Health / Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by ucheawesom: 11:28pm On Sep 26, 2010
thanks doc.i thought as much.
please aproximatley how long does it take to heal in such cases?I have really slowed down so much these days in order to heal properly.
Also, are there any activities or positions i need to avoid in order to hasten healing.
Finally, this prescription,is it for pain relief or to aid the healing process?
Thanks in advance.

please can u recommend any solution for me?
Family / Re: Men How Do You Feel When You Hear "it's A Girl"? by ucheawesom: 2:35am On Sep 14, 2010
It is a pity that all this talk is going on.
u guys should know that u are responsible for the sex of ur kids.
If it is a boy its u and a girl u of course.
All this talk abt the woman being under pressure has no meaning to me.
Unfortunately it is africa and anything is the woman.U can divorce as much as 10 women but until u produce that male factor u will keep having girls. The earlier u accept that the better. If u so desire a son give the woman a son and stop telling us how impt it is. If u cant just accept thats the best u can do.

Maybe women should start putting pressure on guys for a male child, because it is all their fault.Imagine a woman that so desires a boy and some yeye guy cant give her a baby boy and some people are talking abt the woman being under pressure,is it her fault?the guy shoud hide his face in shame and not disturb the poor woman.

All these men making noise here. How many women here 7do u see complaining abt this?
Most women do it and i am yet to someone who complains but den our men are now fault finders. For every little issue they will come up with the ridiculous excuse fo women lib
For the person talikg abt love making position,i rdie my man alot of times, does that mean i am not submissive or may he is under me?
u guys tire me wt your self righteous attitude.

Homerac read before posting, ladyjide is not complaining abt it it.u men have filled ur head wt all sorts of trash that no matter what women are saying u dont read or hear but go on wt ur arguements abt submission and no submission.
Family / My Husband Spends Money A Lot by ucheawesom: 4:35am On Jul 20, 2010
Well, my husband just spends a lot for our good.
True,he spends money on the things he feels are good for his home and he knows his wife will love to have.
But the problem is dat right now we are kinda low financially and need to moderate our spending.
Unforunately a lot of times my husband forgets dis.
i used to tell him but some time ago he bought me some presents and i did some mental calculation on the cost and told him he could have left that stuff as it was too costly, but his face went down and he went on to tell me that he goes out and buys the things he knows i love and will make our home good and i complain rather than appreciate him.i had to stop dat.

Recently we agreed on the amt of money to spend on a car and off he went o get it.Suprisingly he came bak only tell me he spent an extra 1000dollars for it.I said thats quite much and he said yes but that good stuff.i said ok.
The following day he came home and told me he was doing some maths and found out he had spent too much on the car and we might end up not having money for our rent that was due in a few days.I didnt know wat to say.
Fortunatly,we had some stuff we have been trying to sell and some one came and bought dem and we raised money.
Now i am just thinkling if not for dat we would have been stranded and we will be in trouble.

i think this needs to stop cos if not sooner or later we will be in some real trouble and i dont want dat.how do i go abt dis without sounding likeĀ  a nag?

Pls all,
I am in the process of applying for tha Canada permanent residency for someone right now.
we have arranged for the Language test.
Now my questions are:

she is a nurse (RN) trained in Nigeria.Has been working in that capacity for close to two years now.
Which category of the application shld i apply(federal skilled or highly skilled) category?

I read from the canada website that they accept a maximum of 20000 application per year and select a maximum of 1000 per occupation in the federal skilled category.
Now i want to ask is there any a particular time that one needs to apply in order to meet up with this maximum limit of application to be accepted?

I will appreciate ur contribution.

@ Tunnytox

i like the way u speak.
Many times our nigerians abroad fail to give a true picture of the situation of things in their respective bases to would be immigrants.
They only give the positve picture but fail to talk on the negative.I guess t is all because of the fact that any attempt to warn people of the possible challenges might earn then the name bad belly and other things like once they get there they dont want one else to come so they will discourage dem.
I remember when we left for the US,we only heard of how US is a land of opportunity and so on and so forth without anybody mentining the challenges we might face as beginners.i read so much and tried to call my husbands attention to some of my findings but they were saying i was being pessimitic.
As a result we did some things that we may not have done were we well informed.
A few months into our saty my hubby realised he shld have listened to me.

@ hot stepper, everything just boils down to our persornal preferences as well as aspirations.Just like u said there is no perfect place.
Each country has their good and bad and it is left for each individual to make a choice.

that said i must confess some people so praise canada to the high heavens that it seems there are no challenges to be faced there.
Travel / Re: COMING TO CANADA??? Choose British Columbia by ucheawesom: 1:22am On Jul 05, 2010
Hi Medlabgirl,
I live in the US but y are really making me fall in love with canada.
i dont know muc abt the place but the things i have read makes me feel like i shld start making plans to come over.
So tell me any advantage of being in canada over US?
Again if i have degrees from US am i up to canada standards?

Lastly,my kid sister is a nurse in nigeria(nigeria trained) with 2 yrs experience and i am planning to apply for the canada immigration something for from here.
Can she fit in right away or will she have to upgrade too? Also wat steps shld i take, can i do the application from US?

@mutter,
wat makes killing of twins babaric. It is all part of the culture u uphold.Pls u have to uphold it 100%.
I think it is hypocritcal to uphold it wen it suits u and call it babaric wen it doesnt.I guess if the evil u defend in the name of cultue shld come to u,u will not find it funny.

as for me,i dont support cheating from any side. cheating is cheating be it from the man or woman.

Poster the choice is urs.she is wrong, totally wrong.
She even had the guts to ask her husband why he was making her life miseable.Imagine.
i guess she expected u to kip ur eyes shut while she kips on wt her evil acts.
Family / Re: He Married Me For Papers by ucheawesom: 5:34am On Jul 02, 2010
u guys shld kip ranting abt the value of the male child.
Remenber there are so many aspects of these cultures u praise.
It supported the killing of twins, make women sleep wt husbands dead body, and a whole lot of inhumane acts.
i hope u will aslo try to find justufication for these things.i guess they are also moral and so on.
A situation where a woman builds with the husband den when he is deceased some one comes in from now eher and takes over everything i guess we shld all be glad for dat.
i am tired of people trying to defend such silly acts in the name of culture.
it makes no sense at all.
Family / Re: Betrayed By : by ucheawesom: 5:23am On Jul 02, 2010
Mutter,
Shame on u.that tradition that u are so much promoting andm singing abt is the same tradition that supported the killing of twins,it is the tradition that also makes a woma sleep wt her husbands corpse and allows the relatives to carry all the deacesaed propery and leave the wife and kids to suffer.
The person that says adultery is worse thing wen committed by a woman citing the bible incident,do u remember wat Jesus told those men, they had no right to accuse her cos they were not sinless.u guys shld stop excusing men infidelity in the name of culture.it is wrong for men to sleep around get HIV and trasmit to women bcosw of culture.

Poster,if u can forgive fine,if u cant move on.As for me,i dont know if i can deal wt dis. even as a woman.i dont think i can cope wt the trouble of wondering wat is going on each time he is away from me.
the choice is urs poster.
Health / Re: How Do I Correct Bow Leg In A Baby by ucheawesom: 4:55pm On Jun 24, 2010
Ok.
Thanks everyone.

@Rokiatu,I indeed hate bow leg that much.I have noticed my 13 months old leg is bowed since she started walking at 9 months and had expected it would have corrected by now but so far it hasnt and i was getting really concerned.

I read in a book that bow legs is caused by lack of vitamin D and is more common in bosom fed kids cos the bosom milk lacks sufficient vitamin D.In fact, the article says such babies shld be given vitamin D supplements till they are on formula.
I guess this is where i missed it cos she was exclusively breastfed.
Anyway,i believe dat at 13 months there is lots of room for improvement so long as i do the right thing hence the question.

Thanks all for your contributions.

Travel / Re: Dv 2010 Winners Need Your Advice by ucheawesom: 3:07pm On May 30, 2010
I may be wrong but i thought that since he is a derivative that the embassy is not so much concerned wt his info, but rather the wifes info as the pricipal applicant.

Again,u said in the !st NL that KCC sent his name was wrong, how can his name even be in the 1st Nl if they got married after the wife played.Certainly, the guys name cant be in the 1st NL,rather its after she has received the NL that they complete the immigration forms including the husband since he was not originally included in the DV application.
I say this cos i have been there .

finally like someone has pointed out,the embassy distrusts all the marriages after the DV.the same thing happend to me.I won sinlge, included my husband and believe me it was really tough but after many interviews they were convinced. My hubby and i were more than prepared, again we have been together for 4 yrs b4 dat so we knew each other so well that we were not caught off guard.
Additonally i must tell that of all the many ppl that got married after winning the DV only two were granted. The rest were rejectd so weigh ur options very well.
all the best
Family / Re: MNM by ucheawesom: 2:11am On Apr 22, 2010
I heard abt a man who did rhe same thing. He put away his wife cos she had 3 girls.Unkown to him the wife was pregnant at that time.
Meanwhile,he went ahead and married the woman that will give him the male child he needs.
Alas wife numberone that was sent away put to bed a set of twins both boys, while wife number two in due course had a set of triplets all girls.
the husband met the first wife at the clinic where she went to immunize their sons and guess wat happened
he went back to her pleading.
ur friend might end up getting many more girls from the elsewhere.Cos everything depends on him.

BTW wen are we ladies going to start blaming the men for not giving us sons/daughetrs?
Everything that happens in the home the woman bears the blame.
I tire

thanks pittbaby.
Fact is she doesnt really meet up wt all those criteria.
Husband is late,no big bank balance, though she has a biz.

she has kids 4 kids that are doing good in nigeria and has really advanced in age.
My plan is just for her to help me with my new baby, the cultural two/three months thing wt the new born and go bak.i have no intention of her using her as a live nanny or make her overstay.

Any more suggestions?

this my husbands experience.

wen we first arrived US we were facing all the many challenges that the average new comer has.No job and broke .at sometime.

One day,We needed to buy somethings from the shop and had no money except for tthe coins wc were mostly the pennies.
My husband picked the items he wanted from the shop and carried his bag of coins to the cashier to pay.
they counted kept counting piling and packing away the coins and other customers queued up looking pitifully at him.
When the coins completed he mad et to leave and a elderly white lady dashhed him a dollar note.
