12, 2012
Wife of Nigeria’s President, Dame Patience Jonathan, has recorded history as the First Lady of the country to be appointed Permanent Secretary in a state civil service.

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State approved her appointment and seventeen others into the state civil service on Wednesday in Yenagoa, the state capital.

Also prominent among those appointed is Linnet Tebepah, wife of the current Chairman of NDDC, Tarilah Tebepah.

Others include J.E. Oye, Samson Ayibeboa, Antonia Koroye, Ziwari Billie, Buruboyefa John, Dikuro Ayebameh, Serge Williams, Olu Kuruom, G.I.Izein, Philomena Alodie, Omietimi Kojo, Ese Izonebi, Ohougha Maythias, James Clinton, Moses Teibowei, A. Samanyi and Vivian Odiowei.

Patience’s appointment as Permanent Secretary is already generating public discussions in bars and government circles within Yenagoa even as some political appointees are claiming ignorance on the development.

Head of Service, Gloria Izonfuo who signed the announcement broadcast on the state radio station, 91.7 Glory FM, stated that by the constitutional power conferred on the governor in section 203 (2) (c) , Jonathan’s wife and seventeen others had been elevated to the position of Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, confirmed that the wife of the President was elevated to the position of a Permanent Secretary and that it was a routine action in the civil service.

i would like to see an e-exam system with a text to speech capability plugged into it which would attach a report of every word you uttered during your exam along with your papers or which would freeze your time if you mentioned certain censored words like 'number 5' tongue tongue tongue and the likes i dont know but i think we the brains on nairaland can develop this for an org like JAMB or WAEC
believe me our exam halls would be as silent as a grave yard grin grin grin

and also that would be goodbye to exam malpractice

Good day peeps please I would like to ask for relevant places where I could do my IT in Nigeria. I mean where I can actually get to practice my Cauchy and Riemann theorems or probably apply operations research techniques etc
Or would it be more rewarding if I intern in an info tech company coz that's where my passion lies. ( not too sure of the relevance anyway)
Please your inputs are highly appreciated

pc guru:

Before Setting Up for Zend Development
1. Before Setting up Zend Framework u will need an Apache Server running PHP 5.3 to be on the safe side though 5.2.8 will work its advisable to get Zend Server as it comes with Zend Library and the Zend Tool a batch script that sets your project for you.

2. After installation of Zend Server, go to Command Prompt and type "zf.bat" if nothing happens or it shows unknown command, you will have to go into the Zend/Xampp Folder and look for zf.bat u can use the search but Xampp keeps its in the php folder and Zend Server keeps its own zf.bat in the ZendServer/share/bin/ folder so all we need to do is too add this to the ENV_PATH in Control Panel ->System/ Environment Variable add this to Path.close and start the command prompt and type zf.bat

3. it will display some command lines for Zend to creste a project enter your Apache Server Directory where your sites get hosted by using the cd command then type zf.bat create project NameOfProject and it create a skeletal Zend Framework Project and u are good to go from here. next time we'll look at directory structure. got to sweep the house grin.

please can you help me with a detailed expalnation of how to succesful install zend i followed some online instructions and i ended up ruining my apache configuration. i had to reinstall it and since then didnt even bother to try it out again

i was able to get the zf.bat to work in the cmd but i couldnt access the default hmpage for the zf_tutorial

Politics / Re: FBI takes over UN bombing investigations, sidelines Police, SSS by tushutt(m): 4:08pm On Aug 29, 2011
ncpat:

As at this stage one can`t really do anything cos in this situation FBI only make use of evidence around like finger print which is scanned and search into the country`s data base which nigeria don`t have, they also make use of cctv to know possible picture of who makes the move and it will be a shame if such is not planted around the un building cos i know in us embassy and israel embassy here in nigeria is surrounded by cctv

let me see if i can help here:

i heard that the car that bombed the un building ran down the first and second gate, if this is true that means un shares a blame here for not making a strong gate.

if the stery of the car has not been destroy by the incident, let they do a forensic on it and check with NCC data base for possible match since have started registration of sim card. they may be lucky the has registered his/her sim and have his/her data with NCC and they can also check with INEC since they have data base of VOTERS and also check with civil registrar of national ID and also if the UN cctv picks the reg. no. of the vehicle, they can check with internal revenue for the owner of the reg. no. i think this how far who ever can go and let the NCC immediately deactivate unregister sim and also let the FG start to issue social security number so as to have data base of all nigerian.

U go fear forensic analyst na grin grin

Which country are you from undecided

Ovularia:

“FBI operatives and other foreign experts have been taking part in investigations into the bombings in the country from the October 1, 2010 incident to the June 16, 2011 Force Headquarters blast. Yet, they have not been able to provide any useful lead that could help us to apprehend the masterminds.

“Remember that after the two incidents, the team gathered some evidence from the blast scene which they took to their labs in the United States, but nothing has been heard about the result of the analyses till date,” the police officer said.

The security chief explained that the results of forensic analysis usually did not take more than 24 hours, adding that the nation’s security agencies had been kept in the dark since then.

On the speculation that the security agencies had advance warning of the bombing, the police officer said he was not aware, but added that security agencies would have foiled it if it was true that they had advance warning.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olusola Amore, declined to comment on the development. He said he was on leave. When contacted, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Moshood Jimoh, also declined to speak on the investigation, stressing that releasing information might jeopardize the ongoing probe.

Lagosians are advised to stay off the Third Mainland Bridge and surrounding areas. Unconfirmed report says terrorists plan to bomb Lagos within 24 hours of bombing the UN building in Abuja. This information comes from 1st suspect arrested in connection with the Abuja blast. The law enforcement agencies are working to thwart the latest threat. Military roadblocks and other emergency and security measures might result in traffic congestion. The use of alternative routes is strongly advised.

Fashion / Re: Should There Be A Law On Indecent Dressing? by tushutt(m): 11:31am On Aug 19, 2011
xynerise:

The rate of indecent dressing is increasing in Nigeria. The number of guys and gals showing off their underwear is becoming unbearable even inside the church. There should be a law that states that anyone seen in such appearance will be giving 24 strokes of cane by any policeman or military men that caught them. This I believe will reduce it. I know people will criticize this thread. grin

In arsene you trust grin grin grin

I actually think the Arseholes would end this season fighting for a place in the europa league. No amount of players bought can actually repair the psychological damage done to the chikened brained players you have after the sale of fabregas and inevitably nasri. Imagine carl jeckinson a player playing in league one last season would be the first choice left back for the crucial udinese tie. eheheh DI NATALE!!!! and even against liverpool eheheh SUAREZ!!! your strikers cant even kick a ball and the only players who would stand out this season are going to be injury- prone R.Van Persie and jack wlshere(I love this guy) wink. undecided

do you really want me to giv eyou a full synopsis of how you season will turn out grin grin grin
