Jakumo: Buhari's new low of calling for his almajiri mobs to kill those they "judge" to be riggers is shockingly primitive. The man is a disaster, absolutely lacking in basic civility and morality. |

Any almajiri that takes the law into their hands needs dealing with. More importantly, those behind the primitive act need be brought to face the full might of the law; it wouldn't be a shock if it is found that they are the people behind the bombs in Jos as well. What sort of animal sends kids to endanger their lives by attacking the Presidents motorcade? These are kids who need love and the warmth of caring homes, but instead are being used as expendable fodder by evil politicians and creatures of the dark. |
Politics / Police Arrest 15 Over Attack On Jonathan’s Convoy by Udevex: 11:57pm On Mar 12, 2011 |
Police Arrest 15 Over Attack On Jonathan’s Convoy Written by Ishola Michael, Gombe Saturday, 12 March 2011 Gombe State Police Command has announced the arrest of 15 suspects in connection with the attack on President Goodluck Jonathan’s convoy in Gombe, last Thursday, during the PDP presidential rally. The Police Public Relations officer of the Gombe State Police Command, ASP Ahmed Doma, disclosed this on Friday in a telephone interview with Saturday Tribune. Stones were allegedly thrown at the president’s convoy during his presidential campaign to the state, just as Ahmed Doma disclosed that a group of unruly youths also set bonfires in Bolari and Jekadari areas of the state capital during his presidential campaign rally in the state. The police spokesman also said that 13 of the suspects had been charged to court while two of the suspects, who are minors, were sent to remand homes and advised members of the public to be law-abiding at all time. Rampaging youths had, a day before, attacked the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Office in the state located along Bauchi road on the day the Congress for Progressive Youths (CPC) presidential candidate visited the state. http://tribune.com.ng/sat/index.php/news/3568-police-arrest-15-over-attack-on-jonathans-convoy.html |

deezzle: Elites don't vote. The real voters are, carpenters, drivers, hunters, rewires, vulcanisers, meat sellers, shoemakers, mai guards etc. Campaigning specifically to non-voters on private TV channels, people who have the tools of information at the finger tips, is a grossly misplaced priority. |
Politics / Re: Vice Presidential Debate - What Do You Think As You Watch by Udevex: 11:07pm On Mar 12, 2011 |
deezzle: Thats exactly why instead of Bakare making "we will aircondition all villages" style promises, he should have started with how. I recall him saying, "we will equip the hospitals with equipment, we will ensure there are drugs. . ." Before "equip the hospitals with 'equipment'" one would have thought he would say how much govt would set aside for health, where the money would be coming from and what steps would be taken to firewall it against budgetry poachers and the slippery fingers of corruption. Magic and miracles have no place in government. We want to know, where, when and how. TV debates are a waste of Nigerians time, let those guys get on the campaign trail and tell us what they can do, and tell it to us in very concrete terms. |

Politics / Re: Vice Presidential Debate - What Do You Think As You Watch by Udevex: 10:50pm On Mar 12, 2011 |
I'm surprised this thread is even running. We had three empty men bashing PDP, making sky high promises without telling us how they will be acheived, reading from prepared notes for the simplest questions and wasting viewers time. It was a very low grade affair that I had to force myself through in the vain hope that a nugget would drop at some point. None did. Oyegun was as expected, mr average, feeling lucky to be on the podium and speaking like he was at a family meeting. Bakare was a disgrace, his delivery was jumbled, shoddy and name-dropper style, he spoke with a false accent and a false lisp. Why in God's good name, would a healthy adult pretend to be disabled? Adeola was the most sincere, but he was grossly unprepared and shambolic, he even had to read 100% of his answer on what he thought the job of VP was. With all that reading, the questions were clearly sent ahead of time. Shame on the 3 aspirants. IMHO, the TV debates are a waste of everyones time. |

Genbuhari3: Why would you think anybody has forgotten that Buhari is a red eyed sharia crazed bigot? lol! Nobody has forgotten that, we make our point and move on, thats what intelligent people do. Every single man woman and child knows the story, its on every last voters mind, so why beat it? Don't deceive yourself about it. Buhari has already apologised for the thuggish behaviour of his followers (little better can be expected from almajiri's), but the violence, burning and killing continue. In what country have you heard they throw stones at their Presidents motorcade? Is it a lack of home training? Buhari advised his followers to kill anybody the judged to be riggers. 5 people were killed in Kaduna, because they knew better than to say, "sai Buhari," they knew better than to hail visionlessness and stone throwing. Every last one of these things re-inforce the dark image sharia zealotery has already given Buhari. Dude, Buhari and his followers have been warned, you guys better tone it down, cos you come acroos as very negative, threatening, unable to converse normally and violent. An almajiri might want to dawn that aura, but it is no good for educated people who should be smart and intelligent. You people have created an image others shrink away from, live with it and make corrections. |

apoti: Don't you people have anything to campaign about, instead of reciting the same words over and over like a scratched record? The funny thing is the utter pointlessness of the words. GEJ will win easily, the only place Buhari has any numbers is in the NE, while GEJ is spread all over, so whats the noise about? The most likely person to think of rigging is Buhari, he already has many more thugs and goons than al pacino could ever dream of, he even has govnorship candidates who are held on suspicion of bombing. Please vacate this space jare! |

Sponsored article without any source. GEJ has the Sultan of Sokoto, who is bigger than that in the North? GEJ cannot be deceived by Buhari's crowd of almajiri's that he can easily switch as he likes; almajiri's are directed by their bellies and a few religious words for justification. lol At the dirtiest, almajiri's are for sale. |

I wonder why people keep deceiving themselves. The SW will vote GEJ overwhelmingly, forget about what internet warriors that don't even know where MMA is. lol Votes in Oyo will go massively PDP and the most densely populated parts of Lagos (eg Ajegunle) will vote massively for GEJ. The average rewire and vulcaniser has never heard of Buhari and will never vote Ribadu. So, who is looking to cut deals from some phantom position? lol! Cut deals with who anyway? With a drug pusher? ^ Interesting! If most Buhari supporters were like you, nobody would be buckling down to take any actions necessary to rid Nigeria of the scourge of primitive politics. Most Buhari supporters feel it is best to abuse, be violent and thuggish. Maybe you should consider what you support, or move to Ribadu, if you are really impressed by hip-shooting types; even better, swing to GEJ. Earlier, this week presidential candidate of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) the former military Head of State, Gen. Buhari was reported in the media as having urged people to instantly kill anyone they found rigging. Governor of Edo State, the former fiery labour union leader, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was also reported to have urged a similar, lynch-at-the-spot approach to polls manipulation. And there are many more advocates of this approach especially among opposition party leaders. http://www.compassnewspaper.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2119:-landmines-against-post-election-nigeria&catid=302:opinion&Itemid=573 Buhari, by his thuggish approach, has become the greatest danger to the corporate existence of Nigeria. It is ok if he wishes to take his people away into the desert sands, but he will be faced frontally and decisively if he and his cohorts attempt to foist terror and bloodshed on the innocent. We can observe that the country is moving into a near war footing, because of the likes of Buhari and he should know that nobody is smiling. Govt is making it clear that ather than yield an inch, Buhari will be met if he insists on the path of violence and thuggery. Unreformed thugs, tyrants and old men with little morals like Buhari are better warned that Nigeria is a changed country where violence and bigotry have replaced with diplomacy and merit. Those who do not know the value of community are better off walking into the bin where they can absolutely self-destruct. |

^ lol Just avdice yourselves to be law abiding and the head of your organisation (more like mob) will not be picked up. But any further stonings, religious incitement, burnings or killing of those who refuse to say, "sai Buhari" will be met with the full force of the law. Almajiri or no almajiri. |

egift: Forget that stuff. Many of us progressives were highly suspicious of Bakare, but Nigerians are all the wiser about him now; he was simply labouring for his pocket, while the rest of us were toilling for Nigeria. Is Bakare not the same man that made this twin false "prophesies?" "Neither Buhari nor IBB nor Obasanjo nor Atiku will be part of the new Nigeria. They are part of the old that has decayed and is still decaying. The new is coming forth. It is the counsel of the Lord that shall stand in this nation. Until the sons of turmoil destroy themselves, this nation will not know peace." lol "Neither Buhari nor IBB nor Obasanjo nor Atiku will be part of the new Nigeria. Politics / Re: Even At Pdp Rallies, It's Sai Buhari! by Udevex: 6:05am On Mar 12, 2011 |
Almajiri's will always pop out in vast numbers for Buhari. They did it in past elections, so nothing new about the phenomenon. Sadly, it is either they don't vote or they get carried away by any offers made to assuage their pangs of hunger. The reason the almajiri's have come out like locusts for Buhari is the same old reason they riot at the drop of a pin. Their Imams have incited them and all sorts of truly ugly text messages are going around the North, urging people to vote for Islam, telling them GEJ is anti-Islam and a Zionist etc Those crowds are the face of plain old bigotry. In the South, Buhari has been able to pull crowds in the tens only; very few among the younger generation of Southerners can even put a face to his name. Why his campaigners choose to ignore this and do their jobs on the internet that most voting Nigerians have no access to, is the mystery of 2011. Buhari's campaigns have almost all been in the North, almost like the South does not matter. Here is his Owerri rally, a motley crowd and a boring, dejected affair (the PH one was even worse, but the pics seem to have been pulled off his campaign website).

OAM4J: lol @ IBB's Godson. But the last time I looked, it was Buhari's camp strenously wooing IBB; in fact GEJ is busy at this very mo arresting those bloody cabal members. Nobody is above the law, the likes of Iyorchia Ayu and Ibrahim Yusuf are on the run, Abdulkadir Bello and Bibi Farouk were arrested. Did you guys cough, talkless of rioting? Thats the same way it will go when their cohort, Buhari is arrested if he doesn't heed the warnings. LOL! Nobody is above the law, if Buhari doesn't listen, the result will be plain and elections will hold peacefully. No shaking. |

dell_net: Thanks dude, a lot of folk just cannot understand that Nigeria has moved on. They want us to keep doing the same old crude thing in the same old crude way; a tactic that has seen this country descend deeper into an embarassing mess with each passing year. While the progressive and wiser set of Nigerians are strategising to build on the extremely provident set of circumstances the country has found itself in, we have a crude set that want to keep pandering to ethnic bigotry. Well, they can continue to wallow in their mud baths, but the rest of the country will move on and leave them behind. |

Politics / Re: If Jonathan Rigs The Election We Will Experience What Happened In Egypt-- Bakare by Udevex: 4:59am On Mar 12, 2011 |
I find this whole Buhari saga quite entertaining in a dark sort of way. Here is a man that has always pulled huge crowds of almajiri's in the North (a natural crowd, cos he absolutely lacks sophistry). His followers see that and overlook the fact that he has close to zero following outside the core-Northern states, and they begin to shout everybody down and throw stones. This same behaviour is very unfortunately reflected in real life where CPC thugs, burn loot, rampage and beat up or kill those who wouldn't for the life of them, utter the words, "sai Buhari." Strangely, It is this same shambolic wolf pack that a few are convinced will sort corruption in Nigeria. We have in his running mate, a self proclaimed pastor who uttered a dark and gloomy "prophecy" on Nigeria's doomed future with the very person he is now willingly serving as boss. Chilling. Buhari has made several apologies for the behaviour of his followers, but the violence and inciting continues unabated. This tallies squarely with Buhari's not knowing any of the details of CPC's merger plans with ACN, only to fly into a rage when presented with the final document to sign (it is alleged to be the first time he had seen it, cos it had been left 100% to his lieutenants). If there ever was a definition of a rambling on steroids, Buhari's campaign is it. |
